Cooperoo · 03/03/2005 19:28

A fresh start, excellent, thanks Katz!!!

LipstickMum · 03/03/2005 19:33

Yes, good title Katz... now where's Aragorn...?

katzguk · 03/03/2005 19:34

Evening Cooperoo

I have to say i hate being pregnant did with DD and feel the same this time, i feel guilty saying it because i know people who would love to be PG. but it really doesn't suit me, i have heartburn from hell, i'm over tired and because my bump is small i get none of the perks (like people giving up seats for you).

Re SEX of baby, we don't know and i honestly don't mind either way. i thought i would want a boy since i've got a girl, when i was younger i was going to have 4 children 2 girls 2 boys but now - i don't think so. 2 will be plenty and if its two girls then so be it.

lippy - it took me a while to come up with not as witty as i'd hoped!!

was debating between this and due in June 10 - longer than PG itself!!!

a fresh, new thread. hope it brings us all a better mood and good news to people with worries.

the fact that we're all feeling a bit low makes me think it's something about this stage of pregnancy - maybe that we're starting to feel third trimesterish (too big/heartburny/generally rubbish) without being close enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

it's a strangely comforting thought somehow.

Cooperoo · 03/03/2005 19:48

YES YES YES Katz. People can't tell I am preg yet either. I do lots of bump rubbing! I feel huge but I have no bump. Thanks for your post

katzguk · 03/03/2005 19:48

mt scarey realisation was that DD came at 37 weeks so thats just over 10 weeks away for me!!

Hi Lummox
X posted with you. I agree 100% with what you said too. This site does make me feel sane again!
For those with heartburn have you had Gaviscon Advance? I have had it prescribed both pregnancies. I got through bucketloads last time as had heartburn all day every day. Not so bad actually this time but still take at least once a day!

katzguk · 03/03/2005 19:52

finally caved and bought some gaviscon cool liquid (just made do with rennie with DD) and its horrible made me retch!! so i'm crunching tablets again!

OP posts:
Cooperoo · 03/03/2005 19:58

We get given the aniseed liquid which is fairly gross too but does the job!!

PinkArjuna · 03/03/2005 20:28

Katz - Even if you have a bump they don't care! I had to go out of the line the other day in the post office, they made me wait so long I almost passed out with black dots swimming around me - These heartless bitches wouldn't let me back in line I had to wait till this old letcherous man who had been winking at me earlier let me go back in. Honestly... have you noticed how they try and mow you down in the supermarket? Being pregnant sucks.

KVG I think the book sounds really good I'll buy it myself I think as I like to have books to refer back to. What's it called?

I have looked at Mama however decided against it as they have a local version of it called Mothers for mothers which is basically the same thing apart from it is funded by our council or something. I phoned them this morning and spoke to a really nice woman, she was really supportive. They phone you once a week to check you are ok and will see if other fishponds mum's are having an open house so I can go along. So I have that to look forward too now

Thanks for all your replies I read them all and would reply to each of them if I wasn't so tired out from Yoga.

I can't apply for the Job Charley - the date is up and I have college to go to so couldn't commit. Also it is way too late as I would have to go on Maternity leave anyway. Those kind of council jobs come up quite often anyway I just would like to spend my days surrounded by books. I probably wouldn't actually work.

Cooperoo · 04/03/2005 06:05

Morning all,
Just wanted to send some sunshine and positive vibes your way to hope for good news (Lua) and better days for us all.
I have reread my post on the other thread and realise how selfish I was being. I have no real worries and I apologise to those who do if it seemed I was belittling yours. This was obviously not my intention at all. I am determined to have a good day today and a good weekend!
Pink, that group sounds ideal. I wish there was someone to just make you a cup of tea now and again! I am jealous of your yoga though. I think that will help you so much during labour etc. Is the class you go to specifically for pregnant ladies or is it something you have always done? I am going to trawl the internet for a good DVD this weekend, well DH did say I should be looking after myself and the baby more and that might just involve spending some money

tribpot · 04/03/2005 07:58

A new thread, hurrah! I have tracked you down.

Coop - first of all, morning to you and don't feel bad about posting what might seem like trivial worries compared to others'. They are all worries and all have a place here, as I'm sure the others will agree. Btw, quite how you managed the move to Cyprus and 4 weeks without dh I do not know. Hope this time will be a little bit calmer!

And who was it whose dd was having benign fits from 5 days? Jeeeeeeez, that sounds awful!

Uki - sorry to hear this woman is being such a beatch. It sounds very much like her problem is your bump being on display and not your boobs. In which case she is even more completely out of order, sorry it's stressing you so much

I think I'm going to go and see my doc about getting some hardcore Gaviscon on the case. I have to say, overall I don't feel that bad (yet) but then I am a few weeks behind some of you, so plenty of time yet! A friend of mine called me yesterday to tell me she'd been run over by a kid on a pushbike (on the pavement, little bugger) and has broken her arm & her nose . After recounting this story she said she felt very bad she hadn't asked me about the pregnancy first - I said not to, nothing's happening, it just keeps ticking along. Boring. But boring is good.

On the subject of dh's, mine is quite good at taking (or faking) an interest in the pregnancy, although he can't be bothered feeling for kicks if he's watching telly or doing something more important But I know he doesn't worry about things the way I do, which I think is probably more sensible (particularly because if we both worried all the time we'd be nervous wrecks feeding off each other's worry). He obviously remembers the first trimester with fondness though because when I read in Miriam Stoppard that you can get bad mood swings in the third trimester he said (quite loudly) "oh god not again". Happy days to look forward to

No time to read through this now, but I did want to sign on and Lua good luck for today. I'm thinking of you and will keep checking back throughout day (even if I don't have time to post) to see a report on how things went. Wha time is the scan? (sorry if you've already announced this on here)

Charley, there's a mothercare world in Weybridge? Where? We always drive to Croyden. But, Weybridge is definitely closer.

mrsflowerpot · 04/03/2005 10:21

Just checking in quickly to say hi and especially to Lua - hope it all goes well with the consultant, will be thinking of you.

I have to do some work today. Fully expect this thread to be up to around 300 posts by the time I check in tonight!

nab · 04/03/2005 10:44

My cat is about 12lbs but not hugely big. She knocked over DD because DD is still a bit wobbly.

We live in Blue Bell Hill near Maidstone, Kent and are right at the top of the hill. We won't ever be flooded but always get the worst snow and fog.

I have texted hubby to come home and hope he'll be here soon.

uwila · 04/03/2005 10:56

Nab,
Is something wrong? Why have you texted hubby to come home?

tribpot · 04/03/2005 11:03

I'm hoping nab's comment is to do with the snow. Nab, did your dh not have some epic journey home of about 7 hours yesterday? Hope all is well.

We've had a massive fall of snow here, not planning on going very far at all today!

nab · 04/03/2005 11:19

Yes, the text was because of the snow and hubby got back about 10 minutes ago. he has gone upstairs to try and work but DS has gone with him! He doesn't understand. Will go and rescue him in a minute.

Earlier I did have a weird feeling and pain and are just waiting for baby to move.

lummox · 04/03/2005 11:37

hope you feel bubba soon, nab.

I am taking a sickie (because of the snow. ahem) and surfing the net looking at prams and cots.

Looking at all this baby stuff is making me feel broody (or whatever the equivalent of broody is when you're over six months pregnant).

nab · 04/03/2005 11:39

Baby just gave a litel wiggle so I am feeling a bit better but I would prefer a good whack and then I know they are okay..Just had another so I am happy!
