Welshie, yup (apart from heartburn) I'm feeling fine too, infact I'm loving this pg as much as I did last time...could be the feel good factor from all the chockies

Hmmmn underwear on public display...unintentionally would have been a few weeks ago when I tucked my skirt into my tights and paraded around the office with no-one telling me, NICE! ...intentionally (and not drunk, as this doesn't count I've decided ) would be on our anniversary weekend away last year, when we decided to rectify the fact that we hadn't 'done it in the open' as a couple - I'll leave the exact details to your imagination, but lost my top in the process, and DH decided that it was ok as a) anniversary in June so hot weather and b)apparently my bra looked like a bikini top...will say that from odd stares from afew passing people apparently it didn't look enough like a bikini top

uwila · 07/03/2005 11:22

Tea, a bit TMI!

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 11:29

Tea that is so funny
Morning ladies
Have enjoyed catching up again. I am not too bad at the mo on the pregnancy front having had a lowish patch.
I do feel very tired today though and I am putting it down to having had braxton hicks contractions every 10 mins since I got up!!! (Well maybe not that often but it feels like it)

Pink and those other first time mums considering cloth...
HEALTH WARNING - CLOTH NAPPIES CAN BECOME AN ADDICTION!!!!! (a bit like ebay).

MrsWednesday · 07/03/2005 11:32

Blimey. It's taken me an hour to catch up with everyone.

What a frustrating appointment Lua, I was very on your behalf.

Uki, that woman sounds completely barking mad. It's probably easier said than done but you really should just ignore the batty old bag .

Welshmum, loved your broken keyboard typing. I'm another that's not feeling too bad so far. I'm definitely fitter this time round and have less stress in my life, so am feeling quite good. My endless middle-of-the-night wee trips are making me tired but that's about it.

Teabelly, you are funny .

Cooperoo, that's what this thread is for - sharing worries about everything big and small. Everyone on here understands as we are all going through the same thing.

Well, DS went into his big boy bed last night, in his big boy bedroom up in the attic. Too many bloody stairs in our house...the lounge is in the cellar so it's three flights up there now! Suffice to say, he stayed in bed for all of about 30 seconds, then climbed out and rampaged around for about an hour. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Midwife's appointment this afternoon - haven't seen her since 17 weeks. Is anyone else hardly seeing theirs? I suppose the visits will start to pick up now though.

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 11:34

Forgot to say sorry about your weirdo woman Uki. Nightmare. It is lovely to hear from you chatting live and odd to think you are off to bed. (I wish I was).
I believe the bad weather theory (but I was the exception to the rule last week).
Has anyone chosen definate names yet? I wrote out a huge list for DH to look at and he has only ticked about 5 so we won't have many to choose from.

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 11:37

Just saw a bit on the London news (we get that in the morning for some reason) about the underground providing 'baby on board' badges so that you pregnant ladies can get a seat more easily. Would you wear one? Do you think it would work?

welshmum · 07/03/2005 11:59

Cooperoo I don't think I should wear a badge BUT I do think the Underground should put signs above seats that are for pg women if they need them. In France if you show your maternity card apparently you go to the front of queues. That's what we need - less negative stuff - telling us what to eat and drink etc and more positive, practical help.
Teabelly that is so impressive - no worries about your sex life then - you make me think I must try harder - don't think that would extend to the open air in current circs .
Uwila - forgive me for asking but what happened to dd's buggy/pram? Why do you need a new one? Or do you need a double one? (have missed this somewhere)

teabelly · 07/03/2005 11:59

He he he Coop - would have to be very big badges to be noticed by all those 'facinated with feet' people who never look up on the tube!

Mrs W I should book an appointment for this week - am now 28wks - last appoint was at 20wks, and scan at 22...better than some get I guess...after that apparently it's wks 32 and 35, then every week from 38 on... I'm sure I saw her every week from 35 last time, but that was a first pg..??

Let's hope tonight will be easier with your ds, could just take abit of time...couldn't get our ds to be in his room (except when asleep) for love nor money, but since redecorating he wants to be in it all the time and has even forsaken his beloved Nemo video in order to play up there

tribpot · 07/03/2005 12:00

I have to say, I think our London cousins with their "funny ways" (no offence to our London ladies on this thread of course) would take no more notice of a 'baby on board' badge than they do someone with an obviously pregnant tummy by the sounds of it.

I have only managed to put my bump to good use once so far and I am ashamed to say that was to get us some chairs to sit on in a pub

Tea - you and Madonna, eh?! Good job you don't teach at Uki's school

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 12:06

Tea - I would book an appt. My schedule here means I get seen at 8, 12, 14, 16, 20, 24, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 39, 40, & 41. This includes two scans and a docs appt to check heart and lungs. I think this is alot more than others get but I think you should have been seen since 22 wks. HTH.

teabelly · 07/03/2005 12:08

Ha ha ha Welshie - even I wouldn't contemplate open air in current condition ...actually have to say it's not all it's cracked up to be...too worried about voyeurs, so I'm not as uninhibited as you think...also came up in that conversation that neither one of us had ever done it ever in a car, so we're a tad conventional too!

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 12:10

Just saw you haven't been seen by a midwife since 20wks. This seems a long time and I am not a pregnancy worrier. My appts are reassuringly boring but I am glad I have them and do feel lucky. Apart from the possible pain relief free delivery I am still facing I am very lucky with my care here.

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 12:11

Never in a car?? Blimey. .

welshmum · 07/03/2005 12:11

I'm not going to the mw often either Tea. Last appointment was at 22 weeks - won't see her now until 29 and then it's the consultant at 34. I must say I prefer it like that - unless I started to feel dreadful or faint more often. I think it's to do with 2nd pgs.

uwila · 07/03/2005 12:12

Hi Welshie,
United Airlines happened to DD's pram. We managed to bend it back into shap sort of but it was never the same. It was rather wobble and a bit difficult to stear. So, I gave it to DH's sister when she was pregnant.

We of course have one (more than one, actually) that we use for DD now, but none that are suitable from birth.

Cooperoo · 07/03/2005 12:17

I can't remember my appts last time so maybe I didn't have as many then. Sorry if I caused any concern. I know I only had one scan last time at 20 weeks. I think perhaps they are OTT out here trying to justify and keep their jobs etc hee hee.

welshmum · 07/03/2005 12:19

I'm having trouble contemplating going back to the big buggy - we've almost got down to no buggy at all now. Apart from the nursery pick up - I can't possibly carry her home now if she won't walk at the end of the day so have to take it there just in case. Can't wait to be a buggy free home - only another 3 years to go then.......

teabelly · 07/03/2005 12:22

Sorry didn't make myself very clear I am due to have an appoint this week (28) but too lazy to have booked it...but have just done so , and am going on thurs - will hopefully have the results of diabetes tests back then too. But I'm not worried about lack of appoints, can feel bubba moving about loads, and loads, definitely think this laid back air has something to do with being a 2nd time rounder ...Coop I'd forgotton about your pain relief options...you are soooo much braver than me, I'm needle phobic but will gladly take everything on offer!

teabelly · 07/03/2005 12:24

Ha ha ha Welshie - I know what you mean...although on the plus side our big buggy has an enormous shopping basket and that will be handy to have use of again!

LipstickMum · 07/03/2005 12:39

I hate United Airlines and I don't get pissed off at much, but they are the most good for nothing, unhelpful, sorry excuse for an airline I have had the dis-pleasure of using.

Welshie, actually, last night I was feeling a bit knackered because we just got back from my folks. In general I feel great, although seem to be larger than last time. I am just getting quite tired during the day, however I do have a habit of packing quite a lot into my day, so it's my own fault

Last pg, I did have the 'bloom' for ages! That's why I'm a bit annoyed it hasn't materialised yet

On the heartburn/indigestion front, I read that some sage leaves in a cup of hot water are a good rememdy. Probably tastes like shit though right?!!

Tea, 'national policy' on mw appts has changed I keep hearing, especially if it's not your first. It also varies county to county. I was seen at 16 weeks, then was told I wouldn't se the mw until 28 weeks!!! Mw advised me to make a dr's appt in between which I have done, plus the scan at 20 weeks. Tbh it doesn't bother me, I have too much to do to be phaffing around at the doctor every 4 weeks (and that's not because I have a doctor at home either!) But everyone has a very different idea about the care they expect and need.

Cooperoo you are having loads of appts! A friend of mine was pg whilst posted abroad in the army and it was the same for her. Scans all the time, appts all the time, it drove her mad in the end, she was working, or trying to!!

katzguk · 07/03/2005 12:43

just had a yummy lunch leek and potato soup followed by some yummy pickled onion monster munch and then a muller fruit corner yougurt. My apetite appears to ave returned!! yeah can't wait to eat again.

teabelly · 07/03/2005 12:50

Katz - great news...mmmm pickled onion monster munch, haven't had those for yonks, now you've set my mind whirling, and my taste buds

Lippy, I agree last time I found I always seemed to be at the surgery, this time it's nice not feel restricted by mw visits

katzguk · 07/03/2005 12:58

i think i saw the midwife at 21 weeks because she couldn't make my 20 week scan and i'm seeing her next week at 28weeks because shes a vampire and wants to steal my blood!! DD is excited though because she wants to her the babys heartbeat again!
