amplebosom.com or co.uk are also quite good and so are brastop but i was trying to think of some new places to try.im a bit of an underwear fanatic and have about 60 bra's but only about 3 fit me at the mo

Morning ladies, and happy Mothers Day for those of you who go in for that sort of thing!

Hope we all have a nice Sunday - except Uki, who must be on her way to bed already

Lua · 06/03/2005 11:31

Morning Trib!
and Happy Mother's day to all! So.. guess what I got for Mother's day?

A box of chocolate from hotel Chocolat! Thanks for the link Katz! I forward to DH in a subtle attempt to inspire him... it worked!!!
I also got a bag of chilli hot chocolate! very excited! But will have to take it easy with the prospectus of diabetes hanging over my head....

Hope everybody has a nice day!

Cooperoo · 06/03/2005 13:14

Hi all and Happy Mothers Day!
Top marks to Lua's dh for the present! I got a cute teddy personally chosen by dd apparently and a little lie in which was great. Went to Paphos for a walk along the harbour and to see the end of the Paphos marathon but was very windy and quite cold so went to Pissouri for lunch. No wind there so much nicer and had moussaka yummy. DH and DD both on very good behaviour so lovely day. Stopped at the bakers for special cakes for tea too so very spoilt.
Trib - Have been thinking about your brother and his family too. How are they getting on? (I hope I mean trib......sorry if I have got in a muddle)
I look forward to a marathon chat tomorrow as Lauren has creche for two hours and if I am on here I can put off my jobs . I have just noticed the football has been put on the radio......how did that happen???

Coop, I think you mean my brother. (Or one of them anyway - not the one whose wife is mentioned below with the three kids). He gets his second scan on Friday, hopefully we will have some news early the following week before the adoption hearing. Just got to keep fingers crossed ...

Sounds like you've all being having a good day so far! We managed to avoid going round to see the MIL despite (or in fact because of) dh being ordered to do so on the phone earlier this week. Hey ho.

pupuce · 06/03/2005 16:05

Sorry - hope am allowed to post
Pinkarjuna

You never replied to my last e-mail... I am happy to see if I can find you a hardship fund doula.
And I don't know one that charges £700.... a survey we did showed that experienced ones charge between £300 and £500 with less than a handful in the entire UK charging over £500 (like £600)

Tessiebear · 06/03/2005 17:30

Happy Mothers Day All!
Welshmum - lol!!! Sorry about your keyboard!
THis is the first time i have sat down all day!!!
I have cooked a full English b/fast, Walked for BreastCancer, Cooked a Sunday Dinner, tidied etc.
My boys got me the G4 Albumn that i wanted. DS1 has just asked very nicely if i could please stop playing it now!!!
Tired, but had a nice day!!
Out of interest - how much weight has everyone put on????? I have just stood on the scales (yesterday) and realised i have put on 2 stone.
I also made the mistake of looking at my rear in the mirror - it is huge!
I also have a bump the size of a beachball!!

JonahB · 06/03/2005 17:54

Hi All, hope you have had good weekends.

Tessie, too scared to go on scales, but I suspect we are talking at least a stone and a half.

Katz, that is so funny about M&S woman and the nursing bra. I?ve been having a different mat bra problem. I?ve got 3, but they all seem to be giving me an itchy/rashy patch forming on one side where the elastic bit around your body goes. I don?t know if this is due to a fabric reaction or maybe I?m unused to non-underwired bras, but it?s not v. comfortable. The only way to get rid of it is to go braless, however, at an F cup, its not terribly practical . Anyone else had anything similar?

Welshie, thanks for your thoughts on fainting. Not that I?d wish it on anyone, I?m glad its not just me. Like you, I did feel odd for the rest of the day ? fragile I suppose. I?ll mention it to my midwife next time I see her. She told me at the next visit that she?ll be taking some blood, so I guess that they can test for anaemia then.

And Sparklebear is a fantastic name for a child!! Bless your DD to bits! What a fabulous imagination!

Uwila, lol. I can only speak for myself when I say that my arguments with my DH seem to follow similar patterns to yours. DH & I have both also commented that this baby lark should be easy as I?m already used to managing one child . I love your DH's thought process. Wife ? too tired to answer back = her fault, she?s sorry.

JonahB · 06/03/2005 18:05

Well, I've just read that thread about DP's/DH's being sent home from hospital, and its scared the out of me. Must go and issue strict instructions to DH that under no circumstances is he to leave my side.....

teabelly · 06/03/2005 18:47

Good lord you lot have been busy - Katz you should have called it 'Due in June 10 - little miss chatterboxes'!!

Had a fab Mothers' Day Weekend...DH took me out for a meal last night, and have had my feet up most of the day...mind you alot of that may be down to the severe heartburn I've had all weekend ...and the fact that apparently I look like I'm about to throw up all the time too...think he's worried about having to clear up any mess

Sorry to hear everyone's feeling abit down about their pregnancies...I feel bad coz I loved it last time and am (apart from the heartburn!) having a great time this time too.

Lua - how awful - that long wait...I also have a GTT test on tuesday so we can be GTT buddies

Pink - glad you're feeling better abit about things. If you still want people to talk to CAT me - my sister suffered (and to some degree it's still always around) from anorexia and is also coping with depression - she'd be happy to speak to you if you want someone who knows where you're coming from as it were

Welshie - I know what you mean about clothes - last night I had a top on that made me look positively 20 months pregnant!!!! Today I just look about 8 months again Soooo sparkleybear...you like the name....should we read something into this, he he he!

Lippy - hurray you're back - we missed you - don't do it again!!

Sorry - there's probably loads more I meant to comment on but have forgotton...

Oooh except have now tried the smarties egg (I know you did this one already Coop, but I had to for my own comments ) along with the caramel, winnie-the-poo mallow, double cream and aero eggs - will continue to test this week (diabetes test results allowing) and will post a guide the following week in time for Easter! P.S. Tessie I think I've put on about 2 stones too - and I'm blaming this chocolate egg testing completely - nothing to do with my piggy enormous appetite

teabelly · 06/03/2005 18:49

Sorry - Beeshock - welcome - look forward to chatting eh! Hope you mean this - we're very very good at chatting!

Cooperoo - I got a few tots bots, a couple of nature babies shaped and one nature babies stuffable. My favourite is the minki though. They were the ones that made me think about washables. I have a couple of the sliki design and a couple of the normal. I want to try them out you see. I also got a snugglenaps, birth to potty one to try out. As well as wraps of various desciptions. Oh and Ella's house I like that the hemp ones are really thin.

Bubbaloo - I must confess I used the vertbaudet offer from the bounty pack, or maybe Emma's diary well I think vertbaudet advertise in both. I got a free change mat and free towel as well as free delivery when I bought a bra. Thats the only reason I didn't get one on the high street cos I got something for free. Well it feels free but at £30 a bra it is extortion. Though the anita breast feeding bra The only one that is really any good and I have felt supported in and will be able to use afterwards too.

Tessiebear - at last look I had gained 13 pounds Though that was over a week ago now, I have decided that I am going to stop looking. It is way too traumatic I have considered that next to most in my yoga group I am quite lucky in that respect. I seem to be quite mobile but quite puffy now.

Teabelly - cheers sweety I must confess I usually stay away from anorexic people like the plague these days. I get scared I might catch it again My consultant said I should go to the group here I have tucked the letter in my maternity notes encase things aren't always going so well. I guess I get more depressed these days than anything. Too many hormones. I am feeling better after having some sleep. Oh and I finished my assignment so the pressure seems to have lifted a bit. Oh and I have unpacked alot of stuff for the Bubba in the nursery. I am much more interested in him since I feel guilty for considering not keeping him.

JonahB - I am going to look into the doula thing again. Since I haven't looked at the email I signed up for this site with in a while, I think I might just have a mail from Pupuce. I contacted a few people a while ago and never heard anything back and I forgot all about it until you mentioned.

katzguk · 06/03/2005 19:39

evening all

well i've just got back from worksop where i have picked up the travel system i accidentally bought on ebay on thursday. I was watching one that was ending in 2hrs and the price was still at 99p so i decided oh well its worth £20 if i dn't gte it then at least the sellers got a better price!! and i kinda won it!! I do want one for a trip to italy in septmeber, so i am now the proud owner of a Graco Vouager LX travel system complete with cosey toes and rain covers. bargin at £20, hoping to sell in on later this year, might even make a profit!!!

The bumps and DD's new bedroom is coming along, DH was having a go at plastering the wall but lets just say as a plasterer he makes a great teacher!!!

katzguk · 06/03/2005 19:40

pink - have you got the minki all in one nappies? i'm thinking of getting some for DH's days at home with the new baby. Have you had a play with them yet? pouring a cup of water in ect?

LipstickMum · 06/03/2005 19:41

Hi everyone

Firstly I must apologise. I was away at the w/e and am having a hard time keeping up and reading all the long posts with tremendous amounts of information in them So, if I seem a bit vague about things, that's why

One thing I am clear on is who got Uwila and dh into their financial mess and who is having to sort it out

Hiya Pupuce

I'm sort of watching Corrie, it's actually a bit distressing, with the Tommy storyline, not sure I can cope atm!

PinkArjuna · 06/03/2005 19:59

Nope the minki pocket style I'm afraid. I liked that you could stuff them with as much or little as you liked. And they are soooo cool! I have stripes, sheep, paw prints, moon and stars. a football one too, because they didn't have tennis balls. I might email the lady and ask if she can do tennis ball ones. I will die a death if my son wants to watch football... I have taken 2 weeks off every year for as long as I can remember to watch Wimbledon. I hope he is born before the grandslam starts. I couldn't bare to miss it cos I was in Labour... That saying it does cost a bit buying the stuffing but on the whole the stuffin is cheaper than the wraps you need for the other nappies. Though I have mainly bought on Ebay. There are alot of sellers around you have to compare. Though I am sure it was McMudda who put me onto kittykins and Bummdiddy Baby an ebay seller does free postage too. But it depends if they have the ones you want. there are so many places I guess. but free postage is good cos if you are buying a few at a time it really mounts up.

PinkArjuna · 06/03/2005 20:01

Oh Lippy I forgot to say Hi the other day! I can barely keeep up either and I try to come on once a day when I am on ebay grabbing bargains.

bubbaloo · 06/03/2005 20:09

evening all,
thanks for that pink-ive also ordered loads of stuff from verbaudet just to get the free gifts.i got a really cute polar bear rug and a soft toy free when i ordered some sleepsuits
i hadnt put on much weight until about 4 wks ago but have now probably put on about 21lbs which is quite a bit but i dont really care at the mo as ive now got an excuse for being fat
know exactly what you mean teabelly-some days i dont even look pregnant and other days i look like im ready to drop-and i still havent been offered a seat on the tube-LOL!!!
katz-what a bargain you got there with the travel system on ebay!
we've bought a graco quattro one for £150 at mothercare which i thought was a real bargain and that was without the raincover!!
i did get a good deal today though-bought a baby bjorn carrier off ebay for only £10 so i think thats quite good going but the description said the straps were seperate so i dont really know what that means!!
anyway...hope everyones had a nice weekend.xx

PinkArjuna · 06/03/2005 20:11

You got a travel system that cheap Katz?? I have only just finished working out how to use my Graco quattro. They are a bloody mission and the instructions are rubbish I had to go back to mothercare and ask them to show me again.

I forgot to say - You could leave the pocket ones stuffed for DH and they are way cool. I have found it is hard to get hold of the Canoodle AIO for cheap. but I am a miserly cow and if you don't mind the extra quids probably a great option. They are newish out aren't they? I paid a fiver for a minki nappy the other day and thought I was hard done by. That saying the canoodle ones are just as cool as the others specially the jigsaw one. Though on Kittykins they said that the slinki fit large can get grown out of because there is little room for adjustment. I have a few sinki ones and a couple of the normal fit to see how they go.

PinkArjuna · 06/03/2005 20:13

Bubbaloo - I am telling myself my boobs weight half a stone each!!!

bubbaloo · 06/03/2005 20:14

i think i better get our graco out the box if theyre that hard to assemble

PinkArjuna · 06/03/2005 20:15

Is that the polar bear rug which is like a sheepskin with a huge head? I think I got that too

bubbaloo · 06/03/2005 20:15

pink-mine weighed that BEFORE i got pregnant!!!
