Here is our new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dinkystinky · 14/10/2008 12:20

Welcome Scubagroover - if you scroll back to early bit of this thread there is a list of due datest etc. Copy it, paste it and add in your details and due date.

Rosieposey - sorry to hear about rampant diabetes . I hope it comes under control soon. On brighter note, that cake sounds gorgeous - if there's any left over can I have some please?

Am also 21 and a half weeks and my bump is ridiculously huge so am jealous of you still hiding it abit. And when the baby goes off on a kungfu craze, you can actually occasionally see the bump move! God knows what its going to be like at 40 weeks.

MrsY and WMMC - good luck for your scans.

rosieposey · 14/10/2008 12:30

sorry i missed you WMMC- good luck too! Thinking that the thread needs a few more baby girls to balance it out!

Dinky its only my natural 'curves' heh heh that are hiding it - the silly thing is as soon as i eat it pushes right out and you can see the bump quite easily but went for a fitting the other day and hadnt eaten much and didnt look very preggers so im really hoping that stays the same for a little while yet. Will just have to eat salad for the next 4 weeks ( yeah right!) On a brighter note - looking forward to seeing my lo doing kung fu moves i really am! I can feel it but i cant see it.

Not supposed to bloody touch that cake anyway but sod it im having champangne and cake at my wedding! Dont eat any choccy at all or anything much sweet (except diabetic chocolate) and still sugar levels are sky high so im treating myself on that day!

mrsy · 14/10/2008 12:52

rosie - you have to have a day off on your wedding - as long as it doesn't end up with a night in a&E, but you know what you can get away with, so relax and enjoy yourself!

welcome scubagroover - I'm due 22nd Feb too, with my first yay!

swampy - are you really still carrying a baby due Feb 2008? he he!

Calico1 · 14/10/2008 13:09

Thanks for your thoughts mumoverseas. I ended up having a forceps delivery last time as back agony meant that I couldn't push effectively - which is what I am worried about this time around, but we'll see...

Good luck with the scan today mrsy!

I have some BIIIIIIIG pants now AND maternity bras. I am very happy!

rosieposey · 14/10/2008 13:15

Yep mrsy i think that a couple of profriteroles and a glass of champers is definately in order Will put my revised due date up on the list soon - consultant said she would book me in for cs at 38 weeks and to remind her at next appt so that DP can book time off work ect ect - have to say am not displeased about getting away with last two weeks of pregnancy as i get a bit restless (dont we all) in the last month anyway. Will put me at beginning (ish) of Feb instead of end (ish) though which is nice - never gone much over 37/38 weeks anyway but im so looking forward to a winter baby as never had one before (and its my fave time of year!)

rosieposey · 14/10/2008 13:18

Lol swampster - i bought some sloggi HUUGGE pants - omg my daughters are sooo embarresed ( its my job!) but they are so comfortable - im not so sure DP thinks they are that hot though

PinkTulips · 14/10/2008 14:02

i bought babygros today

couldn't resist them in lidl... and lots of baby socks!

funnily enough when i was looking the boy colours looked 'right' iykwim so i'm swinging back to thinking boy with dd i always had a compulsion to buy girl stuff and with ds boy stuff always seemed the right ones so maybe my subconcious is better at this guessing thing than me

my bump is jumping all over the place the last couple of days, it's kinda exhausting though... passed out on the couch last night yet again and the housework just keeps mounting up

dinkystinky · 14/10/2008 15:15

Aaah, babygrows for newborns are just so lovely. Will have to dig out all DS's old stuff from my parents place in a couple of weeks and figure out what we have to get for this one and then can go babygrowtastic.

Am also a member of the big pants brigade - seem well suited to the weeble shaped...

PinkTulips · 14/10/2008 15:48

the few babygros that survived dd's reflux and our horrible mouldy flat got given to charity after ds as i couldn't justify moving every single bit of baby gear when i hadn't even convinced dp of baby no 3.

it means i have lots more tiny little cotton things to buy.... poor me need to find a few nice little wooly cardies and some soft pants now.

mslucy · 14/10/2008 16:34

I've given most of mine away as it took such a long time to conceive this one, that I sort of gave up.

I think there are a few manky items lurking in a cupboard, but there's lots of lovely stuff on ebay that costs very little.

And then there's the fact that my sil had twins (both boys) a year ago.

Baby clothes are lovely - even if they only last a few weeks.

Saw tons of tiny newborns when I went to hospital for the GTT today and it reminded me why I was so keen to have another one - when you have a strapping three year old it's hard to remember what they look like when they're freshly laid.

Babies are sooooo cute (esp hairy ones)

swampster · 14/10/2008 16:34

I am such an incredible hoarder that even though I cleared out loads, I still have most of my favourite little bits and bobs, despite being certain I was stopping at two. Though I am kicking myself for giving away a few lovelies - and all my flipping nappies [kicks swamp monster emoticon].

TinkerBellesMum · 14/10/2008 17:11

I'm 24 weeks. Thanks for the link, I'm reading it now.

Tip for the big pants brigade, Tesco seam free pants are brilliant.

idontbelieveit · 14/10/2008 18:30

Have changed my edd to 2nd feb as shown in scan.

Well, we're back from the scan and pretty much everything went okay. It looks like she's still a she! which is a relief, and she's in the dots for all her measurements apart from cisterna magna, which is the gap at the base of the cerebela, which was a bit big and also she's right at the very top of the range for abdominal circumference, but we're having another 3d scan at 24 weeks, so we can ask them to check that out then.

The worrying part concerns her heart. She seemed to spend quite a long time looking at the heart and talking to her colleague, and then started telling me about the whole in the heart, how there should be one, but it heals at birth. I mentioned that one of my cousin's, and another cousin's baby had whole in the heart issues, and she said she'll get me referred to Guy's - do you think it's just routine if there's a family history? or do you think she might have seen something sinister? Would she have had to tell me if there was something a bit dodgy, or would she not say, in case it worried me? Am in a bit of a headspin about this now...

if there was something sinister they would have to tell you.

But if you are worried, why don't you call the hospital tomorrow and ask them what they think.

I'm sure everything is fine and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who worries myself silly.

Basically before birth the blood is oxygenated by Mum rather than the lungs so their are holes in the heart that allow the blood to flow straight through. These close up in the weeks after birth. AFAIA there is no way of knowing before birth if the baby has "a hole in the heart" because they all do! Even if you checked after birth you couldn't tell because it hasn't had chance to heal. Referring you on could be for your reassurance more than anything.

More obstacles today. TBD's step-dad is a builder and had an accident at work today, he fell off a step ladder and broke his collar bone. TBD was picked up by the works van and taken to the site so he could collect the car, pick his step-dad up from hospital and take him home. He then got a call tonight asking him to go and get a fluorescent tube for his nan (she's housebound so his parents tend to do a lot of running around for her) and he's realised this is the start of something! He has to take his step-dad back to the hospital tomorrow for fracture clinic. I have another antenatal (I think they're doing my INR so should be a quickie) then I have to go to another part of the hospital for something else in the afternoon. Supposedly we have this week off to do some work in the flat for the move and to have our holiday

Speaking of the flat... I spoke to the lady at the HA yesterday, I'm in band A to move and because I want to stay on my estate even though the books are closed they're going to write to the man I spoke to before and see if they can accommodate his requirements, if not they will mail drop the estate. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long. In 7 weeks I will be as far pregnant as I've ever been so I'm concerned about getting the move at least arranged by then.

evening everyone. Hope you are all well. I am trying so hard to sleep on my side but always wake up on my front..... This wont hurt the baby will it??

I have just got my big pants out as well. Are what a relief.

I received my notice of redundancy today and I am getting no redundancy pay but a months notice so the leaving date puts me inside the 15 weeks before baby is due. thus I think they have to pay my maternity (have asked payrol to confirm this and awaiting an answer)..

I am trying not to let it get me down as I know it is not personal and no way reflects my work but it is very hard..... Also woried as I wont have internet when I leave so will need to get something sorted out for then...... the thought of no MN scares the hell out of me....

lardy, look at my post on the next page about sleeping positions. No it doesn't matter, sleep how you want and how you are comfortable, you will move if you're not.

MarkStretch · 14/10/2008 20:40

I am so tired.

MamaGoose · 14/10/2008 20:50

lardy - I do the same thing. Every night I go to sleep on my side but wake up on my front (well almost now, slightly to side as enormous bump). I would think I was squashing baby but it clearly isn't bothered.

Congrats TBM on making it to 24 weeks...someone else posted about being 24weeks on previous page but can't remember name and will loose this post if I go and look...argh so frustrating
