Ooooo- Congrats to Questionkid too!!!

chilledmama · 14/10/2008 21:09

OK where was I before I rudely interupted myself with a touch of madness.

Hello All, and congrats to all who have made it to viability

Don't know if I mentioned over the weekend...had 20 week scan last week and its a girl.

PinkTulips · 14/10/2008 21:12

i'll be joining the 24 weekers tomorrow

not major on the grand scale of things but i lost my nose ring at some point tody and don't have a spare have been to the shops and out in the garden so not much hope of finding it and not exactly an abundance of local piercing studios to pop out and buy a new one. what are the chances of anywhere online accepting a laser card

chilledmama · 14/10/2008 21:24

Sorry PT, no idea.

However if you need cheering up please look at this thread...it really made me LOL!!

dinkystinky · 15/10/2008 08:50

That thread is hilarious Chilledmama! The wife of one of my colleagues fancies Big Cook Ben from Big Cook, Little Cook - I thought that was amusing but it pales into insignificance alongside the other CBeebies crushes out there....

Lardybump - fingers crossed you'll get your maternity pay from work. Hope things are going better with your DP now. Local libraries are good locations for free or v cheap internet use (and also v cheap DVD rentals I've recently discovered) if you dont get round to getting home internet access sorted out, so you should still be able to get your MN fix every so often.

TBM - you and your extended family are having an awful run of bad luck at the moment; fingers crossed that your luck turns and you get the house swap you're hoping for.

Mrsy - agree with MsLucy; speak to your GP or midwife if you're worried about what the sonographer said. Congrats on still having a little girl on the way...

Morning all.

DD got up this morning and had dia... dhia... diah... an upset tummy and so is off school.

She is fine now though and already asking what time lunch is. Why does that always happen?

I have friends coming for a tea party this afternoon, one with her ds who is 8 months and another who is 16 weeks pg. The talk will be of babies!

I have made scones.

PinkTulips · 15/10/2008 10:38

I DROVE DD TO PLAYSCHOOL

i didn't crash, i didn't stall (anywhere embarassing), i didn't have to ask anyone to reverse for me and i made it back in one piece, albeit with a tiny detour into my neighbours garden noone lives there and it's just lawn so no harm done, oddly enough i only fuck up right outside my own door, the rest of the trip went smoothly, even reversing out of my friends drive

aren't ye glad ye don't live in ireland where people like me can take to the road, lol!

MarkStretch · 15/10/2008 11:00

Pink well done!

I reversed into the tree outside my house yesterday.

I've only lived here 14 months. You'd think I'd know it was there by now

PinkTulips · 15/10/2008 11:07

i seem to be having some sort of mental block about the brakes, oddly enough on the main road i'm fine but trying to get in and out of the drive i keep pressing the wrong pedal.... possibly pregnant with 2 toddlers giggling at me in the back isn't the safest way to be practicing

funnily enough i'm much better than when dp is in the car with me though, wonder why that could be

PinkTulips · 15/10/2008 11:11

lol at your dd being fine now btw.... mine does that to me every time i keep her off playschool as well and i end up feeling like an idiot.... but then the times i send her in despite her saying she's sick it usually turns out she is sick and has a miserable day and i feel uber guilty..... you can't win!

laidbackinengland · 15/10/2008 11:16

Morning all . Good news on your scan chilled. I saw the midwife today for a 25 wk visit (My EDD is apparently 21/1 now and I am 25 + 5). They've booked me in for a GTT because of previous big babies....yawn. I managed to book it on a day I meant to be at work though so I can kind of have the morning off [naughty slack worker emoticon]!

MS - hope DD's bottom behaves.

PT - your driving sounds excellent !

MarkStretch · 15/10/2008 11:24

DD is shredding paper things with scissors now and watching Charlie and Lola.

I am dreaming of halloumi cheese working from home. Unsuccessfully.

Neeerly3 · 15/10/2008 11:31

Just realised I had taken a year off myself! I am now 32 (but shhh, i look 31 honest!)

baby in weird position today, having to constantly walk about to move him/her.....very uncomfortable. Seeing consultant tomorrow, to discuss my previous prem delivery and possible subsequent one with this one.

dinkystinky · 15/10/2008 12:03

Laidback - I think they do GTT at St Marys (where I'm booked in) for all women, regardless of previous big baby or previous gestational diabetes or not. No idea why...

PinkTulips - well done on the driving. Will just keep getting easier the more practice you get in so ignore those toddlers and DP.

Think my pregnancy hormones are playing up - watched Juno last night and found myself blubbing away at the end. Not entirely sure why!

mslucy · 15/10/2008 12:41

PT, I'm impressed by anyone who can DRIVE at all (if only you knew how many times I've failed my test.)It would be embarrassing if it wasn't so comic.

Have been avoiding work by making a soup that simultaneously satisfies all my cravings - curried sweet potato and spinach (with coconut milk). DH was initially frightened of it but had to concede it was delicious.

Was inspired after cooking spinach and potato curry last night (which was awesome).

I have eaten spinach almost everyday for about 4 months!

winemakesmummyclever · 15/10/2008 12:56

Back from ANC. Everything is ok on the scan. We are having another boy (eek - no name idea for boys!) Given the all clear for another cs, and told must be a pin cushion and attend anti-D clinic. Off to feed my face now - mslucy, you have made me want something really spicy. Wonder if the Thai place is open for lunch?

idontbelieveit · 15/10/2008 13:11

my indigestion has started today with a vengeance! It's not going to stop me eating spicy food though! mmmm thai, had green curry on sat was delicious.

PinkTulips · 15/10/2008 13:15

dinky, we watched juno the week after i found out i was preg and i sobbed for most of the second half of the movie. dp was in stitched laughing at me. it's a great movie but not such a good idea to watch when pregnant, it should have some sort of disclaimer or medical warning on it; 'may cause unwanted and excessive tearfulness in the hormonally overloaded'

mslucy... damn you, i have coconut milk and sweet potato in the house but no spinich and you've givn me a craving for that soup now! even have a recipe for it fgs!

PinkTulips · 15/10/2008 13:16

congrats on the boy WMMC, missed your post just there. boy names are harder aren't they?

thehouseofmirth · 15/10/2008 13:41

Sorry just a quickie & I'll be back to read all the posts I've missed later but just wondering if I should be at all worried about a headache i've had since Sunday? It's very, very mild and is a bit like the ones I had in early pregnancy (slight hungover feeling). Presumably if it was anything to worry about it'd be worse? Am quite stressed at the moment and also am probably not drinkng enough.

Secondly, am going to stay with MIL from tomorrow until Monday. Do I need to take my Maternity Notes with me?

dinkystinky · 15/10/2008 13:55

THOM - I always take my mat notes with me when I go away somewhere for more than a couple of days, just in case. Maybe worth giving your GP a call to check re the headache - I assume its stress and hormone related (and dehydration makes it worse) but worth getting it checked out.

WMMC - congrats on boy no 2. I know what you mean about picking boys names again - we used our 2 favourites (english and indian) on DS. Now pregnant with another boy and have managed to scrounge together an english boys name shortlist but having major difficulties finding another indian boys name that we both like (and which to english people wont sound pretentious - e.g. "Milan" is actually a lovely hindu boys name, but all our friends would think we'd named him after the city...)

dinkystinky · 15/10/2008 13:57

P.s MsLucy - it took me 6 attempts to pass my driving test! Still prefer to let DH drive most of the time but will do it when I have to (have lovely Mini which feel happy driving when I have to) - however we're going to have to get a bigger car when no 2 arrives and am already worried about how I will be with a huge car. The streets of London will not be safe!

mslucy · 15/10/2008 14:05

dinky - I'm well past test no 6 (try doubling it!!!!)

thing is I can actually drive, just lose it on the tests. I'll get there eventually - my current plan is to take it again in a few weeks time when I'm so massive that the examiner takes pity on me.

PT. Soup would be fine without the spinach - just won't be green. The key is to whack in lots of thai curry paste so it's nice and spicy, though I'll be paying for this in rennies later.

mslucy · 15/10/2008 14:05

btw. Hit 24 weeks yesterday, which can only be a good thing.
