Can they also do a bum lift, tummy tuck, a bit of lipo and boob implants at the same time?

Now THAT would be good.

Are we all in DIY mode? Come through the keyhole and enjoy a tour of Pluto's house....We're having the garden "done" at the moment - committed to this ages ago with a big deposit before we discoverd the pg. Still, I'm enjoying a beautiful fantasy of sitting out there next summer and pottering about tending plants and eating al fresco while baby sleeps and sun shines.

All the £ going on the garden would of course be far better spent on also completing the 10 year plan of sorting out all the artex in our place. We went down the plasterboard on the ceiling and a skim route but still have our bedroom and downstairs lounge / diner to do. Fascinating I know.

Our bedroom is a mess. Last done 9 years ago just before arrival of DS. He pulled strips of wallpaper off when he was 2. Have covered the resulting bare patches with his "artwork" - very randomly placed indeed. Have decided to do it up again and started by ordering some blinds for the bay window yesterday. OMG second mortgage time, I'm too embarassed to tell you how much this is going to cost. Now will have to do cheap paint job on the walls as soft furnishings so dear. Anyone recommend a nice pale pink or green. Is Farrow and Ball truly expensive? Am I paint snob?

Had loft done about 5 years ago when we thought no more babies would be coming so a second mortgage was possible as I would be working full time forever and interest rates would always be -10% So now we will be moving study up to loftroom and actually using the study for the purpose it's designed for - bedroom 3 - the nursery. It had better be a girl or boy will have to put up with bright red and white floral blinds for a long long long time.

I hope you all enjoyed snooping around Pluto's house. I'll invite you all to the grand opening of the garden in about 2 weeks.

oooggs · 10/10/2008 19:39

markstretch - your bump is tiny - I look like the size of a house - will try and get to photograph it in a mo

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 19:43

Yes! More bump pictures please people! I want to see you!

thehouseofmirth · 10/10/2008 19:47

Pluto your bedroom sounds palatial compared to ours. Put some pics on your profile & I'll show you dome of mine! We bought our house 2 years ago and lived with the terracotta wallpaper beautifully embellised with gold and cream squares until this Easter when I started ripping it off. DH finished the job with a steam stripper which took off huge chunks of plaster too but until recently the manky walls were an improvement on the wallpaper. Now DD2 is on his way I know that soon it's going to become totally unbearable and mercifully MIL thinks it out of the question for a baby to sleep in such a hovel so has kindly advanced the cash for the plasterer. Got loads of paint cards from B & Q yesterday and there was a lovely pink as well as lots of great greens which is what I think we'll go for. I'll have a look later & post whatever ridiculous names they are called so you can look (think they were Dulux so you can see on their website) I'm thinking we might go for organic paint as I can't imagine us getting it all done before January and the chemicals won't have had a chance to completely go before the baby arrives.

herbgarden · 10/10/2008 19:49

isn't it called "nesting" pluto -I can just see that if we don't get it done now then once no 2 arrives it'll be game over for a wee while. I'm planning on finishing the decorating I started last weekend on Sunday pm (granny is coming to watch ds)

lardybump · 10/10/2008 19:56

evening all.

Just nipping on to say I had my scan today. Everything looks great and there are no problems at all. I am so happy about that.

Unfortunatly dp and I have been arguing a lot recently and i think we may have just split up , he has said some nasty things to me and I just dont know what to do now.

So all in all the day has been shit and totally ruined. I am having a glass of wine now and trying so hard not to think about a fag....

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 19:58

Oh no lardy- are you ok?

Please please feel free to offload if you need to, it's important to be able to get it off your chest if you want to

We're all here for you xx

idontbelieveit · 10/10/2008 20:06

sorry lardybump Hope you manage to work things out for the best. Re the cig - it won't change anything and you'll just feel guilty on top of miserable, don't do it to yourself. Think of your beautiful baby at the scan today.

Thanks for the kind words people.
TBM - maybe we should form a support group. i feel like all the enjoyment has gone from this pregnancy but i'm trying very hard to stay positive.

lardybump · 10/10/2008 20:07

I am just feeling very empty at the moment. I have no where to go right now so have locked myself in dd's bedroon and have put the spare bed down.

Things havent been great for a while I just thought that we would get through it. But sadly it seems that we wont. Dont know how things will be tomorrow when the dust settles but right now I am so hurt that I can not see a way out of it.

I just cant believe how he could say all the things he did if he actually cared for me. Of cause it is all my fault and I am too blame!! And now I can hear him bitching about me to someone on the phone. Nice.

oooggs · 10/10/2008 20:09

IDBI - stay positive

lardy - hope you are ok

markstretch - pic on profile

pluto · 10/10/2008 20:13

This is awful lardybump. I am thinking of you but wish I could think of something more helpful to say.

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 20:13

Ooogs bump looks good!

More importantly I am green with envy at your DOUBLE OVEN! And your lovely big kitchen with pretty units!

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 20:14

Lardy- do you want to have a rant?

It's ok to

chilledmama · 10/10/2008 20:16

goodness off line for a day and se what you miss...

Who needs a Maternity Belt??? I had donated to me and i don't need it...am happy to post it to who ever needs it.

It looks like it might be the one that TBM linked to but I'll have a closer look now.

lardybump · 10/10/2008 20:18

I am ok at the moment but might need to rant over the next few days if things dont pick up....

I am so of your bumps. Mine is massive and I have also got very big legs and bum.... You all look like you have only gained weight on you bump !!

oooggs · 10/10/2008 20:18

markstretch - we are in the process of changing the worktops, tiles, paint, taps & sink to match the utility - houses are constant work in progress

chilledmama · 10/10/2008 20:21

its no 2 on the linked page below
www.promedics.co.uk/catalogues/Orth/P41-42%20Maternity.pdf

chilledmama · 10/10/2008 20:25

oh lardybump-sorry to hear your news...stay strong. People often say things they don't really mean deliberatly to hurt the other personm. Pain is easier to deal with when your angry so sometimes it helps to try to spread the anger to the other person then your not as responsible for it..iykwim

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 20:26

oooggs my kitchen is so small DH and DD can no longer squeeze past me to the bathroom.

I sit outside the windows of kitchens like yours drooling down the glass

lardybump · 10/10/2008 20:34

Right I am off again now ladies, thanks for the support and will let you know how we get on over the weekend.

winemakesmummyclever · 10/10/2008 20:34

Lardybump - sorry to hear this. People say hurtful things in the heat of the moment, often not realising just how badly they will hurt or how much they will regret them later. Try and get some rest tonight and see how things are over the weekend. Hope things work out for you.

thehouseofmirth · 10/10/2008 20:49

Lardybump I've probably missed you now but just to say I hope it all blows over and that things seem more positive in the morning.

swampster · 10/10/2008 21:39

idbi

lardy

ooogs - you appear not to have a head!

pluto - The Little Greene Paint Company also has a lovely range of child-friendly (no really nasty chemicals) paints. But if you are happy to use bog standard paints, choose the F&B colour you lust after and Dulux or Leyland will colour-match it pretty effectively (and relatively cheaply).
