hi all - new scan pciie attached - we have not been colour coded - didn't want to know, so will have to join clubs later on!

Found the placenta was right at the front hence not feeling a great deal at the mo and DH not feeling anything.

Had a dizzy spell last night which flipped me out a bit whole room was spinning even while i laid down, like being drunk. Have consultant apt next week so will mention it then.

I have a blissful kid free 2 nights ahead as they are going to stay with grandparents til Sunday - bring on the duvet, chocolate and B&W movies!

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 14:43

Awwww neeerly the picture is really clear and very cute! I think it's a dainty little girl who will grow up overprotected by her big twin brothers.

Neeerly3 · 10/10/2008 14:47

and her burley 20st rugby player dad!

winemakesmummyclever · 10/10/2008 14:53

Congrats to all those with scan results. Think the girls are being outnumbered by boys at the moment. Shall have to check on facebook tally.

Yes, dh is a lovely, gorgeous and understanding gasman. Doesn't come with free drugs though he did once convince me take paracetamol then allow him to stick needles in me for some research thingy he was doing . No perks in the NHS these days. Do get freebie acupuncture from him and the occasional pen from reps (sad student alert!)

Neeerly3 - we have the same EDD. It is lovely to look at your scan pic and see what my lo will be looking like right now. Don't have my scan until next Weds . Enjoy the P&Q this weekend.

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 16:47

KT, pregnancy doesn't work in 4 weeks, it should because our bodies do, if it did we would have 10 month pregnancies. Not sure when the 5th month starts, 22 weeks possibly? 20 weeks would be 4.5 months.

Girls - 5
Boys - 6
Surprises - 4

Surely we have more than 15 mothers?

I have another scan [does mental tally] I think it's my 9th Should be starting on three a week soon.

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 16:58

I have added another picture of my fat gut baby bump to my profile!

dinkystinky · 10/10/2008 17:12

Herbgarden - 2 Feb is my dad's birthday: he's a very chilled gentle loving person (rather like my DS) so hopefully bodes well for your little one

Is my dad's 65th on 2nd this year so am supposed to be heading to deepest darkest Nottinghamshire for his surprise birthday party my mum is organising. Will be keeping everything crossed that I dont go into early labour there (or will be insisting DH drives us back to London) as the thought of having to give birth with my mum fretting away in front of me is too much to bear!

dinkystinky · 10/10/2008 17:14

Markstretch - you still look disgustingly neat. No fair! I am huge (basketball down top kind of look). When I finally get my home computer up and running will post some pictures of my humungous bump for you to compare and contrast with.

onwardandupward · 10/10/2008 17:50

MArkstretch, you look like an actress who is pretending she is pregnant with a neat little prosthetic on the tummy of her otherwise svelte form.

You know how women carry babies high, or all in front or whatever? I am carrying this baby mostly in my bottom, I think, since that's where the really noticeable expansion is taking place...

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 17:53

I'm carrying mine above my scar, it looks horrid! If I have to have another section I'm going to tell them to rejoin the fat so it doesn't look so bad

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 17:56

Ahhh I love you all for not making me feel like a fat freak.

TBM- I too have that horrible 'ledge' from my c-section scar instead of a gently sloping abdomen. Annoying isn't it?

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 17:57

Oh yeah! I just find the biggest possible pants that make my silhouette a bit smoother lol. Hoping the maternity belt will help on that front too.

swampster · 10/10/2008 18:05

Onward - that is because MS is really a troll!

TBM - I think that's pretty much what they did with my second section - it was lovely and neat and a great improvement on the previous scar. Now I'm scared they'll go in an mess up all my beautiful surgery.

Big pants are ace.

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 18:09

Glad I discovered them after years of thongs!

It's a relatively new idea to rejoin the fat, they normally just leave it then you get it gather above the scar and give you that overhang.

winemakesmummyclever · 10/10/2008 18:20

Another member of the belly ledge & big pants club here.

Would love to have a c-tuck this time around plus a bit of hip/arse lipo

idontbelieveit · 10/10/2008 18:30

baby ledge and big pants here too.

Had scan yesterday, baby growing as expected thank goodness but echogenic bowel still there and my uterine arteries are showing high resistance and the left one has a "notch" which basically means a lower than average amount of blood getting to the placenta... If she doesn't keep growing properly they have to get her out.
At the moment am really hoping she'll keep growing until I get to 30 weeks then i can start to feel more positive....
Send grow vibes to my belly please!

PinkTulips · 10/10/2008 18:36

hello all.

no real news, just checking in to keep this high on my threads i'm on.

congrats on all the good scan news

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 18:38

So that's two of us hoping for 30 weeks Shall we make a support group?

It's not that long ago I said we were about half way till we saw people either having premature babies or trying to hold on for a bit longer.

PinkTulips · 10/10/2008 18:39

idbi....so sorry you've had worrying news

herbgarden · 10/10/2008 18:48

ooh explain to me about the second c-section tucking the fat away thing? Do you mean that bit that sort of flops over the top of the scar like a muffin top over the jeans. Can they do something about that then ??

While I think about it, anyone going in for their first baby - in the event that you end up having an emergency c-section (and obv at this stage you don't know that'll happen) , make sure you take 6/7 pairs of big pants with you - and xtra pads. The most comfortable thing and what they recommend is that you pop a pad down the front of your big pants over your scar once they've taken the dressing off (it comes off pretty quick).I had these ridiculously small knickers (what was I thinking) which were uncomfortable and useless...and during pregnancy wore those M & S boy pants so didn't really have many big pants so DH had to go and buy more (not one of his favoured post natal jobs)

herbgarden · 10/10/2008 18:49

idbi sending to you and baby....

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 18:52

Same here herb. I only took small knickers.

When my mum came to hospital the following day she asked if there was anything I wanted and I was shouting 'BIG PANTS'

The little knickers rest just on the scar area and your huge maternity sanitary mattresses just fall out the side.

I was so pleased when my mum turned up with size 16 apple pickers from M&S, in black too.

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 18:53

And swampy I am going to get you for this!

MarkStretch · 10/10/2008 18:54

Oh and where the hell are spottyshoes and singingintherain?

TinkerBellesMum · 10/10/2008 18:56

When they sew you back up after a section they don't sew up the fat layer (no need to really) so you end up with all the fat over hanging your scar which looks awful (well mine does to me, can't comment on anyone else's!) What you can ask them to do is rejoin the fat layer so that you don't get that effect.
