suiledon rest up!!!

rutho yep i have mastered the art of the plate on the cushion too!

hello to everyone else

Pinkali37 · 03/10/2008 11:35

Ok am i being totally stupid or have i missed a post from Obs? (yeah i know, don't all shout out at once, that i'm being totally stuid}.. i'm delicate you know!

Sauraus and of course this is both of ours first child so... the race really is on, but hey, you have a 2 day lead on me? Have you got an up to date photo of your bump? I will put one on asap.

chocolategal · 03/10/2008 11:36

aww lacks it does sound like you have tried everything, when we have someone at work come in and need a ring off before we cut it we try wrapping string around their finger (tight!) then more often than not the ring can slide off over the top of it!

sounds sore but it is a last attempt before cutting!
goodluck

suiledonn · 03/10/2008 11:47

Thanks everyone. I think I overdid it this week with the driving test and the lessons I took before it. I have no power steering in my car so it was a lot of physical exertion. We were at a christening last Saturday and a first birthday party last Sunday so I had a busier few days than usual. Rest is probably the best thing for me. Anyone know how to explain this to a two-year-old though?

Lacks have you tried getting your hand very cold first before trying to get the ring off? It might make the small bit of difference you need to get it to budge.
Alternatively how about a band aid above the ring pulled extra tightly?

ruthosaurus · 03/10/2008 11:47

Poor you, Lacks, have you tried cooling the hand down under the cold tap? It's the panic as well, isn't it?

[goes hmm and tries to take own rings off]

I am now totally paranoid and twitchy about this baby and have just called the midwife asking if I can come in and get the doppler on it as it hasn't moved more than a couple of times since last night - midwife vrey nice and says of course I can come in but that I need to try some relaxation techniques as well as I could have another 6 weeks of this to go... Feel like an idiot and close to tears - hormones not helpful!

ruthosaurus · 03/10/2008 11:48

Ah, cross posted you, Suiledonn, but the wisdom is the same!

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 11:51

suiledon, rest up lovely.

rutho....{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

thanks for the ring tips; am off to try elastoplast and string, after plunging my hand in ice water for five minutes

cutting it won't be too bad as it needs resizing anyway!

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 03/10/2008 11:54

You won't have a hand left, pet! Don't try to DIY cutting it off, okay? Thanks for hugs, feeling the need!

Betti · 03/10/2008 12:05

Just popping in to say love title and hope all you tea ladies have a nice afternoon. V.

Had my urine test done and no infection so I guess the pains I've been having are BH. On the countdown now.

tostaky · 03/10/2008 12:07

I took my ring off yesterday bc it was just more and more difficult to get it on and off... and i really dont want to have to cut it....
cant wait for the baby out so i can at least try to sleep in any position i please...

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 12:13

is anyone elee struck all of a sudden by the realisation..........

"OH F*** I'M HAVING A BABY" ?

You'd think by now and with No3 I'd be comfortable with it, but noooooo; I am having major panic attacks about everything...although you wouldn't think it to look at me sat on my fat arse on the sofa eating chocolates

OP posts:
MonkeyMargot · 03/10/2008 12:33

Lacks - Is your ring off yet? Is this going to impede your Scrabble prowess? No? Didn't think so.....
Saurus Agree with your MW you need to try and relax a bit. Have you tried massaging your bump to get baby moving? I really wouldn't worry you know. It's probably worn out what with trips to the hairdressers and so on.
Got to get my arse in gear soon for the LondonTea

ceebee74 · 03/10/2008 12:33

Daisy I have those panicky moments quite regularly but then I also get 'oh I can't wait to meet this baby' moments aswell.

You have made me think about my rings - although they are only costume jewellery (my proper rings haven't fitted since before I had DS ) it would still be easier to take them off now rather than cut them off - but I feel so bare without them!

Right, I think I may have wound down too early at work - am sat here with nothing to do and still got 3 (albeit short) weeks left - whoops!! Have got a meeting in another town later which hopefully I can finish early and then I plan to go to H&M as I bought a fab mat jumper from there and want another colour as it is very flattering and very comfy!

Hope the Londonladies are having a fab time - can't wait to hear about it.

Suiledonn really hope it is just rest you need and not that your baby is going to make an early appearance.

Pinkali37 · 03/10/2008 12:34

Lacks hold your hand above your head for a little while, that should work as it willd rain all the blood out (well not all of it). AND OH YES... i'm doing that everyday at the moment!

Sauraus I had 2 occasions when i had to go to the maternity assessment centre because i became parnoid that the baby hadn't moved very much. Each time they were lovely and monitored me and baby and yes the little devil started moving as soon as we were hooked up! Hope all is ok with yours... to be fair, mine has been fairly quiet so far today . Anyway, let us know how you get on.

CAN I TELL YOU ALL MY BIGGEST BALLS UP TO DATE WHILST BEING PREGNANT????? DH has just come to be to ask for the office safe keys..... well guess what... i've lost them..YIKES, i feel like crying. All cover note books and cheque books are in it.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 12:59

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 13:01

ack, forgot I was meeting my doula today and haven't done my research. I'm desperately trying to find some decent research on the need for (or lack of) continuous fetal monitoring in VBAC!

and it;s the school disco this evening and the cat needs picking up from the Vet as well.

I hope you find the keys pinkali; they will be somewhere totally unobvious.....like in the coffee storage container or the freezer.....or in the coffee storage container in the freezer

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 03/10/2008 13:08

Hi Pinkali, oops. They WILL turn up, and on the bright side, at least all the stuff is safely on the inside - you haven't lost them, just the keys. Are you sure you have lost them, anyway? Most of the time when DH thinks I've lost something it turns up in one of his shoes or in his bag or down the side of the computer i.e. somewhere he would hide stuff. Big hug, they will turn up, I promise.

Thanks for pep talk, all! I have sat doing sod-all for the last hour apart from a little light crochet (no, really, I'm making a blanket) and baby has made a couple of wussy little movements, bless it, so I'm pretty certain all is okay, but I'm still going to go and annoy the midwife at 2pm by arrangement as I'd rather be wrong and silly . She is going to start thinking I'm stalking her, tho'. I have tried massaging my bump, and talking to it, but it doesn't seem to do much. Maybe it's sulking because I have been eating healthy food this week.

Dais, I love those reality check moments, it just doesn't seem real yet, does it? Even though if I eat any more chocolates the sofa will have to sit on me...

Right, some of the inlaws are coming round tonight so I have to go and brush dust-bunnies under the sofa and lick the plates clean.

Pinkyminkee · 03/10/2008 13:12

pink, I'm sure they will turn up, prolly in a lock somewhere- that's my usual trick, turning the house upside down looking for my keys, only to find them in the door..

lacks, did you get your ring off?

Hope ths cat said ahh nicely. Phebes is improving lots, I am soo relieved- was not looking forward to explaining to DS where she had gone if the worst happened.

Hope the LOndon ladies are having a jolly time.

Re aches and pains, I'm getting a very sore scar when I walk any distance and a very crampy back. Not very comfy at all.

thankfully my wedding ring still seems to fit fine.

LadyBuzz · 03/10/2008 13:27

*Daisy Hope you get the ring off soon.
Pinkali hope you find your keys i'm sure too that they will be omewhere very strange but safe!
Rutho have you tried something vey cold to get bubs going?
I've been cleaning i'm so proud of myself, I'm going to tackle the bathroom this afternoon and that is ustairs done!
When I was pg with DS I came home locked the car up and settled down for a 3 hour nap but left the keys in the front door - right on the street with the car keys and everything there for the taking - I was very very lucky they were still there when I got up

Pinkali37 · 03/10/2008 14:21

Sauraus lie on the floor on your back, that usually get's mine going because of the sudden change, try that for a few minutes (not too long cos baby will be laying against your spine and something to do with blood flow etc..) anyway then change to one side and see if that works. USUALLY works for me.

ruthosaurus · 03/10/2008 14:28

Pinkali, did they turn up yet? Bathroom or kitchen would be my favourite bet.

Hope your ring came off, Lacks - not nice.

Pinky, ow, sounds painful. Glad your kitty is okay,

Midwife says baby is fine (yay!) but because it is " a nice big baby" it's run out of space. Already. But it obligingly got hiccups when she prodded it, has a lovely loud heartbeat and is very well behaved with its bum sticking out at the front and its head down below. That's one well-behaved infant - has it been reading my pregnancy books? I am now goint to start on the ironing pile and make some more flapjacks for the inlaws, bless 'em.

Pinkali37 · 03/10/2008 14:43

No Keys... DH is not happy with me. I have absolutely no idea where they are, well I did have an idea but was wrong!

Sauraus Am very pleased that mini sauraus is behaving and that all is well. Mine is also in that position and when s/he gets hiccups it feels very low down. Mine seems to get them quite regularly and it's very rythmic.

suiledonn · 03/10/2008 14:45

I mislaid a big roll of aluminium foil twice lately and found it later in the freezer BOTH times. Why it didn't occur to me to look there the second time I don't know.

Pinkali37 · 03/10/2008 14:55

I lost some really nice ham and found it about 1 week later in the bread in.. YEP it stank!
