gosh, completely missed the posts about MerryM. fingers crossed she is OK and it is just an itchy rash and not OC. I'm pretty sure my SIL had horrible skin itching when pregnant with her twins.

send her my love

pinky - so to hear you are down. Hope you feel better soon. Just ignore your mum. To be honest if my mum said the things yours has I wouldn?t have been able to keep my mouth shut no matter how much I love and respect her.

suiledonn - DS is nearly 2yr 4mnths and hasn?t napped in the daytime at home for probably at least 9 months and not at nursery since going in the "big room" as I think he is too interested in everything going on. The only time he might catch 30 mins is if we are driving somewhere/shopping and he's in the buggy and exhausted. Do feel for your DD for being shouted at though. I'm sure she would love to sleep too. What sort of bedtime routine does she have? Maybe time to bite the bullet and get her to sleep in her bed or cot? Says me who's DS has started being trouble recently!

merry - sorry to hear about your mum's past comments and your rash. I've become increasing spotty all over my body over the last 3-4 months and feel really conscious of it. I tend to pick even more when stressed which is a constant state at the mo so you can imagine how bad I look . Doesn?t help that I pick though ... sorry if TMI.

barb - I think you should get any symptoms out of the ordinary checked out at any stage. Please do.

zonedout - CONGRATS!

Can?t believe in less that 4wks or 6wks if like DS I will have another baby.

MonkeyMargot · 09/10/2008 21:36

Wow - congratulations zonedout - that's so cool! Hope your little of bundle of joy is doing well! And you of course.
MerryM - hope you are OK and that the itching isn't anything too serious...
Lacks - LOL at your MIL - I admire your reserve in continuing to smile sweetly. Alas, I find it hard to feign the dutiful DIL with mine, she's such a pain in the arse.
Night all!

vbab78 · 09/10/2008 21:42

OK NAMES ... DH will probably kill me for doing this but what do you guys think to our choices (honestly) ...

BOY ... Wyatt Stephen (my daddy)
Wyatt is a name I came up with but DH thinks it is "out there" and still not 100% but he hasnt come up with an alternative.

DS is Ryan (our 2nd choice) Michael (after his daddy).

GIRL ... Alyssa Ann (me)
Alyssa my idea but DH likes.

MonkeyMargot · 09/10/2008 21:47

Vbabs - wow - Wyatt is truly radical! Makes me think of Wyatt Earp...not sure I'd go for it TBH!

Like Alyssa Ann - it's v.pretty.

vbab78 · 09/10/2008 21:54

monkeymargot - thanks for your honesty. Are you sure you havent been speaking with my DH .

Weird thing is I dont see Wyatt as radical just like it. I see it as like my neice, Olivia, and nephew, Ethan, both have names that at the time were not used much so probably seen as "radical" but now are names that are used a lot.

Dont know what we would go for a boy if not Wyatt as it has stuck with me but I can just imagine parents and PIL faces.

Besides Wyatt cant be radical as one of the kids in Charmed is called it . Not why I came up with it I may add.

MerryMarigold · 10/10/2008 04:18

wee hee, zonedout our first baby! Just as well we didn't do sweepstake cos I wouldn't have guessed! Got txt fron Barbs whilst in Whipps X purgatory and cheered me up no end. It does kmake it so real, Lacks, you are right.

So, guess what time I got home. MIDNIGHT! They weren't finished yet - I still had some blood results to wait for and did want another chat with doc, but dh was really tired and has stressful work day today and tbh I'd had enough of the place after 7 and a half hourse ! I actually had an ok time except for the very uncomfortable monitoring which twins totally rejected and so I sat there in pain as they twisted and turned away from the monitor and got no decent trace. Felt quite proud of them actually, independent little souls.

It looks like the itching is nothing serious (though hospital are supposedly calling with rest of blood test results tomorrow before 7am!). It's probably an allergy (on hands/ legs) and 'inflamed stretchmarks' (NICE) but really I just wanted some advice on how to relieve it for the next 2 weeks. Seems like the NHS only deal with life and death situations 'cos there was no advice on how to handle it (though I did ask) - response was let's just work out whether it is serious stuff first (liver/ kidney failing/ meningitis).

Well, slept 2 hours and then itchy woke me. Tried calamine and sleep but couldn't. Needed to wait 2 hours for my next piriton so came on here and caught up.

Loving the names discussion and of course zonedout's news. I really like Wyatt and Elvis. Anyone want Miriam? I like it but doesn't go with our surname. MMargot, I am seriously considering stealing Cecily from you, especially as I am sure you're having a boy! I won't though. I am too proud!

MerryMarigold · 10/10/2008 04:22

Btw, Lacks, got the PERFECT name for your little boy, Braxton.

(I think it's quite nice actually!)

Dozymare · 10/10/2008 07:33

zoned out Many, many congratulations on the birth of your baby boy sounds like a bit of a scary situation but amazed you are home already - does he hae a name yet??

Chocorange calling our resident statitician.....we need an update I see I am not the first to say where are you??!!!!

Now, that leads me to think, do we keep posting on this thread until we have all had our little ones, or do we start a new thread and slowly move over as and when we have them? I think pinky and lacks have been on ante and pre natal threads before, so hopefully they can advise us!

Merry poor you spending so long at the hospital, you have my sympathies as when PG with DS1 i had the most horrendous itchy, red rash on my tummy from about this time onwards...they had to test me for something to do with the liver I believe but was all ok - down to stretching in the end as had eaten far to much cake which still carrying

How is everyone else? i am so fed up now of being pregnant - only got 3 weeks to go (yesterday) but still in a state of a) denial that I am PG b) Disbelieving that I am actually going to have another baby and c) far to fat and frumpy to care!!!

I have now moved out of maternity jeans into the most comfortable trackke bottoms from white stuff - they are lovely and soft but actually look like a smart pair of trousers so I can get away with them!!!

Vbab Alyssa is that as in Al-IS-EEA.......I love that name and my friend's little one is pronouced that way but spelt Alysia! Love the boys names as well and think nice you are using family names for middle names!

I am home alone today for 6 whole hours - will sleep, eat, MN and generally faff around - Can't wait!!!

DM xx

MonkeyMargot · 10/10/2008 07:40

merryM Blimey - 7.5 hours in hospital is not funny...Good to hear they don't think it's anything serious though. Fingers crossed your blood tests are clear this morning.
BTW - noone has total jurisdiction over a name - if you decide you want Cecily aswell, go for it!!
Vbabs - I don't expect everyone to like our first choices (Cecily Coco for a girl, Cosmo Balthazar for a boy) so you really must not let public opinion assuage you. I haven't discussed our names with anyone in RL - only you MN girls! I know my family just wouldn't be able to keep their opinions to themselves, hence I haven't said a word.
Be strong!

MonkeyMargot · 10/10/2008 07:43

Morning dozy! Wow - you sound like you've got a lovely day ahead of you! And I'm liking the sound of cosy jogging bottoms...I'm having my hair done at 10am - yipee!! It desperately needs doing, can't wait to sit in the vibrating chair and also for the scalp and hand massage they give you before they start. It's so lovely......sigh.
Your go on scrabble BTW!

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 07:44

Congratulations Zonedout.

Sorry to hear of the terrible 7 hours plus at hospital MerryM. Why does no one take such a thing as itching seriously ? I mean even if it is not kidney related or serious as such, it makes life so unbearable.

Loving names discussions.

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 07:45

Congrats to Vbab on the sleeping success. Don't you just hate it when there is no logic to your success, and you don't know if it will be a one off, or the start of a new improved ....

LadyBuzz · 10/10/2008 08:25

Congratulations Zonedout that is brilliant news!
Vbab well done long may it continue.
Merry at hospital and hope the itching goes away soon.
Daisy BH weren't 'invented' in my MIL days either?????

LadyBuzz · 10/10/2008 08:26

Mum2becks is it your scan today - Good luck hope the MW was wrong and it is a hard bum NOT a head!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 09:35

love both cecily and cosmo

i know a maximillian and a rocco, as well as a sunny, and DS has swimming class buddies called Ludo (which we think might be short for Ludowig) and Fabian. I really like Rufus, but DH is altogether more conservative in his tastes.

lolling at Braxton though......

vbab...Wyatt is growing on me as a name, (but it does make me think of Wyatt Earp and I can see him being played by James Garner with his twinkly eyes for some reason). Certainly unusual and will probably be unique at school

don't know if anyone is aware, but Clarks have launched a new online e-commerce site. If you put in the code AWFF33 at checkout you get 33% discount and free delivery. I ordered a new pair of boots last night and only pais £34 instead of £50...woohoo.

sorry about the baby's kidney dilation chocolategal and hope that it is something that can be resolved quickly after birth....rooting for your wee one

right I have a friend arriving for a coffee in half an hour and I'm not even dressed yet and the living room and hall and kitchen and upstairs hallway and.....well the whole house really.....is like a bomb site

Zonedout CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Oh wow our first baby. This is just so exciting.

Merry hope you are feeling better soon. x

Didn't post yesterday as managed to have the day off! YIPPEE... had my eyebrows waxed, nails manicured and hair chopped, then came home feeling exhausted, got set up on the settee with 101 cushions behind my back and head, put my feet up whilst watching tv... AND... the doorbell rang and my bloody Tesco delivery was early!!!!

I also cleaned the bathrooms and afterwards felt so guilty because I had been inhaling bleach fumes... It sent me into a right panic all night.. stupid really i was drinking the stuff.

Pinkali37 · 10/10/2008 09:38

p.s. have we sorted out text buddies yet?

MerryMarigold · 10/10/2008 09:43

dozy, just a quickie to say, WHAT DID YOU USE ON THE ITCHING FIR RELIEF? Please help. Kept me up most of night, I am getting really, reaaly tired now...I also have itchy legs and hands, but liver and kidney looks ok. I tried calamine, but to no avail.

My BIL is Fabian.

Am going to get waxed this am. Not sure if wise with rashes and all, but think it will cheer me up!!

merry i used an oil by a company called erbaviva - i went into Space NK after trying everything from Calomile to E45 and the lady recommended it - it is american company and all organic and natural (bonus is, it smelt lovely) It didn't stop the itching but it certainly helped. Mine was so bad it actually went into sort of welty ridges at one stage.....

Will try and linkj for you now....

tostaky · 10/10/2008 10:10

First baby already!! Congrats Zonedout!!

Cant believe theres less than 5 weeks until i get mine!! Doesnt seem real at all...

suiledonn · 10/10/2008 10:11

Zonedout Congratulations. Glad to hear you and little one are doing well. It must have been a big surprise!

Merry My friend's sister had twins last year and suffered terribly with the itchiness too. I'll see if I can find out what she used for it.

Vbab Thanks for the kind words. I think now that dd might be getting her back teeth. She is chewing on anything she can get her hands on and while she is not sick she is definitely not her usual self. Last night I gave her some Calpol at bedtime and she slept for over 12 hours with only one or two minor disruptions. It is definitely time for her to be in her own bed. We set up her room months ago and started her napping in there and eventually tried some nights too but she was constantly waking, looking for me. I got really bad morning sickness then and just wasn't able to keep getting up in the night. I think it probably mixed her up completely starting and stopping but I needed the sleep. Not sure what to do next really.

cricri · 10/10/2008 10:25

Congratulations Zonedout Our first thread baby - wow!
Merry Hope you find something which relieves the itching - must be awful. Glad the twins are OK though.
vbab I like Wyatt. One of the presenters on our local radio station is called Wyatt - it was the first time I'd heard the name (just had to Google Wyatt Earp ).
