Woo! Congrats, Zonedout! Hope the little'un is okay. Do you ahve a name? Oo - does that mean we're actually going to have these babies soon? Eek! I am going into deep denial and am at present refusing to admit that I'm actually pregnant, apart from the huge stomach, SPD and massive feet. But that could be because of an allergy or sunspots or something, right?

Last time I felt this nervous was in the runup to A Levels, back when the world was young and stupid and so was I. And this time I can't get mashed on K's cider to forget my troubles.

Speaking of allergies or whatever it is you've got, Merry, whatever eventually works for the itchiness, try keeping it in the fridge (unless that startles or annoys the twins, of course). It must be driving you insane, poor thing.

Yay with the sleep, vbab! You sound like an ace mum to me.

Names - loving Wyatt as long as your second name isn't Earp, cos that would be slightly worrying. But as a first name it kicks butt. Alyssa ditto, how cool.

I had a dream I'd had my baby and he had bright red hair and I said "Oh, you're Finlay, then" and my mate was jealous because she wanted a ginger baby.

Never eat Haribo before turning in for the night...

ChocOrange05 · 10/10/2008 10:41

Here you go then ladies - I created it in postnatal as I thought it was most appropriate and it meant I got to start a whole new thread with actual babies in it!!

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 10:55

I have been very itchy throughout pregnancy. Nothing has helped. I have scratched my tummy and boobies something terrrible . Dh hates it. It really upsets him. So am watching the suggestions to MerryM with interest.

Heartmum2Jamie · 10/10/2008 11:00

Congratulations Zonedout!!! Yay for the babies arriving!

Merry, I hope they managed to relieve your itching, but I am glad the babes are ok.

Heartmum2Jamie · 10/10/2008 11:08

My tummy is very itchy Ob, so I feel for you. I don't remember it being like this with my others, just this time. It itches terribly in the night, wakes me up, espececially now I have had the dreaded return of the night sweats. Can't say I have missed that, obviously preparing me for the heavy sweating that is to come after baby arrives.

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 11:09

Lacks, re your MIL's comments about vernix and BH contractions, my dad's mrs yesterday said "Gosh, we never used to hear about SPD when I was having my babies". And her own daughter had it really badly! Was tempted to blame it on hip-hop, binge-drinking, computer games and other modern evils, but kept quiet.

Can I have a crap parent rant? I'm feeling the need to vent.

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 11:16

It is only 11am and I am tucking in to home made sausgae casserole and mash.
You know those lovely wrap dresses we were talking about.... mine might have to wait

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 12:08

Hey Obs, you're making me hungry. And I'm still full of breakfast and Rennies!

MerryMarigold · 10/10/2008 12:43

Just got waxed. Does feel nice, but my gosh, taking an inch off the top of bikini area was agony. How do you guys even consider Brazilians?! I hope the inch is enough now, how irritating if they shave me anyway for the section.

Dozy, I have welty ridges underneath and then all over the rest little red marks which are very itchy and slightly raised. Did the welts go? How long did it take?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 12:47

rutho.....finlay is my preferred name, but DH not so keen.

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 13:28

Gosh, isn't it quiet...

reluctantincubator · 10/10/2008 13:41

congratulations zoned out .

Are the rest of you going to start popping very soon? I still feel quite a way off (33 weeks today) as I am practically December and just nudged into Nov by a couple of days. If baby takes after DH it'll be there waving a flag and checking its watch a week early, but if it tajkes after me it'll arrive out of breath and flustered at around christmas I imagine.

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 13:45

It is very quiet. I am busy playing scrabble.

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 13:47

I think we all have a bit to go yet.
I think we all thought that MerryM would be the first.

MonkeyMargot · 10/10/2008 13:49

hello!

Just got back from being thoroughly pampered. Hair cut and coloured, hands and hooves feet manicured and pedicured. Am leaving waxing for another couple of weeks. Am also contemplating going for a pregnancy massage when I finish in 2 weeks...sounds fab..!
Well, my plumber man was supposed to turn up at 7:30am to fix our gas fire, so I got up and at 'em, and he blooming well forgot. Useless.
On the plus side, it's a gorgeous sunny day and the midwife finally called me re. my Home Birth - she's coming on Monday for the home visit to discuss details etc.
Plus we're going out for dinner tonight with 4 gay blokes (always funny) and have a family wedding tomorrow. Whoopee!

MerryM - how's the itchiness? Is it tolerable in the daytime? It sounds awful...

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 13:49

Hey Reluctant, I'm 35 weeks and personally the last 2 weeks have seen a lot more baby growth - I definitely feel more ready, biologically speaking!

I do have to admit that I feel slightly fraudulent, like everyone's expecting me to have this baby and I'm not really pregnant at all, but I think that comes under extreme denial combined with not being ready in terms of having somewhere to keep the little darling!

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 14:07

I've just had an email saying that work wants to schedule a graded observation of my teaching for the second-to-last day before I go on maternity leave. What a total bunch of b*stards. Do they think I'm working from home and I had last week off sick for fun?

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 14:09

Sorry Monkey, cross posting! Your morning sounds fab! I am still trying to get through to the waxing place but all their phones are busy, although I do feel better for knowing that my call is very important to them... How are the hooves feet?

LadyBuzz · 10/10/2008 14:14

rutho the gits thats not on.
I just had to share this with you, I've just been looking through some photos on a friend of my nieces FB and there is one of her being haded her new born son for the first time - the look a pure shock on her face it is a fantastic photo and just captures perfectly how very intense it is for the first time. All you first timers have that fabulous moment to look forward to. It brought a tear to my eye!
Sorry I know that was totally irreleant but i thought it was so beautiful!

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 14:16

Aw, that's so nice, Buzz. It has genuinely cheered me up as I'm having a moody whiny day and that just brought a bit of sunshine into it.

I think I need to go and read Pollyanna or Anne of Green Gables or a similar improving book.

MonkeyMargot · 10/10/2008 14:42

LadyB That is really sweet. I can't wait to see my DH's reaction to the arrival of his offspring. He really loves our dog, so I can only imagine it will be something similar..... Only the other day, he was recalling the day we went to collect the little muttster. She looked like a hamster!
He's quite soppy really.
Rutho - keep plugging away with getting waxed. It's v.tricky to do at home at the best of times, never mind when there's a fully pumped up beach ball in the way.
Ooh - my hooves are much softer than normal thanks, but I have managed to smudge some of the varnish on my big toe - ANNOYING! Will have to attempt to do a colour match and go over it. Bugger.
I must go and do some housework in a bit, got guests staying.

ruthosaurus · 10/10/2008 14:48

Bless your DH, Monkey, they're okay sometimes, no?

When I was feeling really down last night after my dad was an arse on the phone, DH told me I was his princess and he'd do anything for me and that everything was going to be okay, which I know is cheesy but sometimes it's just what you need to hear.

Oblomov · 10/10/2008 14:49

Rutho, do you want to play scrabble with me ?
