Bleurrgh. You'd just be so peed off, wouldn't you?

ceebee74 · 08/10/2008 16:44

Saurus a month late?? God can you imagine having a 10-month pregnancy that would just be a nightmare as 9 months is long enough if you ask me

Not really thought about when mine might come - am so fixed on an elcs around the 18/19 November that I can't get beyond that tbh - even though I still have to get the consultant to agree.

On that point, does anyone know what happens if you go into natural labour before your planned elcs date? Or even before you have agreed to an elcs? I still have another 3 weeks before I see the consultant and am starting to wonder what would happen if I went into labour between now and then....

EVERYONE - BIG THANKS FOR YOUR WORDS OF SUPPORT REGARDING DS.

pinkali - Hugs. Hope you catch some much needed sleep soon and find a resolution to your work worries.

dozymare - In a weird way nice to hear someone else is having troubles with their DC like me but also sorry . I really think DS is picking up on all the changes as never had a problem with him in a big boy bed but I really think DS is missing "quality time" with DH that he had when we had a fully functioning house and DH came home at least an hour before DS bedtime. DS has been used to DH bathing, playing with him, reading him stories and making him laugh before DH put him to bed NOT coming home 20 mins before then going bed now! We let DS in the middle of the night one time recently (1 time in his life as something we felt strongly about not doing) but decided not to repeat no matter how exhausted we are.

Just realised that may sound bad ... dont mean it to.

hana - I went 41+6 with DS and that was definately long enough! He arrived the day before I was due to be induced.

MerryMarigold · 08/10/2008 16:50

I am 35. In 2 days I will be 35+4. Think i am wrong tho. Dh went for 38wks so he is deffo wrong!

Oblomov · 08/10/2008 16:51

ceebee, that happened to me. Had cs booked for 38. Ds started coming at 36-37. I went from nothing, to contractions every minute. Was 4-5 cm dilated by time arrived at kings. But I think it then slowed. ( not sure what happened, because I was hypo and have no memory of that 5 hrs) BUT They still did elcs. As soon as they could fit me in. It can still be very calm. Mine was.
Don't worry.

Pinkyminkee · 08/10/2008 16:54

hi all
Had 36 week scan today. Baby comes up as measuring 38 weeks, mainly because it has a very large tummy! Saw very nice registrar, but nothing really decided until I have another scan at 38 weeks and see consultant (he was on holiday today).

Anyone want the latest pearler from my mother?? She told someone today that I was going for a VBA2C to save her the trouble of coming to help once the baby arrives. (She came to 'help' for a few days before trotting off to OZ for a month last time), so nothing to do with baby going full term, me avoiding a third bout of major surgery... glad we've got that cleared up, then

vbab78 · 08/10/2008 16:57

update - Had 36wk check at midwife. I have gained 5kg so far (now 73kg on my 5ft 4 frame), cant remember what I gained with DS need to look at pregnancy diary.

Midwife thought bump looked smaller than last time and asked if baby has dropped? I dont know ... even with DS I cant remember what it was like. But I am measuring 37cm so slightly bigger than average. Baby is now 3/5 in relation to brim but still she thinks back to back . Everything absolutely fine apparantly.

But my urine test (i only provided a drop couldnt do it) says leuc +++, different to in the past, any ideas what it means ladies? She did ask if I have had pains or burning when weeing again and I said "no". Maybe it is something to do with that or the GBS.

DH didnt get to the appointment because he forgot due to being busy at work! He set off when I phoned him just before I got called in by the midwife with DS in tow . He then ended up going to the wrong site of doctors! DUH! Didnt miss much but he always comes with me and I wish he had made it. We changed the appointment date and location for DH also. ARGH.

DS - Had an amazing day so far just us and I even managed to half sort the nursery and stuff whilst playing with DS. Although when DH did eventually meet me and DS when he left DS got upset (just like at bed time).

ruthosaurus · 08/10/2008 16:57

Can I have a "quiet word" with your mum, Pinky?

suiledonn · 08/10/2008 17:00

vbab I had the leucocytes thing at check up on Friday too. I am waiting for the results of urinanalysis. Should know tomorrow. Midwife said at this stage it can be due to not being able to empty the bladder properly so get a 'stagnant water' (her words) effect. She didn't seem to think it was a cause for worry. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow.

Pinkyminkee · 08/10/2008 17:02

Thanks rutho but I think even if you yelled at her through a megaphone verry little would get through.

vbab my DS got very cligny towards the end of my last PG, I think it may just be a bit of anxiety about things, he will settle down, I'm sure.

MonkeyMargot · 08/10/2008 17:02

Wow - I got back from meetings in town an hour and a half ago, and it's taken me all that time to catch up!! (Have admittedly been multi-tasking - i.e. playing scrabble and eating my apple + ginger cake - which is truly delicious BTW).
It's taken so long to catch up, I've forgotten it all now .
chocO - I am fully decided now on HB - thanks for your top tips! I am now just waiting for the blinking MW to call me to arrange home visit so we can discuss pools etc etc. They'd better get their ASSES into gear or this baby might arrive!!!
I am 36 weeks today - so according to the wisdom of the thread, only 1 week til full-time! (soz, term). Which reminds me, Ceebee PLEASE don't buy a Chelsea dummy! Noooo! and ignore your FW colleague. Arse.
I have not a clue if this baby will be early or late, but would prefer early. My pins are killing me after a day of meetings in town (so loads of walking plus the tube). On the plus side, had a fabulous lunch - had pigeon salad and then rabbit - what a meat fest!
I have got my NCT breast-feeding class tonight. Could do without it as am knacked and DH is out and would just love to put my jammies on and watch rubbish TV in bed.
Sorry for long ramble - this is what happens when you miss a day or two on MN!!
P.S. Pinkali - have started scrabble with you.
cricri you need to accept my friend request before we can play.

suiledonn · 08/10/2008 17:06

Meant to say I checked out my fluid on the face thing with midwife and it is fine. Apparently some people build up fluid on the face, especially during the night the way others get in on the feet. It has mostly gone down again now anyway.

Pinkyminkee · 08/10/2008 17:09

glad the fluid thing is nothing sinister, Suiledon, doesn't sound very comfortable, though.

ruthosaurus · 08/10/2008 17:20

MM please can I have some of your cake? DH has just called to say he is just setting out to pick me up from work - he got held up and we now won't be home until 6. I will then have to do tea and he won't get started on the DIY til 8, poor man, by which time it will be too late to do sanding as it is too noisy and will annoy the neighbours... So another evening goes down the loo. I dunno whether to suggest he gets on with the bathroom instead as that is not a noisy job.

It is all mega-petty, I know, but I just know I'm still going to be sleeping in the spare room when my waters break, and we won't even have our room done, let alone the baby's. This was all supposed to be finished by the end of August. Is a little frustrating, and sorry for the me post but I need to get it out of my system before DH picks me up as he's had a rotten day by the sounds of it. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I'd better hope this kid is late, it might give us a bit more time to play with. Wanna see if I can go til Xmas?

Pinkyminkee · 08/10/2008 17:26

oh rutho I do symapthise. Our house was a reight state until a few weeks before DS was born. DH only sealed the floors when I was about 38 weeks. I was in such a panic that the house would be a mess when the baby came. But we roped in a couple of friends and it got done. He had it so ready, and it was beautiful to come home to after a week in hospital.

mum2becks · 08/10/2008 17:31

update-panicing

Had my 36 week appt with midwife this afternoon (well 36+4) and midwife says baby is now breech!!!!!!! I had suspected it had moved as a very wriggly baby but cant believe it I now have to go for a scan on friday to confirm it and then see a consultant to discuss a CS if it is breech, which they will want to do at 38 weeks!!! Thats only just over a week away

I'm worried as the last thing on my mind was having a CS! I managed to avoid one with DD even though she got stuck and was hoping that this one would be more straight forward, no such luck!!! I'm also worried about DD as I have never been away from her overnight ever

Sorry for the me post, as you can see i'm shocked and unprepared for this! Going to update myself on the thread now and see what I have missed

ruthosaurus · 08/10/2008 17:36

And suddenly it's all in perspective...

Sorry to hear about the baby's position, M2B and yikes for you. Are there not other options if you don't want a CS?

MonkeyMargot · 08/10/2008 17:38

Mum2becks - Oh no - what a nightmare. Can't they try getting it to turn? Are you doing plenty of floor scrubbing? What a worry for you . I really hope you have time to get baby to turn in time...
Rutho - it is stressful worrying if everything will be done in time. Can you spend the weekend doing some serious DIY?

ruthosaurus · 08/10/2008 17:41

Yeah, my dad and his mrs are coming to help out (but we have nowhere for them to sleep!).

I need a cry and a bath.

MonkeyMargot · 08/10/2008 17:46

Rutho You need some cake love. It's what, about 300 mile round trip from me to you? Allowing for rush-hour traffic, I'd probably be with you about 11pm tonight with a slice.
Seriously, don't fret - it doesn't get you anywhere - and it sounds like you've got a plan for the weekend with your folks. Take a deep breath - and ooooooooooout.

ruthosaurus · 08/10/2008 17:47

'kay, DH is here now, poor thing. I'm going to put on lipstick and a smile, shut the office and see how he's doing. Lots of thanks for support, I'm sure another day will make it all seem loads better.

Catch y'all later, by which time I suspect we will need a new thread...

LadyBuzz · 08/10/2008 18:00

I'm on materniy leave
I'm so happy!
M2B hope baby turns I have been trying the hands and knees thing but it makes me feel sick - worth a go though. Hope the consultant has some solutions for you!
Vbab glad your day with DS has been nice today, DS is playing me something rotten and after fighting with him all last week for emptying ALL of his shelves in the bedroom every day I am now gnorning him when he does it and staying alot calmer! Hope it all settles dow for you and Dozy soon.
DS was 16 days late byt the hospitals date and 21 by my date - I had had previous mc so knew exactly when I got pg. I was sick as a dog by the end. MILs next door neighbou had her baby at 34 weeks - 9lb 10

mum2becks · 08/10/2008 18:05

Thanks rutho and mm I have already been doing a lot of scrubbing floors etc thinking that would help it get into right position, but it has helped it get into the wrong one

The MW did say that when I see consultant he may suggest trying to turn it, but I dont know if I like the idea of that as how do they know they arent hurting the baby?

Is there anyone on here who has had a breech baby before??

I am still tryig to catch up on the rest of the thread but this is all my mind can think of at the minute

mum2becks · 08/10/2008 18:07

Thanks too to ladybuzz is it yours that is also breech at the min? if so how many weeks are you??
