summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

Morning everyone!

Sorry to hear your news adie, hugs.

Jools1 · 04/10/2008 12:48

Thanks for the support everyone, and sorry for being paranoid with me me me posts

Went to the gym this morning, then sat down and gave myself a good talking to - totted up all the symptoms I DO have. Is being freezing cold a symptom aswell ? I am usually the one wandering round in t-shirts but have just gone to put a fleece on - they normally only come out for a week or so in the coldest part of the Winter !

I supposed I should count myself lucky that I'm not spending half my day retching or throwing up, but a little would be good, just to prove to myself I am PG I haven't had any wierd cravings and am not even hungry most of the time !

Pretty tired now - am contemplating a wander into town to look at baggy tops that cover my tum and plus size pairs of jeans, then back for a nap before I head off to a concert tonight.

Have a good day everyone

summerbird · 04/10/2008 14:13

a nap jools A NAP that is one big symptom lady!! what concert are you going to?

OP posts:
Jools1 · 04/10/2008 15:30

hehe - I need a nap because I was awake between 2.30 and 4.30 this morning !

Going to see my favourite folk / acoustic band - Show of Hands I usually get strange blank looks when I talk about the music I like

lottiejenkins · 04/10/2008 15:38

Ive heard of Show of Hands. The wonderful Johnnie Walker plays them on Radio 2.................!!

summerbird · 04/10/2008 18:17

i havent heard of them however i am a folk and acoustic fan myself too - hoorah there are three of us at least jools and lottie i too get blank looks when i talk about my fave music.

name dropping alert - this is my brother in law who played the Moseley Folk Festival go here

I really wanted to go to the Cambridge Folk Fest next year but with a 2 month old that will be a bit of a struggle - maybe 2010!!!

I went to New Look today and their maternity range is quite cool, their jeans look really comfy and they had a really nice boho top, and a glam looking wrap over little black dress for going out. I cant wait to go shopping!

the snotty cold is much better today hoorah!

yoshimi · 04/10/2008 20:11

Hello- can I join you too? Had a BFP on Thurs, think I'm due on 7th June. Have one DS, 18 months who is super gorgeous and adorable. Feeling a little nauseous but extremely tired and hungry all the time! DH is out so I feel an early night coming on...
Love a bit of folk music myself too, also non-cheesy country. Am very jealous of gig going, haven't been to one for ages!

Bumpsadaisie · 04/10/2008 21:23

Is anyone else starting to feel a bit like this whole pregnancy thing is going to be a long slog?!

I think I will be 7 weeks on Tuesday - until the start of last week I was just thrilled and excited - felt a bit tired and sore boobs and a bit nauseous etc but generally my mood was good.

This week I have felt pretty much like I've got low level flu the whole time, together with having no energy to actually do any of the things that really need doing. Libido totally out of the window! I'm also finding that even though I am knackered I'm not sleeping brilliantly either - often waking up in the night and early in the morning. We've had a really rough time with DHs job this week which has meant we'd both be feeling pretty drained anyway, and on the top of the pregnancy I think it's probably all just been a bit much.

Anyway, enough complaining - just wondered if anyone else was starting to feel rough? I'm sure it will get better as (fingers crossed) we get towards 12 weeks. Of course I keep reminding myself that the reason I feel so rough is because of our baby and that cheers me up no end, the idea that there is a purpose to it.

Onwards and upwards as they say ....

Bumps x

llynnnn · 04/10/2008 21:40

Hi all

welcome yoshimi and congrats!

Jools - hope u r enjoying the gig and (without wishing pain and discomfort on you) hope you get the reasurance you are looking for

This evening I have started have a dull sort of cramping pain in my left side, really low down. this has got me panicing has anyone else had any pains? cant remember anything like this from last time. I soooo hope everything is ok. cant help thinking about ectopic with it being on one side

yoshimi · 04/10/2008 21:44

Hi Bumps
It does seem so unfair that when you're most tired you have all sorts of things conspiring against a good night's sleep... plus we have DS sleeping in our room still- we're just about to move from a one bed flat-and getting up for the loo every few hours is disturbing him too. However MS hasn't kicked in properly so counting my blessings for now..

yoshimi · 04/10/2008 21:49

Thanks llynnn!
I had a similar pain in my first pregnancy, it turned out to be muscular, I'd been overdoing it. Hope it's ok, can you get it checked out if it's still there tomorrow? x

leaky · 05/10/2008 09:39

Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant with our 3rd,only 5wks & 3days, so really early.
I don't have any symptoms & even went out & bought some more tests yesterday to make sure!
Please can I be added to the list.I think I'm due on June 10th.Have made appt with doctor for Tuesday.Started feeling sick around week 7 last time so just want to be at that stage now to know all's ok!

leaky · 05/10/2008 09:42

By the way, looking at the list just wanted to add that I'm 39(gulp) & already have 2 DS,aged 5yrs & 2.5yrs.It's gonna be fun! And I'll be 40 by the time this one is born so that'll definitely be it for me

summerbird · 05/10/2008 14:34

welcome leaky and yoshimi add yerselves to our list!

bumps yep we are in it for the long slog, i feel a bit cheeky getting excited at 5+2 but what the hell!!!

hope you are all having a lovely sunday

OP posts:
LittleSarah · 05/10/2008 15:22

Hello newbies and congratulations!

Still no symptoms except tiredness here, bit hungrier than usual I guess.

Decided to get a couple of Isabella Oliver tops instead of going to Formes so will order them soon... (Then NO MORE shopping!)

Bumpsadaisie - I think it'll be long in parts, mainly the first and third trimester. I cannot wait to be in the 2nd trimester which according to just parents' due date calculator will be on the 17th November.

llynnn - try not to worry too much, although I always get anxious when I have any pain down there. Doesn't help to get stressed though.

summerbird · 05/10/2008 19:27

hi llynnn i meant to say that i too am having little cramps and am panicking and rushing to the loo knicker checking! i dont knw what it is but am hoping it is standard cramping which you are supposed to get when you are PG.

littlesarah i am soooooo wanting to go maternity shopping but need to stop, i saw a lovely boho top in New Look yesterday......

llynnnn · 05/10/2008 19:54

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd update the list with myself & Yoshimi on there now too.

Gosh doesn't time pass so slowly when you're preggers.I just want to tell more people but know it's still so early.Have told about 6 friends & some family. At least I'm having a couple of wee symptoms like the sore boobs & fantastic constipation

So glad we're all in this together. Now I know I'm never gonna get any housework done cos I'll always be checkin in on here to see how everyone is

MrsMcJnr · 05/10/2008 22:02

Hey ladies been sorting through my wardrobe and have taken out everything that is too small (hadn?t got back to where I wanted to be before getting pg again ) I figured I?ll only be getting bigger for a while

I am cheese obsessed I caught myself buying 4 packets of various types yesterday

Jools1 ? hope you are feeling ok about it all, the first weeks are so hard because the symptoms do come and go and there is nothing tangible to see, I loved it when I got to 20 weeks last time and then the weeks just flew, I loved being pg and never got fed up only eager to meet my baby (he was 9 days late!) If I remember rightly, it?s progesterone that makes your boobs hurt and I think the levels do dip when the placenta starts to grow but don?t quote me on that! Hope you enjoyed the concert

Spanglemaker ? great news on the good scan

Summerbird ? I know how you feel about the cold, glad you are feeling better now, I always seem to get a cold at this stage of pregnancy did you make it a decaf latte? I LOVE the coffee over here is Spain and most of the time the decaf just doesn?t taste the same

Hey Bigcar lottiejenkins

Welcome and congrats Yoshimi and leaky

Bumpsadaisie ? I do think the first few months drag but as I said above, it then really speeds up and is over before you know it. Hope you have an easier week this week, I know what you mean about the night waking, annoying isn?t it?

Llynnnn ? hope you are feeling better hon, the Dr reminded me last week about all the changes going on and that that can cause discomfort and it could be that, I don?t think you feel an ectopic in the abdomen strangely but as pain in the left shoulder. Think positive thoughts

Littlesarah ? I got a gorgeous Isabella Oliver dress for a wedding last year, very excited about wearing it again!

Jools1 · 06/10/2008 09:11

Morning all

I go awol for 36 hours and struggle to catch up !!

Welcome Leaky and Yoshimi

Lottiejenkins - I'm glad someone else have heard of Show of Hands It was a lovely gig - all the more special because the lead singer had to pull out of the same gig last year because his little boy was gravely ill so making it this year was quite special.

Summerbird - will listen to you brother in law on that link when I'm not sitting in an open plan office We could have a great side-thread on folk / acoustic music now

I went down to see my parents, brother and sister yesterday and told them I was PG - my sis in particular was very excited as she was the only one who knew we'd been TTC. I'm really glad I told them Mum said she never ever had any symptoms whatsoever with either pregnancy - not even sore boobs ! Apparently in those days, you had to wait till your second missed period before seeing the GP and they would send a wee sample off to be tested on frogs - no HPT's then and no scans !

I now have full details to give to the mw next week of the pre-eclampsia in the maternal line, and one incidence of a cleft palate (my sis - but you'd never know now). Also discussed the nuchal scan - I'm starting to wonder if I actually want it, or would be happier not knowing and worrying about the risk factor they give you.

Symptoms - my boobs are sore again and I was very vaguely nauseous this morning. Definitely peeing more ! I've got over my paranoia and hopefully can start enjoying this. I'm 6+3 today, and not contemplating maternity clothes yet but did go out and buy some cheap M&S size 18 jeans that are stretchy - very loose and comfy at the mo so will hopefully last a few weeks

Oops - long post, sorry !!

bigcar · 06/10/2008 10:12

Morning everyone!

Glad you've had a good weekend jools

I really enjoyed the chinese friday, yum. But I think now the sicky feeling has well and truely set in, feeling very tired most of the time too.

I've got to admit, I've never heard of that lot [strange look emoticon, lol], had a quick look at your link summerbird, couldn't play the music, need to find the right software, my laptop's obviously way past it now! I do have serious concerns about dh at the moment, he announced yesterday he likes the new pussycat dolls song, although having now seen the video, I'm starting to understand why!

MrsMcJnr, I know what you mean about clothes still haven't got back to pre dd3 size, she's 2.6! Think I might have my work cut out for me after this one, 2 lots of baby weight to loose

Jools1 · 06/10/2008 10:28

Mrs McJnr - I'm with you on the cheese obsession - well Dairylea triangles anyway

Trying to rationalise - I stopped eating cereal for about a week because having milk stuff whilst I have a cold makes me feel even more congested and icky - I have a theory that my body is now demanding more calcium

mum2becks · 06/10/2008 10:43

just wanted to say a quick Hi to you all, I had my DD in June 2006!! Cant believe there is now a due June 2009 thread!!!!!!!!!

Hope it all goes well for you all and it will pass by in no time at all, I'm currently on the 'due Nov 2008' thread, so only have just over 3 weeks left

summerbird · 06/10/2008 13:00

oo good luck mum2becks it is getting near now.

jools yay for the folk music thread! i think we can make the Moseley one next year as the ickle one will be 3 months so hopefully the grandparents can look after monkey for the day.

bigcar my DH who is an avid acoustic fan secretly quite likes Girls Aloud

mrsmcjnr i did a wardrobe sort out too - i have two skirts that i was always going to slim into - the charity shop have benefitted from them, the other stuff has gone in my bottom drawer until July next year!

i feel bad, i snapped at a really nice girl at work this morn, i have apologised but i think she is still with me
