llareggub - I'm exactly the same. Except i'm on DC3 so have even slacker tummy muscles this time! Eating like a horse also to stave off the ever-rumbling, churning nauseous feeling and am starting to have quite a large tummy. The rest of me is a size 10 still thank god but not sure how much longer this baby will stay a secret! To me it looks bloody obvious. Nightmare. So much for my resolution to eat salad and fruit mostly - bring on the toast and butter (plus lashings of jam).

kjat · 28/09/2008 21:39

Evening all. I'm 9 weeks and my cuz gave me her mat clothes which I thought I might use around week 16. Fantasy Island alert. They fit now!

I read that on subseqent pregs your uterus balloons almost immediately as it is used to it. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

kjat · 28/09/2008 21:44

Any 40 year old geriatric moms out there? This will be DC3 so would be fun to compare notes with anyone in a similar situation.

MsG · 28/09/2008 22:20

I think I must have worked out my dates wrongly, cos I keep reading people saying they're 8 or 9 weeks and due early in May, whereas I think I'm 5 weeks and due end of May! I'm off to check it out...

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 28/09/2008 22:26

Good god , this thread really does run....

Have had my first hormanal outburst ( that i'll admit too... was watch Tess on BBC1 and my Dsis rang, couldn't tell her I was pregnant/ Tess got sad and I ended up sobbing into poor Dh's shoulder! oh dear...

Thanks for all the welcomes, I'm in devon if anyone else is this far south

Things are stretching around the middle here too this is dc3 and dc2 is 14 months ( my poor poor body (oopss should have thought of that earlier)) Don't know how I'm going to get to 12 weeks without looking about 20 weeks as I can only be really early now ( still vague regarding due date!

I'm going to add myself to the bottom of the list until I know any better

MsG think that reads right as there are 3 weeks or so from beginning to end of May (5-8 weeks )[Grin]

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 28/09/2008 22:31

Ps think I'm only around 5 weeks too!

( and that was just teasing !!)

Jennster · 28/09/2008 23:03

Will you lot calm down? Honestly I've been away for a week and you're on a new thread! You've made me stay up a hour later than I should have done too.

DS is waking loads in the night for some reason, and dh isn't hearing. DD is and is waking up too. I need more sleep! I'm going to give up bf just as soon as ds has had his last vaccine. night night.

kjat · 29/09/2008 08:59

GM ladies. Just dropped off DCs1 & 2. The doc has signed me off for a month cos of MS...there is a god! amazingly I started to feel better the moment I got the sick note in my hand .

DP was away for the night so it's total peace and quiet ...bliss. Anyone got exciting plans for the day?

inni · 29/09/2008 09:41

Hello everyone
this thread is real fast I wasn't on for three days and there are more than 200 text.
I'm 9w today and can't wait to the 12w mark. I'm still spotting time to time but as my gyn said this is quite normal in early pg and everything is ok with the baby so not to worry. Usually is the CM that is changing and has many vessels and sometimes bleeds. I'm still feeling nauseous sometimes but not badly. This is my 3dc and my bbs haven't changed since I'm pg and my belly is really big, guess is lack of muscles. In any case I don't think I've put any weight on in the opposite I might have lost some. I'm feeling a bit guilty cos I've walking a lot over the weekend and It's not really good when you are spotting I hope everyth is fine. Feeling really tired too. Haven't gone off any food yet but I did in my pg with fish, I couldn't stand the smell. Eating normal but craving fruits and dairy products a lot. My next app with my gyn is wedn next week I'll see the little bean again.
Hope every1 is feeling great today.

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 29/09/2008 09:56

thanx MsG, im hoping so! cant believe so many people due the end of may its lovely though so nice to talk to people going through the same as you do.

this thread goes well fast i cant keep up especially with this pregnancy brain starting to kick in!

no morning sickness yet but i know its still early days, bad headaches though making me feel bit dodgy. so glad ds is at pre-school 3 times a week need the time to rest feeling so tired at the mo been going to bed early and sleeping pretty good part from toilet stops but still wake up feeling like i need another 12hrs! but spose our bodies are working overtime at the mo bonud to be tired.

not doing to bad emotionally yet haven't started crying over silly things yet but im sure it will come soon. although i did get quite emotional when ds cried going to pre-school this morning

went and brought pregnancy book yesturday i think its so amazing how much it changes every week at the moment and how something the size of a grain of rice coz cause so much symptoms!!!

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 10:05

Yay, my pregnancy book arrived today so I shall have a good read tonight

Strangely, my symptoms (apart from killer cleavage and sore nips !) have gone away. I have normal energy levels, no nausea and a reasonably normal appetite - just a (strange for me) inclination to avoid sweets and chocolate !! I have a theory that maintaining a near normal gym regime is making a difference.

I am a little overweight, but looked at my belly in the mirror this morning and am sure it is taking on the shape of a baby bump I am beginning to wonder if I will "show" earlier because I am tubby round the middle anyway ..

kjat · 29/09/2008 10:17

Anyone expecting DC3? I really want to try and fully enjoy the PG this time but the MS sure puts a downer on that!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 29/09/2008 10:20

oh just caught up and i was given b6 vitamins from the gp to help wiv ms dont really know if its working coz ms didnt start wiv ds til 8 wks and im only 6wks 2moro so will have to wait and see ill let you all know.

im starting to worry how big im gonna get coz im already quite a plump size 16 and have a pretty flabby tummy and everywhere really! really bloated and sufffering form trapped wind which is making me feel bigger already. really not feeling like eating healthily at the mo either and i know i really should be, gotta get back to the gym swimming aswell! well i spose theres no point worrying bout it im gonna get as big as im gonna get so ill just worry bout it afterwards and try not to go crazy coz dont wanna be a great big whale who cant move coz still got a 3 yr old to run aroung after.i know there more chance of complications in pregnancy if your over weight so will try to avoind the bad foods as much as i can.

frazzledoldbag34 · 29/09/2008 10:31

matthewandbumpsmummy - what dose of B6 did your GP give you? You're lucky to have one who knows about B6 - mine looked at me blankly, said she knew nothing about it and if I wanted to know a safe dose to take I should look at the recommendations on the back of a cereal packet! Couldn't believe she said that! Duh.
Also re: healthy eating. I've just discovered this weekend that if I give in to my cravings for junk food I feel worse after eating it. But if I eat a big plate of veg and some salmon or chicken instead I feel much better as a result. A good lesson to learn I reckon! No more McD chips for me. And hopefully a less lardy arse at the end of 9 months too!
kjat - I'm also expecting DC3 and know what you mean about wanting to enjoy the pg. However I do find it difficult to say 'enjoy' and 'pregnancy' in the same sentence when I'm feeling ropy most of the time. Then there'll be the heartburn, and all th other discomforts.......maybe I'm just a moaner. Will love to enjoy it properly this time tho as I expect this will be my last preg.
Have a good day ladies.

farrah · 29/09/2008 10:33

Oooh, I'm due 1st May too! And am obviously in good company - there are loads of us in May, but a good proportion seems to be on the 1st May; wonder if that means something...

Am actually in Sweden, but it's so good to chat to people who are due at the same time and going through the same things!

Farrah

MsG · 29/09/2008 10:49

Doris - can't believe my basic maths failed me that much - ha ha!! I knew I was having pregnancy moments already this weekend. Ha ha!!

By MatthewAndBumpsMummy - I'm a size 16/18 too and I'm also veggie so bit worried about my diet, but seeing the nurse tomorrow so will bombard her with questions!

I need to get a new swimming costume but don't know what size to get - they do stretch a bit, though, don't they? I guess I should get something that fits me now. I don't want to buy any kind of maternity stuff at all yet until after the scan.

xx

Febes · 29/09/2008 10:55

Morning all!!! DD slept so well last night I feel quite refreshed today. I've got a head cold at the moment as that with a bit of MS isn't much fun but I can cope.
DH rang me this morning when I was at the childminders dropping off DD and said he left the keys for his work van in the car so I had to ring work and say I'd be late then turn around and drive back home (hour round trip) to drop off the keys. I was steaming mad!!!! Men!!!!!

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 11:06

Welcome Farrah

MrsG and MatthewandBumpsMummy - I'd got down to a size 14 / 16 on waist and a 16 / 18 on top. Am definitely overweight, and got told off by the GP last week, although he backed off when he realised I have managed to get my BMI down from 37 to 32 over the past couple of years.

I'm still in a size 14 skirt today (stretchy one !) but it is actually making me look PG and I really don't want anyone to suspect till after 12 weeks. I don't really want to buy any new clothes till that point either, but am not sure I can last that long for work and my favourite jeans are fairly snug size 16 hipsters that I am certain won't do up any more.

I might just go and buy some cheap size 18 clothes from BHS / Primark to see me through for a while. Think I shall need a maternity bra soon aswell - money money money !

MsG · 29/09/2008 11:08

Yeah, my bras are already feeling tight!! I was a size 14 a few years ago, but it's crept back up. Still, no point worrying now. I'm going to try to cycle and swim throughout pregnancy to stay fit.

I think I'm going to get one of those belly belts. Cheap size 18 clothes sounds like a good idea. xx

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 29/09/2008 11:13

frazzledoldbag34- the doc gave me a 10gm tablet to take daily, dont know how much that is or how much you should have i didnt know anything bout it till she recommened it.

i think im eating the crips and cakes and things for energy fixes really as feel very tired even though i know healthier foods are better for longer lasting energy i think coz im so afraid of the ms starting i know if i eat something i dont feel like its more likely to make me feel bad. im just hoping after the first few mths ill feel better and be able to concentrate more on a healthier diet i think at the mo its just about survival mostly!

thanx MsG i think ill talk to my midwife about it to even though i know what i need to do, get back to walking and swimming then i wont have to worry bout what im eating so much

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 11:14

Fortunately my appetite only rocketed for a couple of days and now I seem to be eating pretty much what I did before, only more healthily as I am finding I really do not want chocolate - very strange for me

I've also had enough energy over the weekend to resume exercise at the gym - managed my usual 4 classes but at lower impact. Hopefully all that will help. I'm not likely to see a midwife till 12 weeks, and am really hoping I can keep weight off and not get told off by her aswell as the GP ! Very conscious that I shouldn't actually diet though and it is difficult to work out where to strike the balance.

MsG · 29/09/2008 11:21

MatthewAndBumpsMummy - maybe try to eat some healthy snacks as well - things like rice cakes with hoummous, olives, oat cakes and cherry tomatoes etc. I know what you mean though - sometimes I can barely be bothered to eat! At the weekend I had chips on Friday night and pizza Saturday! x

Jools1 · 29/09/2008 11:28

I'm carrying bananas and tangerines around with me

Have pitta breads in the freezer to toast from frozen and some houmus in the fridge - my staple snack, along with yoghurts

MsG · 29/09/2008 11:34

I'm going shopping later - going to stock up on fruit and snacks. Yoghurts is a good idea. Mmm! xx
