Just wanted to jump on and say congrats to spanglemaker and jools on your BFPs. I got my BFP last night(!) and am due on 5 June, i am gonna start a June thread now!!

(and of course congrats to the ladies i havent met before! - big waves!!)

Jools1 · 27/09/2008 14:50

Good to see you over here Summerbird I am SO pleased for you

Has it sunk in yet ?? I think it took me the best part of a week to accept it was really happening and start enjoying the feeling of being a potential mummy I haven't smiled or laughed so much in a long time

I may come visit you on the June thread from time to time - my EDD is so close to the end of May, it wouldn't surprise me if this was a June baby. I don't get a dating scan though, so won't know much until I pay for a private nuchal in around 7 weeks.

SpangleMaker · 27/09/2008 15:00

Oooh summerbird congratulations Really pleased for you - well done! It's lovely to see fellow TTC-ers graduating especially, for me, us over-35s who are showing our ovaries are rather sprightly after all! Good luck with your pregancy x

it is bizarre isnt it? i am on a weird come down today (not in a bad way!) just all the excitement from last night has settled and i just dont FEEL pg! Still we started looking at prams and cots today and it felt so surreal!

Hoorah for the over 35 gradutates!

MsG · 27/09/2008 18:30

Hi... Can I join this thread, please? I think I'm due on May 30th. V nervous after having a mc last year, but trying to stay positive.

Feeling nauseous already, plus got trapped wind - lovely!!!

Rubysmom08 · 27/09/2008 19:47

hello all- I have name changed used to be bluebell82- like my new name better!!!

Had to take another test today as I was concerned my symptoms have dropped off but maybe its down to me having this sickness bug and because I feel better.. anyway took one of those spangley new clearblue dig ones that tell you when you have conceived so at least I know I am as far along as I should be hormone level wise!!

Just found out my best friend is pregnant with her first baby! Felt quite bad really I know it's silly but this is my dc2 and of course just as precious as dd1 but no one over shadowed my first preganncy and I feel that I have taken something away from her by being pregnant at the same time- does that sound silly- I doubt she even cares infact she said how pleased she was that we would get fat (ter) together!!!!

I am so glad i can answer all her niggles and of course I have referred her to the bible- mumsnet!

Jools1 · 27/09/2008 19:52

Hello and welcome MrsG

I'd decided I'm only nauseous Mon - Fri so surely it is work that is bad for me and I should stop immediately !

GreenFingeredMummy · 27/09/2008 19:55

Hiya ladies and new folk

Ok all this talk of MS is starting to make me feel icky, and havent even got it this time round, instead I just want to eat, eat, eat, or at least my brain thinks it wants to, stomach not so sure!

Having a rubbish night so far, dd has got most awful cold and cough, spent most of the day trying to convince her that Im not trying to murder her with a tissue, when do they learn to blow into the tissue I wonder. Looks like the rest of the night isnt going to be much better. And somehow Ive got to revise for theory test on Friday, argh too tired!!!

I am amazed at how long the mum-to-be list is, be interesting to know where you are all from. Im from Gateshead.

Big hug to all xx

llareggub · 27/09/2008 20:50

I'm in the Midlands.

My nausea seems to be settling down now, I haven't had any for a couple of days or so. But then I didn't get any MS at all with DS.

I'm still really tired and luckily DS still has a nap so I get to nap every afternoon, too. Every now and then I get the fear about my lack of symptoms but I am looking reassuringly pregnant and of course, I'm shattered. Every so often my norks hurt to buggery and breastfeeding can be a little sore at the moment. So hopefully all OK.

I had my booking-in appointment with the midwife yesterday and I couldn't believe how much I'd forgotten about my last pregnancy. Yesterday I remembered the pain of SPD and the vitamin B12 injections I had to have in the 3td trimester. I'd forgotten it all! The midwife was lovely, far better than the one I had last time.

divedaisy · 27/09/2008 20:57

Welcome MrsG - congrats!

Too tired to even notice any weird dreams! But had a BIG laugh at growing nipples and plaited knee hair!!!!

Frazzled - hows the anti-ms device/ I desperately need something to get rid of this... when I eat I feel sick cos I'm too full, but I 'need' to eat to get rid of the nasty taste and nausea... god, it's such a vicious circle.

I made faitas for dinner and made up 3 for me and DH - he ate one and he insisted I only needed one... so one left on plate... he went out to pub and I scoffed the 3rd one - now feel sick and full! Will tell him it fell off the plate and I gave it to the dogs!!! Then I had a bowl of clotted cream ice-cream and strawberries followed by a big glass of milk.... I think that's all!!

Now I need to deflate!!! Hee Hee!!xx

bekkaboo · 27/09/2008 21:07

Hi everyone, my dreams are so twisted most of time cant tel if real or not when wake up. Im bloody tired today, DS (2) got chickenpox, 3 nights of no sleep but hoping tonight is better, poor thing.

Im in the Midlands too an had fajitas for tea, weird! Anybody finding peppers tasting rotten or just me?

No symptons here still apart from weird dreams, dribbling, and cold!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 27/09/2008 21:19

Hi to you all, have been lurking for a while and thought now is the time to introduce myself, I had a bfp last sunday but I have no idea when I'm due I think end May beginning of June, this will be my 3rd DC ( have 2 DD's 3 and 1)

Have been feeling really strange this week looking for peg symptoms but not finding any v. occasional nauseous twinge, and indigestion but little else not even desperately tired yet...... rubysmom I was thinking of retesting too.... Is anyone else stil getting dull aches deep down ,lower than normal AF pains?

Had my booking in with the MW last week ( after an unsucessful visit to the GP!) they do them earlier now becuse of 12 scans etc. It's the same mw as my last dd so really nice, she even remembered my house good or bad?

Waiting for some really good dreams now and hoping this is the worst that pregnancygives me this time round ( had hyper emersis twice !)

Hope you're all feeling a little better tomorrow and looking forward the next 9 months ( actually that's 8 now yippee!!)

Doris

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/09/2008 21:26

Hi
Just popped in before bed to say hello.
divedaisy - haven't had my i-trans on since lunchtime as I've felt better this afternoon. I think it may have helped this morning as I was feeling HORRIFIC. Am starting to feel a bit grotty again now so might put it on for 1/2 hour before bed and see if it helps me get a good sleep - hate this being woken up by nausea at 4am - it's just awful.
Can't open the fridge this evening - the smell is making me feel very ill! Why do pregnant ladies need to develop a sense of smell like a bloodhound? Also can't go in the playroom as balloons from DD2's party still in there and the smell of them makes me feel faint! Ugh.
Sorry, am moaning again. Hate this nausea. Tempted to up my dose of Vit B6 from 25mg to 50mg daily to see if that helps. Internet seems to think that is fine, but GP says not to as she has no research on B6. Apparently in America it is given out a lot and works for nausea.
And on the subject of dreams mine have been filthy! Quite disturbing really and quite embarrassing too when I remember them next day during a meeting!
Night x

frazzledoldbag34 · 27/09/2008 21:26

oh by the way I'm in Scotland. And I"m cold.

Jools1 · 27/09/2008 21:26
GreenFingeredMummy · 27/09/2008 21:44

Sense of smell during pregnancy is so ridiculous, why do we need to smell everything so well? This times its onions. Last time I couldnt stand brocolli or fish. Makes no sense at all, and I cant wait for the lovely dark line from belly to nethers again, its so attractive!!

I havent had any funny dreams yet, expect stuck walking around local shopping centre is PJ's surrounded by Russians! Not sure on the meaning of that one .

Doris I've been thinking of doing another test too, just dont feel as pregnant as I did before, and where is my lovely clevage, being pregnant is my only chance of a C cup!! Maybe second time is different.

DD is now asleep so maybe tonight might not be so bad.
Hope you all have a good one

Jools1 · 27/09/2008 21:49

I did another test before I went to see my GP - just wanted to double check I wasn't making it all up !!

GreenFingeredMummy · 27/09/2008 21:56

Wouldnt it be embarrasing if you went to docs and werent pregnant

Might give it another week...

Ok going to bed now, BFN x

flippineck · 27/09/2008 21:58

Evening all! just thought I'd come online and wallow about my all day and night sickness - I'm sure you won't mind

I never felt this bad with DD, it's horrendous. Haven't been sick, but almost wish I could be. Mootie - where do you get your ginger pills from? I've found this time that I can't eat anything ginger because it makes my heartburn worse . And everything smells terrible to me - on Thursday I couldn't stand the smell of my whole house! I had to open every single window and freeze.

Sorry, I'll stop complaining now, it's all good really

flippineck · 27/09/2008 21:59

PS - nice shiny new thread!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 27/09/2008 23:47

Welcome, congratualtions and hello to the newbies.

I too have a bionic sense of smell, which is particularly prone to twitching when dh rolls in after a sly post work pint.

Also have horrendous ms - well all-day sickness really, but also not yet actually been sick. Not had any wierd dreams yet - am so bloody tired - too tired to dream.

I am in Adelaide, South Australia Greenfingeredmummy. Here we don't see a midwife at all - until hospital, it's all Obstetrician led care from the off.

Dandelioness · 28/09/2008 01:15

Hi,

Gosh this thread moves at a clip!

Spangle - I know what you mean about the flapjacks. They are actually rather naughty. I was trying to think only of saintly snacks when I gave me list of suggestions, but then I thought ah, fuck it, and threw the flapjacks in

I'm in London. I got a letter today giving me an appt with a midwife at the beg of Nov. Ages to wait, although I don't mind as there's really nothing they can do anyway at the moment.

I've been feeling rather breathless today when I've had to climb stairs. Anyone else feeling that? Or is it just me being very unfit and calling it a 'pregnancy symptom' instead?

CoteDAzur · 28/09/2008 06:29

I'm also quite breathless - almost feels like back when I smoked.

Still no morning sickness, and I feel quite normal at slightly over 5 weeks. Which is why I went to Les Vendanges de Cannes last night which meant walking between all these twenty-something shops in heels in early evening, not being able to taste the wine & champagne, nor eat the soft cheese. Realized quickly that this wasn't fun when pregnant, headed back to the car, and couldn't find it. Pregnancy brain couldn't remember where it was

frazzledoldbag34 · 28/09/2008 08:24

Woke up this morning at 4am as usual feeling v nauseous. Had 1/2 banana and went back to sleep to have a LOVELY dream about Eddie Izzard! Oooh I do fancy him (in the Riches particuarly). Cheered me up no end.
Woke up again at 7 and put my i-trans thing on as was feeling dreadful. It buzzed away for about 1/2 hour then the kids woke up. Must say I did feel better after it being on. Have it on again for another 1/2 hour cycle at the mo as had a bit of a sick wobble coming downstairs and opening the fridge .and definitely feel more human and less sicky now.
So divedaisy despite being a bit unsure yesterday if it had helped I defiitely think it has helped with the nausea this morning. I got mine on ebay although there are lots of online places that sell them. Apparently theres also another thing called a 'Relief Band' but that's even more expensive at about £85 I think - does the same thing but it less cumbersome I guess. Anyway have also increased my B6 up to 50mg per day so fingers crossed that will help too. Just can't function with severe nausea and with 2 small kids and my own business it's just not funny!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 28/09/2008 09:45
