hello all,
i feel very strange today very period painy but constant uncomfortablness(if thats a word) im feeling very irritable too. i really hope this is a sign that things are gonna happen soon.

oh star dont listen to them.
when my dd was a baby i remember asking health visitor about people alsways holding her coz i was worried she would never want to be put down and she said theres no such thing as spoiling a new baby that if u want to hold them then do so.
so enjoy

jenwa · 05/10/2008 15:00

alexa congrats, will go look at your birth story!

CSWS in case I forget, hope all goes well tomorrow although hoping things happen naturally tonight for you.

Had bit of row with DH this am. He was annoying me by not getting up and I seem to be the one always sorting DD so said he needs to help as when dd2 arrives I WILL NEED HELP. He says he does help and anyway I got upset and not sure if anything really resolved but we will see when dd2 arrives.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 05/10/2008 15:06

wow flipping heck - congrats star and bethoo and alexa, coming thick and fast aren't they now?

AJM am keping fingers crossed she turns on her own and/or stays put when they turn her for you...

ronshar · 05/10/2008 15:16

Jenwa. I dont think that they some times understand how important it is to us to feel like they give us enough support. Especially at time like this when we are feeling very vulnerable as we prepare to give birth to another baby.
My DH told me this morning that I was taking it all too seriously! Too bloody seriously? I said that I was worried as we had the two girls and how I was going to cope with HB and them if he wasnt here or if he had been drinking. Should explain we had friends for dinner and he worked his way through two bottles of wine last night.
Not normally a problem but what if I deliver real fast??? So yes I amy be taking it seriously but someone has to. I think he thinks it will just appear by magic and nothing will have to change.
Maybe that is what your DH is hopeing, Jenwa, that nothing will change and it will be easy for him?

ajm200 · 05/10/2008 15:28

CSWS good luck for tomorrow.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/10/2008 15:46

Congratulations Alexa . Do you know her weight in lbs and ozs?!

Thanks for all the good wishes for tomorrow ladies. Booked in for 2pm, so will still be around a bit in the morning.

good luck fir tomorrows csws and hope it all goes ok. i think joes about to start the marathon bf for tonight - only lasted 3 hours last night. he was asleep at 7.30 pm then woke at 11pm, 2am and 6am for feeds so feel a bit more human today.

here's a question - i am guessing its normal for him to have a few hours where he wants to feed a lot - should that happen every night????
ds1 was a colicky baby for several hours each night so i guess i should be glad that joe doesn't scream like ds1 did....dh is convinced my milk is not 'good enough'....

ajm200 · 05/10/2008 16:26

LouLou You must be tired after such marathon BF sessions and so little sleep. It sounds like Joe is dreamfeeding and sucking for comfort rather than food.

DS was an expert at this until I was shown the difference by a MW/BF counsellor.

I found it helpful to tickle his cheeks/neck when his sucking lessened, he'd perk up and start sucking vigorously again and when that stopped working after 15 mins or so I'd move him from side to side. It cut his feeding times dramatically and he was gaining a lb a week and sleeping through by 6 weeks.

Good luck with it

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/10/2008 16:40

Cluster feeding in the evening very common loulou. He's just building up your supply, so you can assure your dh that your milk is the most perfect food in the world for him .

star6 · 05/10/2008 19:18

Congrats to all the october babies!!! Yeah!! I can't wait to find out who is next! I'm a bit exhausted... still anaemic (hb level 8.5). looking pale, feeling exhausted and a bit dizzy... surprised my milk has come in actually. But just love having a ds! We are loving every single moment with him as we know he won't be this little forever. he's amazing. everything we ever wanted - and dh had no idea he would feel this way. it's really cute watching him with him!

WheresTheAuPair · 05/10/2008 19:25

Good luck for tomorrow CSWS hope it all goes well

Ronshar and jenwa I have the same problem with DH-I know i'm booked in for CS but have been warned by consultant that as they are doing it late (39 weeks) I may go naturally which means I'll need to get to hospital pretty quick (have CS scar that's not healed well and another big baby expected-consultant doesn't like the look of the scar to risk delivering naturally). I swear DH loses track of how many beers he's had and it will be a darn long cab drive to hospital as its over 30 miles away!

Also, it feel like unless I do it-nothing would get done or be ready for this baby. Today finally the IT stuff is out of the baby's room but its such hard work getting him to do stuff! I feel like i've been running myself blo*dy ragged today so am now skiving off while he bathes DS.

Would LOVE a glass of chilled white wine mmm

rowanmac · 05/10/2008 19:30

star, fab news we were worried about you, good name. I agree with advice from here, no reason for formula and cuddle as much as you want.
Congrats also to bethoo and alexa. I like the names.

Iron gives me stomach cramps, diarrhoea and makes me sick whoever was asking, I've stopped taking it as lots of cramps and couldn't work out what was going on.

Baby went absolutely mental last night when I got into bed, really sore, head is right down and it felt like it had all 4 limbs braced on my pelvis and trying to pull it out again. Gasped with pain and was up to loo every 15 mins. Had to get up in the end. fortunatly went to sleep after that.

I've done 5 hours of gardening today on top of 4 hours yesterday, have sore shoulders from putting trampoline springs on yesterday. Had a bounce today but pelvic floor not that good so v short bounce. If this baby does decide to appear tonight I'll be too tired to push!

Good luck csws, hope to hear good news soon.

ajm200 · 05/10/2008 19:33

Hi everyone.. not had a lot of PC time today and have been posting questions about my pending ECV rather than catching up with everyone's new - sorry

Glad those of you who already have your babies are enjoying motherhood and sending good birthing vibes to the rest of you. Off to spend some time laying upside down to with frozen peas on my tummy to get this lo shifting up out of my pelvis to improve my chances on Tues. glamorous eh

sambrads · 05/10/2008 20:46

hi ladies all is well here brooke is feeding brill and sleeping well

4andnotout · 05/10/2008 20:51

Sambrads cabbage leaves in your bra will ease painful boobs Looks really glamorous too

sambrads · 05/10/2008 21:01

i swear my boobs are into my armpits its madness

jenwa · 05/10/2008 21:05

ronshar Yeh, maybe he thinks it will all be the same and maybe he thinks I will cope fine , they dont seem to think things will change and then they are the ones who become shocked when it does! DH and me had very difficult time after DD1 was born, I dont think he realised how things would change and coulc not also understand how I was not up to nookie after a 3rd degree tear
You say about your DH saying you are taking it too seriously but we are women and need to have some sort of plan and know that they are at least going to help out, and yes it actaully does need to be taken seriously (its not like we are buying a new car)!!!!

WTAP I did have a glass of wine tonight, felt I needed one . DH now just gone to pub , they do need a kick up the arse dont they, they dont seem as stressed as us. Bet it would be different if we told them that once baby arrived they had to do everything whilst we were looked after in hosp for 2 weeks....ha ha would love to see look on DH's face !!!!

CSWS Were you pleased with Xfactor? I actually was as think good choices. (if you had chance to watch it!)

sambrads think milk will just dry up ut may take a little while. I stopped BF DD1 at 5 weeks and took about 4 ish days, god I cant really remember. Sorry!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/10/2008 21:13

I did watch it jenwa. Was shocked that the only 'dead cert' I had picked from Cheryl's lot didn't go through , but on the whole it's a good crowd. Think that Simon's are actually the weakest this time around. Think that Danni was wrong to put through sob story guy though. He seems a lovely bloke, but missing the X-Factor, and think that he's there more because of his back story than his voice.

OP posts:
jenwa · 05/10/2008 21:22

csws, ah, I like that bloke but then thats what makes good watching all having different tastes, maybe he is not actually pop star material though and maybe the other one was? I would have picked the ones Cheryl did and think maybe she has a winner or one of the groups. You just never know and we will prob be far to knackered to watch the rest of them when little ones here!!! Good luck again tomorrow.

By the way, just seen AQ birth story on twins thread, seems she had a good birth and lovely names too.

bethoo · 05/10/2008 22:33

hi ladies just a quick hello as dp is here and feel ignorant when he is here winding Maia! he is good esp as he is not the father but he was there most of the birth and even put her first nappy on and clothes!

anyway i started getting cramps which were quite reg at about 7 pm then called a friend to keep an eye on Hayde nwhile i had a bath, called hosp as was not getting better, by the time i got to hosp at 8ish i was 6 cm dilated and she was born at 1150. dont want to say too much but gave birth standing up adn only had gas and air as was too far gone to have pethidine! had to stop using gas and air at the end as i stopped pushing on it!

had to stay in as labour was so quick did not get all my IV for Group b strep so Maia had to stay for observation for 24 hours.

bethoo · 05/10/2008 22:35

oh and congrats to all the other ladies.

i did not get any stitches yay, dps eyes lit up as the thought that he would not have to wait too long crossed his mind

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/10/2008 06:03

Oh well done bethoo - lovely and quick .

Well we tried the natural prostaglandin method, and it hasn't worked, so I'll be off for some pig semen later . Been awake since 5, so will be knackered before I even start!

snowymum · 06/10/2008 06:22

Well here's hoping that it's the smoothest, most efficient and calm induction ever - as I'm sure it will be. Best of luck for it x

ajm200 · 06/10/2008 07:29

Good morning ladies. Been up all night and kept looking to see if anyone was about. Now that so many of you early risers have had your babies it is surprisingly quiet on here pre-dawn.

Good luck CSWS.. hope the induction is quick and you just need the gel so that it is as close to a natural birth as you can get.

It'll be great to hear another birth story. Its amazing how many babies are here already.

belgo · 06/10/2008 08:13

ajm - dh has been letting me have a lie in as I can't sleep at night.

Hope the appointment goes well for you today.
