AJM what a pain DS was a footling breech too but not recognized until he stated getting into distress for other reasons so at last it has been spotted. Good luck with the EVC on a positive note the LO hasn't been stuck there for a long time and so hopefully he can be coaxed back into a head down position. How many weeks are you?

ajm200 · 03/10/2008 18:34

I'm 38 weeks on wednesday but was told today that the mw's guesstimate looking at my bump would be nearer 33 weeks and baby is only a 6lber. Having a small baby is supposedly a plus point...

Did they manage to turn you DS or did you end up with an E-CS?

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 03/10/2008 18:40

just trying to catch up having been awol all week - hope inductions all go smoothly.

am finally on maternity leave so a week ahead of pregnancy massage, yoga and general getting ready for baby...will keep more in touch from now on so can write proper messages to everyone

Honeymoonmummy · 03/10/2008 18:58

Evening all!

Oh I'm jealous Girl, I've still got a week of work left yet!

Where does everyone go for pregnancy massage? I live in a small town so doubt there'll be anywhere nearby...

ajm200 · 03/10/2008 19:12

Honeymoonmummy Clarins spas in big dept stores and Virgin active gyms with spas do them.

Aubergenie · 03/10/2008 19:19

Thanks for all the positive messages ladies. Although I'm really nervous, I feel much calmer than I was earlier.

Apparently my cervix is 1 cm long (as 1.5 on Monday) and soft, but still posterior but I'm not sure what all that means. I think it means that I'm not totally unfavourable, but not exactly favourable either. I've been walking bouncing and just ordered the hottest curry I could find in a last ditch attempt to start things off on their own.

Bloody Hell ajm - you've had one hell of a couple of weeks haven't you.

hedgepig · 03/10/2008 19:34

AJM they only picked up the breech at 40 weeks when I went in for a check because of reduced fetal movement and they also found I had no amniotic fluid (So no chance to try and turn him) so since the reduced movements indicated fetal distress plus the rest I went straight to a cs that afternoon.
Hence, my comment about at least they have picked it up for you . A small baby is good as there is more room for him/her to move when they try the ECV.
Aubergine enjoy the curry

sambrads · 03/10/2008 19:40

ajm200 · 03/10/2008 19:56

I actually picked it up.. commented that either this little one has a very boney bum or she's the wrong way up, whilst chatting to my MW in the way to the reflexology room hence the checkup and scan

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/10/2008 20:04

Congratulations sambrads .

AJM well done you picking it up...my mw used to go on about a boney bum pity she didn't follow it up and as a naive 1st time mum I didn't think anything of it!

CSWS. DO not ask me to help keep stats up to date while you are away having your baby. As I have just proved I am crap.

Wow have you read Sambrads birth story. Bloody excellent.

AJM. As a multip you should be allowed to try and deliver baby if you want to try. It is normally only first timers they discourage from breech delivery.
I am not sure I would try but then I dont want a C-section so who knows. I really hope your ECV works. It is also possible to turn babies whilst in labour so even if you go early this weekend it isnt the end of the world.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/10/2008 21:06

ronshar.

re breech ajm. Fingers crossed for ECV. Seems to be working well for everyone else at the moment.
