Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

MerryM, I would love thta. A game of pool. How are we going to manage that with your ds, and twins, adn my ds and baby ? [hmmm]

Yes, my dh is very quick witted. Not many people put one past him.

Sorry to hear of Daisy's streaming eyes.

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/09/2008 23:07

I'm sorry for not being around over the weekend or even reading to catch up with the posts, but thought I should just check in before tomorrow as we are going away in the morning until Friday night. Fingers crossed baby stays put! "See you" soon!

Oblomov · 29/09/2008 08:11

Have a lovely time Heart2mum. Are you the last of our Novemberies that is going on holiday ? I am so jealous.
I am still being very sick. I vomitted this morning. And strained myself. And had blood pouring out of my nose. Not good. Will see what Kings team say today. No ketones, though, so that is something. It is just a bit grim.

I am starting to get very uncomfortable. Permanently.

mum2becks · 29/09/2008 08:48

Morning everyone!

I have just put a post under 'pregnancy' but thought you lovely ladies may be able to help! I have had really bad back pain in the night, so much so that how ever I laid it didnt improve. I still have it this morning and its painful to walk about and when I'm sitting down. I havent had any previous back ache at all and didnt with my first pregnancy, dont know what has suddenly caused it but need to ease it somehow as in a lot of pain!!

Sorry for the me post

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 09:08

Hey all,

Thanks so so much for all the hugs and stuff over the weekend - I am now on my week off and feeling guilty as hell but very very pleased not to have to drive to and from work and teach all week!

DH is helping with the guilt by asking me to do errands like taking the floor sander back to the hire shop . I have refused on the grounds of wtf and explained to him that he is bad for my blood pressure.

He has been 50% wonderful and 50% crap this weekend - was amazing on Friday night in the hosp but then went out on the piss on Saturday and was horrible and verbally unpleasant when he came home and slept on sofa. Last night he confessed he was finding me not being able to do anything really weird and disconcerting and was also starting to feel left out of the picture, so I've been doing some there thereing.

Obs, you poor thing - that sounds awful. IKWYM about the straining yourself thing - I got a 24 hr D&V thing last weekend (the fun chez Saurus never stops, ladies) and nearly had an "accident" while I was throwing up [ewwwwwwww emoticon]. Sorry for TMI. I too am not at all comfortable and just want to get through the next 6 weeks with enough sleep and as few aches and pains as poss. Sending you a virtual cuppa and a hug .

Yay holiday Heartmum - hope you're going somewhere nice and that baby behaves itself.

Btw, anyone else think this is a really nice thread? I have been reading the discussion about baby gender and was gobsmacked by the amount of sniping. Mind you, it was on AIBU, so hey. But I still think we are v nice and supportive here [wipes hormonal tear from corner of eye].

mum2beck I've seen an Obs physiotherapist about back pain. Apparently it is your muscles and bones relaxing and especially common when you wake up in the middle of the night because everything is VERY relaxed. I suffered for about 4/5 weeks with horrendous pain in lower back, hips and pelvis. VERY COMMON. She did give me a very large piece of tubagrip (available from BOOTS) to put round my tummy and to support my lower back. I have to say it really did help plus she gaveme some exercises. Not much else we can do apparently. I used to get up in teh night and feel like someone had take a few of my verterbrae (OMG I CAN NOT SPELL SINCE BEING PREGNANT) and that my back felt like it couldn't support the rest of my body. ALAS... i am still here and not on the floor in a heap!

OBS sorry you've been feeling POORLY.

Sauraus YEY... you're fit and well, other than a slightly dodgy cervix, and more cooking being required for mini sauraus.

I woke up this morning with the most awful stomach ache and thought "YIKES it's happening", alas it would appear i am constipated! Have some Luctose which pharmasist recommended however, it takes a couple of days to work and in the meantime gives you a horrible feeling tummy as if you've eaten something that was off. Anyway, i feel like I need a regular dose of something. Anyone know of anything else we can take that works quicker?

Pinkyminkee · 29/09/2008 09:44

Hi all
have a fabby time, mum2beck.

Sorry you are feeling so sicky still. obs I tend to get a bit of a nosebleed when I'm sick, it's not pleasant.

ruthO floor sanders??? wtf?? glad you said no. Menare a a bit inconsistend when it comes to being sympathetic, and 9 months is a bit too long for them to sustain it- or even a weekend Hope you can let it all wash over you, emotions are running very high now, I would think.

Dropped my little boy off for his first day at nursery today He was very excited and kept telling everybody his name and that today was a very special day. bless I do hope he's ok, but he's only 10 mins up the road.

HM2J sorry about your back, sounds horrid. Has the baby decided to sit on a nreve or something?

Pinkyminkee · 29/09/2008 09:46

doh!! Got HM2J and mum2becks mixed up again very sorry.

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 09:49

Pinkali dried apricots seem to work for me pretty instantly but it is VERY uncomfortable - not a great solution. Have you tried having porridge and orange juice for breakfast? My grandma swears by prune juice but even the thought of it is making me want to throw up.

Mum2backs I'm with you all the way on the back pain - when I get up in the night I stagger around, propping myself up on walls and whimpering and it is always worse in the morning . The only thing that seems to work is getting up and walking around until it doesn't hurt any more, which is really annoying. Mm, tubigrip - sexy. I thought when I got pregnany that I might get myself some nice pregnancy underwear - no-one told me I wouldn't care what it looked like as long as it was supportive and comfy. I was clearing out the wardrobe last month and marvelled at how tiny and girly my old pants and bras were - it's like I wore them in another life!

OP posts:
Pinkyminkee · 29/09/2008 09:53

re apricots..TMI alert. I was constipated last week. AS of last night I most definitely not. I am hoping things settle to normal instead of one extreme to the other at some point.

Off to post my secret Stork.. I hope I'm not late.. am I late with it?

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 10:06

Mum2becks, sorry - we're all getting your name wrong today. I'm blaming it on having big fat fingers that can't type. Also, pregnancy is making me reaaaaaally stoopid.

Yeah, apricots are a bit explosive. Eat them in the bathroom and don't ignore any warning signs.

TMI alert I have a friend (honest, it's not me, I would admit to it) who actually had an "accident" in her car when pregnant - she ignored the signs and thought she could get home. And didn't. Since then, I NEVER eat apricots at work and always visit the loo before I travel...

Pinky do you think it's nature's way of getting you used to nappies, in the same way that getting up to wee 5 times in the night is supposed to get you used to night feeding?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/09/2008 10:12

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the lovely weather!

I agree with monkey I think our thread is lovely - even if we have totally different opinions on things, we all respect and love one another - Love it!

what will happen once the babies start arriving - will we start another thread or keep posting on this one???? WQho has experience of this??!!!

hearmum have a great time in CP - don't go having that baby early now!!

DM xx

Dozymare · 29/09/2008 10:29

pinkee have you made any mussies yet? would love to see what they look like!!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/09/2008 10:32

On my June 07 thread we started a postnatal thread pretty quickly (it was pretty quiet for a bit though), and people were posting on that and the AN thread for a while until all the babies were born, then the PN thread took over.

I have dosed DD up on nurofen (scared of calpol now!) and put her back to bed. In spite of her grumbling No all the way upstairs she has gone off without a murmur.

I'm off back to bed for an hour now to catch up as I didn't sleep at all well last night, runny nose, coughing, needing to wee and police helicopters all contributing to keeping me awake!

MerryMarigold · 29/09/2008 10:54

Oh dear, everyone sounds like they're "in the wars", as my Dad would say. Sorry about cold Lacks, I hate colds and esp. blocked nose, but I am quite fond of snot.

Obs, the sick thing sounds really bad, has it got worse again or is it always this bad? I can't imagine it. How can you even contemplate scrabble?!! I get scared when blood is not congealing. I cut myself on blimming pricker today when swapping the needles, swiped it quite deeply across my thumb, clever. Btw, it was margot not me who plays pool. I was okaaaaaaay at one point, well when I was 21 to be truthful, but not played since really. I'm afraid it would be like me playing Lacks and Margot at scrabble!!

Heartmum, have a great hol! You're probably off by now. Don't forget the car seat!

Saurus, the SANDER! Those things are so heavy. Maybe dh is just processing all his worry and concern in very odd ways (likely that was what the piss up was about). In my vast experience, men are not very good at working out what they are feeling, and then it comes out in weird and sometimes unpleasant ways. We've all got our cervixes crossed for you .

constipation, apricots really? I eat them all the time! (And still have 'issues'). I have porridge with prunes every morning. If I'm desperate, cabbage works well for me, though I don't really like it. And stir fry full of veg also goes through me quickly. Also, and this may sound a bit odd, but just thinking about it for 15 minutes or so seems to make it work.

Pinkee, i haven't done SS yet. I thought it was end of September. I am a last minute gal, that means 30th for me!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/09/2008 11:03

thanks for the reminder on the SS MerryM. I have a couple of bits to pick up today and then I'm ready for the PO.

LolaBella · 29/09/2008 11:17

Morning
Sorry to hear that some people are feeling so rough. I'm another one suffering from a cold today and am off work as a result. Feel patethic for calling in sick 'just for a cold' but it has wiped me off my feet and can't really take anthing for it either

Only two weeks of work left now though so i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Last night dp took himself off in a huff to the spare room announcing that 'he had no room in bed' In fact we have spent a few nights apart recently as i struggle to sleep with his snoring and he stuggles to sleep when i have to get up five times plus per night on toliet breaks. We are due to get married next year but at this rate we won't be getting anywhere near the alter. Please someone tells me it gets easier?? (who am i kidding! [hmmm])

Oblomov · 29/09/2008 11:20

Sorry, Merry, You were right. It was MonkeyM who plays pool.
I just have to tell everyone. I was playing scrabble with MerryM. Now I don't like playing with Lacks and Margot. They are too good.
But I used all my tiles and got 91 points. I am well chuffed. This is from someone who is totally crap at scrabble. The word was 'bromide'. Now that is GOOD.

I had my first scrabble game the other day completed. Lost to ChocO - no surprise there then. I didn't mind. I enjoyed the game immensely.

Oblomov · 29/09/2008 11:27

Lolabella. Totally normal I am afriad. Please don't worry. Dh has spent quite a few nights on the sofabed. He did last pg. Apparently my snoring is getting worse. And i got up for a wee 6 times last night. I have never had to before - been a lady who kept getting up for a wee - so that was a new one.

Please don't worry. Altar here you come. Wait till the feeding and the tiredness of the first few weeks kicks in. If you manage to remember each others name, and manage a kiss, as you pass in the kitchen, then you are doing o.k.

Oblomov · 29/09/2008 11:30

Just spoken to Kings. Pump nurse and MW. They are happy. I have to just battle on with the sickness. Fair enough. So long as they don't admit me, anything is o.k. with me.

Pinkyminkee · 29/09/2008 11:42

DH is making complaints about how uncomfy the bed is now I am officially huge. The poor love. Good job we bought a sofa bed.

Well, no phonecall from school so DS must be ok.

DM yes I have made some bibs and burpies, will try to pur some up tonight if I get chance.

Oblomov I do find the puking gets more violent later on in PG. I hope you are ok.

lacks have emmailed you

LackaDAISYcal · 29/09/2008 11:53

My Dh has taken to hanging onto the duvet for grim life. I toss and turn what must be hundreds of times a night given the state of the sheet in the morning and steal the duvet. If I wake up I make sure I cover him up though

I've just put on a long sleeved maternity top that I bought from next ages ago.......and it only covers half my bump. I look ridiculous; like I have swallowed a pumpkin!

Oblomov · 29/09/2008 11:58

LOL Daisy @ Pumpkin.
I look like that - a beach ball. My best friend said that it made my bum look smaller. I do have a Jen-Lopez bum, naturally.
