Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

OP posts:

I'm sure the top of that post is missing - was meant to read "Hi Vbab, sorry about your kneeing and fall - sounds like you're having a bumpy day".

I'm pretty sure there were shout-outs to others as well but I can't keep up!

Saurus I think my boobs are shrinking - I was hoping for some booby-benefit during pregnancy but I've had nothing!

I wouldn't mind but it means that if I forget what pants I'm wearing I have no way of finding out without a mirror - I can't comfotably see them from any angle.

saurus Don't get too excited about the top!

There is a very good reason why you can't see your bum regularly. If I could see mine all the time I would never leave the house! Remember- we have just had to replace the sofas, and I suspect my thrid pregnancy bum has a little to do with that!

lol at Sparkles big kneed baby! MY MIL always recounts how the MW thought her baby had two heads, so the knees must seem quite huge!

vbab I hate getting in and out of the bath- I hope you are ok.

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 16:35

Ahh - I'm sitting in my comfy chair, with my fat arse spreading the full radius across, having scoffed some of my freshly baked Victoria sponge cake. Watching Factory Girl - I have to say, Sienna Miller ain't half bad in it.
Re. family etc, can I have a quick rant please...
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it previously, but my MIL really pisses me off. She couldn't be less interested in the fact we're having a baby, despite it being her first grandchild. I don't just mean that from a purely selfish perspective, in that I appreciate your own children are clearly about a million times more interesting to you than to anyone else. But she literally won't even MENTION it on the (few) occasions we've seen her whilst I've been PG. Example - we arrive in France the other week, and despite the fact we haven't seen her for 2 or 3 months, she literally doesn't acknowledge the bump/baby or any of it! I find it most odd. When my mum said to her, "you must be so excited!", her reply was, "No, I don't like babies. Only like them after 18 months or so". I find it really rude.
When my DH said to her, (in an attempt to get her to talk about it), "It's only 8 weeks til the baby arrives", her response was a very terse, "You won't know what's hit you".
It's upset DH so much, he and MIL aren't even talking at the moment

misdee · 23/09/2008 16:43

well ladies...

saw my midwife today, baby is measuring 34 weeks (am 32 weeks, 33 tomorrow) so not too big.

and and and

i have a double appointment next week to go through all the home birth stuff!

cant wait

[dances wildly as hips will allow]

sparkletoes · 23/09/2008 16:45

{shock} at MIL comments MonkeyM! Sounds like there are serious issues going on with her...

Pinkyminky - Luckily the MW didn't say that to me about 2 heads! But she was adam ant that it was breech which now annoys me slightly as she could have said she just 'thought' it was breech but would need scan to confirm instead of being so definate about it!

LadyBuzz · 23/09/2008 16:47

Yes please Monkeymargot start a game and I will play with you. Have you tried word twist? I am addicted!
I've just gone past one of them line painting and road tarring vans and OMG it smelled lush - What a freak!
Watch put for Matalan cheap belly waders they are great round the top but a bit tight on the legs - or maybe its just my thunder thighs

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 16:53

LadyBuzz and Dozy - have started a 3-way game of Scrabble with you both. I warn you now, I'm quite competitive....!

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 16:58

monkeymarogt and ladybuzz cOUNMT ME IN ON THE SCRAbble!!! just cooking kids dinner, took me 20 mins to catch up but weil be back on later PURLEASE amazing news, very happy for you!

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 16:58

Ohh misdee whats the home birth appointment all about??? I want one, an appointment that is - if baby plays ball then HB is the way we're going!

Monkey very sorry to hear about your MIL - hope she perks up when she see's your lovely LO.

PS - Monkey I am very jealous of the scrabble game! Can I play too please, tomorrow I am "working from home" so should be able to allocate some (lots!) of time to it!

misdee · 23/09/2008 17:02

choc, just have to go through everything like who to call, when, where, and arrnage the finer details i guess.

have double checked they can bring me gas and air as well

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 17:05

Choc - sorry! My brain is frazzled! I will start a seperate game for you and me

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 17:42

How exciting misdee - I hope I will get to do that in a couple of weeks, they said they discuss it at 36 weeks so only 1 and a half to go!! Gas and air was the first thing I checked! At the top of DH's checklist was whether the MW's would clean up!! [typical emoticon]

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 18:01

Monkey I have managed to access the world of scrabble and am going to kick your butt!!

Oblomov · 23/09/2008 18:13

Hi guys.
Just touching base.
Great news from Kings, Will tell you all later or tomorrow.

MummyNic · 23/09/2008 18:13

Hi everyone. Well that's me finished at work today. Actually had a really productive meeting which was nice, almost sad to give up work! But now I realise that I don't have to set my alarm for 6am....

choc I think my boobs have shrunk too, certainly not any bigger - it's very disappointing.

I bought some lovely pants from Tesco on Sunday - 5 for £2.50! They're under bump ones but I just wanted some that I wouldn't mind throwing away - I have been in big pants (no lace, no thongs) since I found out I was pregnant - so comfortable!!!

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 18:15

MIsdee that is fabby news about your home birth! How exctitng!

Monkey sorry about your MIL. Some people do beahve very oddly towards PG people. I hope she gets over it when your little one arrives.

misdee · 23/09/2008 18:52

are we doing the secret stork sending off soon? as really need to get a few bits and bobs sorted before my house move goes ahead. as am chasing up people this week to try and get moved in about 2 weeks time at the latest.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 19:01

great news on the home birth misdee.

enjoy the calm before the storm MummyNic.

Obs...you can't do that. you are cruel to us making us wait

big pants.......don't have any, but I normally wear shorts types which are sitting nicely under my bump and are very comfy. Can't wear anything with elastic around the legs (or middle ) as I react badly and come out in contact dermatitis. Not much fun in your bum crack I can tell you!!

One thing I have noticed though is that the elastic on my over bump jeans is no longer over the bump, and it keeps wriggling to below my bump if I sit for too long.

at your MIL MonkeyM. I'm sure the first time the wee peach gazes up at her and smiles, she will be smitten, but it's unfortunate that she is suffering fron FootinGob-itis. I hope it isn;t hereditary . My MIL is a bit of a witch as well sometimes. When DS was born they offered me £100 to get something for the baby. Roll forward six years and a marriage later and they gave us £300 for DD. So either inflation decreed a huge hike, or a marriage certificate is worth about £200 per baby in their eyes! she also likes to mention frequently about the fact that DH missed out on DSs early life (and that was my fault, how?.....DH was the one who "wasn't ready"). But meh....I can't be bothered getting worked up about it any more (I used to do...lots) and we get on on a superficial level at least. I don't even think she said anything to me personally when my mum died at the beginning of the year; just passed on a message through DH when it happened and never mentioned her again.

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 19:24

Lacks - Crikey, your MIL sounds even worse than mine. Is she so emotionally retarded as to be incapable of expressing sympathy over the death of your mum? I hope that when our LO arrives, mine will stop being such a fuckwit.
LOL over big pants.

Choc - I admire your confidence in whipping my ass in Scrabble. Let battle commence!

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 19:30

Locing the scrabble!!!!!!! Choc orange start a game with me as well, that way when I am awake in the middle of the night I can do something that uses my brain!!!!

Also can't believe the MIL - and I thought mine was bad!!!!!

Am I being really slack - I am not even worried I haven't packed my hospital bag? Will I live to regret it?!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/09/2008 19:40

Secret stork!!! I knew there was something I hadn't done yet and to think, it has been bugging me for about a week, lol!

Misdee, I am thrilled (and a little jealous) for you! My midwife won't commit to a homebirth until I am 37 weeks (or 36+5 as that's when my appt is). A lot is resting on the results of my growth scan tomorrow and the results of the repeat blood draw I had yesterday.

Whoever it was that mentioned boobs, I think mine may have shrunk as well.

Might have to go and check out the scrabble application on Facebook but have to admit to being a terrible speller, lol!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 19:40

oooh, I'll play scrabble as well please. Is it the facebook one?

MonkeyMargot; DH is on the case and will check it all tomorrow and get back to you.

so much for putting the DCs to bed early (both in bed by 6:15). DD has been up once as she had lost her arm in her sleeve and was lying on the sleeve screaming "stuck" and DS has been up four times now asking for a drink of water.
