Hi ladies,

Left you in April after having miscarriage but have now joined April 09 group. Had 12 week scan today and all looks fine .

Thanks for all the support when I needed it.

Best of luck with your little ones - not long to go now.

chocolategal · 23/09/2008 12:15

hanaflower i have bought pants, also the m&s 7 for a fiver in the size bigger than i normally am although my friend who has just recently given birth says they will be too big and i should have bought my usual size

purlease. I have been keeping it all crossed for you over the last few weeks. Fantastic news from the scan

Pinkali37 · 23/09/2008 12:42

Purlease - What lovely news!!! Hope you stay healthy and happy

VBAB - Sorry to hear about your slip, hope you are feeling better

Big knickers, well I bought the dress size above BUT i have put weight on on my legs. In fact i look like a wobbly piece of pork!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 12:49

oh, pinkali, that comment about the pork is taking me back. After I had had the spinal for my section last year, I was moved over onto the operating trolley, but had to help get my legs sorted. It feld so weird, picking up my legs and moving them; I couldn't feel me touching them, and to my hands they felt just like big slabs of meat. I said to DH, if that's what copping a feel of my thighs feels like, it's no wonder you don't do it very often. The theatre staff were killing themselves laughing and poor DH was mortified

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 12:51

there was someone posting on here yesterday about free doulaing as she needs one more birth for her portfolio....scroll down the thread a bit. I think she was Coventry way if that's anywhere near you?

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 13:09

Hello! Purlease - what fabulous news. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. It doesn't seem like 5 mins since the 12 week stage. It's flown by!
Vbab - hope your back is OK. Are you still getting those funny turns? Make sure you do eat properly.
Re. big pants, I've been wearing my normal size from M&S, but obviously they don't come up as high as normal. I don't think I can stomach wearing those ones that come all the way up your tummy (like my Mum wears)
Heartmum - as LackaDAISY mentions, there was definitely a West Mids based Doula looking for someone to practice on (so to speak!). You're based in South Staffs aren't you, so not too far away?
Am starting to feel semi-human again after 4 hours sleep. I've just baked a cake , and am looking forward to a lazy afternoon on the sofa with cups of tea and cake. I'm soooo glad I can work from home when needed. I really feel for those who have to commute into central London on a daily basis, like Autumnlady and Hanaflower.
Does anyone here love Scrabble by the way?

LadyBuzz · 23/09/2008 13:10

Excellent news Purlease good luck with everything
Vbab please look after yourself you have been in the wars lately!
HM2J you got told off for cuddling your own baby too much that is just .

I'm really interested in the talk about parenting and up bringings, I too always felt like my DB was preferred and had confidence issues and was bullied at school. I am very very quiet and can sometimes come across as being rude because I don't want to speak incase I either make myself look stupid or no one is interested in what I have to say. Unfortunately my mum died when I was 14 so I never really got a chance to see if our relationship would have improved as I grew up. I have found it quite hard over the last couple of years since I had DS as most people seem to bond over weddings and babies and I always wonder what it would have been like as she loved babies. My step mother and MIL are fab but it isn't the same!
However it has made me realise that sometimes people don't have good relationships with their parents or In laws so I guess I'm lucky really.

Sorry for the me post you all just got me thinking.

LadyBuzz · 23/09/2008 13:11

MM scrable on facebook?

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 13:15

Thanks everyone for your kind and supportive words. I feel really emabaarassed now, it's just every so often I get a bit down with it all.
It's more heightened now my inlaws are soo incapactiated- they are really lovely and it's very sad.

Been very vomity this morning, but I did manage to go spend the morning at a friends house and we had a fabby time.

LOving the big knicker debate, Pinkali. It is a bit disappointing when you realise they actually fit isn't it? Never mind, best to be comfy!!

Purlease That is truly wonderful news- I am soo pleased for you!

Pinkali37 · 23/09/2008 13:22

I think I may start a revolution and burn my thongs! I LOVE BIG KNICKERS.... oh apart from the VPL!

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 13:33

LadyBuzz - yes - can you access the new Scrabble application? I'll start a game with you if you like?

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 14:25

OK - I am officially scared - just been having a nose at the August and September postnatal threads. OMG - we are only weeks away from all that!

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 14:30

choco just be reassured that there are plenty of us on here who have opted to do this again..and again! Ok we prolly don't remember much about it (hormones/lack of sleep) but we have survived! It really is worth it, in ways that truly cannot be described.

sparkletoes · 23/09/2008 14:46

Hello again ladies, haven't been able to post due to extreme lack of sleep, worry, more lack of sleep blah blah!

Oblamov's words of wisdom really hit home with me in fact so I thank her for that! May go on mat leave early after all...

Good news is I had my 'off the record' scan today tho and baby IS DEF NOT BREECH!!!

It is apparently quite big tho but right now I don't care! The sonographer told me what the MW thought was the HEAD is actually a KNEE!! I thought bloody hell knees the size of heads that WILL be a big baby!!!!!

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 14:49

Thanks for the reassurance Pinky - no one has ever said to me "don't do it" so there must be something good about it, but the sore downstairs, sore nipples, lack of sleep, crying etc etc etc don't quite get that across!!

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2008 14:56

Monkey I am very bored at work so I have registered on the scrabulous website (as facebook is ridiculously slow at work) and I wanted to start a game with you via e-mail but I don't have your address! Add me as a facebook friend - you can find me via the MN group and then we can play!

sparkletoes · 23/09/2008 14:58

Don't worry ChocO I was also scared of all that too last time but some of those things didn't even happen, some stopped really quickly and all in all having my DS was still the best thing that ever happened to me so you will be fine .

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 15:04

Choc - cool - will do!!

MerryMarigold · 23/09/2008 15:06

ChocO - don't read postnatal threads! You will probably not have all the issues combined eg. I was sore but had a very good baby who slept and fed well.

Great news sparkle about baby with head sized knees!!! Well, I meant about the head down bit. I have a scan in a week and I don't think they can move after that, very intrigued.

Bigknicks - I am a size 12-14 and my nicks are 18-20! But I like them loose. Also can't stand anything over my bump, it's so tight and sensitive, so they are all under bump ones. If I have c-section I hope they loose enough to be ok otherwise a trip to Tesco it will be.

ruthosaurus · 23/09/2008 15:39

you're having a bumpy day...

Pinky, ta for jumper - woo! Can't wait! Also, re: self esteem thing - I know what you mean. My dad is a bit odd like that - compares siblings, not v affectionate etc. My mum is actually my stepmum, not my bio mum so we have fewer issues in some ways and she is being ace about my pregnancy (she and my dad are separated, sensible woman).

Pinkali - these aren't just enormous pants, these are M&S enormous pants... [cue smutty music and Dervla Wossname voiceover]

MM I just bought normal pants in a size bigger, for the very good reason that my bum is a size bigger. Oh, putting them on was very heaven compared to my normal pants which were cutting off the blood supply in my legs. It was like taking a corset off, or so I imagine.

Nice one purlease - many many congratulations and best of luck!

Congrats also to sparkle on the obedient upsidedown baby with huge knees!

TMI corner - DH left his shaving mirror in the shower this morning and I caught sight of my bum - I have actual stretch marks on my actual bottom. . Boobs - fine. Bump - nuttin'. Hips and bum - Mrs Stripey Tiger, winner of the Stretch Mark Derby. Yeuch. Have decided DH is a colossal freak for still fancying me, the perv, and am glad I am far too fair-skinned to ever be allowed on a beach in swimwear. Where do you get those cossies the Saudi women's olympic swimming team wear?

(Bet someone finds a link before the day is out...)

Anyone else's boobs doublign in size on a daily basis? Hurts, doesn't it? Owie.
