Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

OP posts:

Dozy - it's early days - you may turn it around yet!

misdee · 23/09/2008 19:44

HM2J, hope yu gt a homebirth as well.

mine all hinged on whether or not i developed gestional diabetes again, and i haven't! as soon as i got that result through i was finding out if i could have ahomebirth.

midwife is very for it, which is great and reassuring. she went through all my notes and cantr see any reason why i cant have one. she even joked that she could walk round to mine from the surgery as i live very near.

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 19:44

Lacks - Yes - Facebook Scrabble. Shall I start a game with you?

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 19:49

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 19:54

Changing bag porn

love it, love it, love it

can't afford it

ceebee74 · 23/09/2008 20:01

Well it looks like you are all deserting the thread in favour of Scarbble I may just have to come and join you later!!

Daisy/MM - at your MIL's - there really are some nasty people out there. My MIL is ok - I think we have learnt to tolerate each other over the 14 years but I don't think we will ever be close!

Daisy - so glad you said that about your elective cs last time. I am definitely veering towards an elective cs and one of the main reasons is because it would just be so much easier for childcare for DS as we don't have family close by and all the permutations for me going into labour (i.e., weekday, weekend, night etc) are making my head spin! But I have a nagging feeling that I am opting for a cs for the wrong reasons.

Great news for the Homebirthers - things seem to be falling into place don't they?

Choc - stay away from the PN threads!! It will only end in tears

My GTT was fine in the end - I don't know what I was so concerned about. In fact, dare I say I quite enjoyed it as I got to sit there for 2 hours reading a magazine and newspaper without any interruptions and nothing else to do - and I can't remember the last time I was able to do that!!

misdee · 23/09/2008 20:04

my bag

vbab78 · 23/09/2008 20:08

Currently watching the sex education show on channel 4. this week is childbirth!

Memories ...

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 20:08

ceebee, if the reason is right for your circumstances at the time, then it is for the right reason

And you wouldn't be offered an elective if you hadn't had one previously so you have a valid reason for choosing to go down that route imo.

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 20:10

I am watching as well VBAB - you really do forget fdon't you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am up for as many scrabble games as possible!!!!!!!!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/09/2008 20:14

I've just switched the sex education programme on. It is true, you do forget!

I am up for scrabble now too, now that I have added the application!

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 20:16

Tana Ramsey had a St Tropex before her CS???! WTM?!!

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 20:18

St Tropez obviously

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/09/2008 20:20

I know!! I was LOL! It is the most I can do to shave my legs and trim the ol' lady garden!

Ohhhh, men should do pelvic floor excersises as well. Glad it isn't just us (although I am terrible at them.

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 20:24

your so right!! I remember with my 1st - in labour for 3 days and had to have an emergency C..midwife came in and roughly shaved my "LADY GARDEN" I was mortified!!!! Learnt my lesson with DS2 and had a nice tidy, unhurried wax before having him!!!!

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 20:46

lol at the sex education programme. I really pity DH he has to do so much of this sex education stuff

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 20:51

I defer to DH as well pinky.

Me "well DS, I don't have a winkle (yes, pathetic I know, but my BIL is called Willie ), Daddy does, so you better ask him about it"

ceebee74 · 23/09/2008 20:54

I just typed a long message and just lost it all....grrr!

Dozy I still clearly remember the MW attacking me with a razor (and no shaving foam ) although I was more traumatised by the fact she had to take all my nail varnish off with cheap, crap nail polish remover - I had only painted my nails the morning before to cheer myself up.

Suiledonn I completely sympathise about not wanting to leave your DD - I have never spent a night away from DS so am absolutely dreading it. I know he will be perfectly fine with DS but not so sure about if we have to leave him with grandparents as neither set see him THAT often for him to be totally comfortable with them. Yet another reason for an elective cs I guess!

Sparks great news about the baby and lol at the HUGE knees I bet one of the first things you do after the birth is check the baby's knees

Re Knickers - I also wear the short-type knickers and they are SO comfy. They sit perfectly under my bump and don't dig in anywhere. I haven't tried on my BIG knickers that I plan to take to hospital - guess I should eh?

vbab78 · 23/09/2008 20:56

thanks for all your well wishes after my slip in the shower. Apart from the exception of an achey back, more than normal, i've been ok.

sparkletoes - congrats on your not breech baby.

re tana ramsey - I must get my appointment booked for a few weeks time to pop my "waxing cherry" and also decide when to have a manicure and pedicure. I never did any of this stuff with DS but just feel like I need a treat and something to look forward to except decorating!

Also going to try and make more of an effort for photos "after" to look better as I was a shocking mess in DS early photos.

question - merrymarigold has reminded me about nursing bras. I am going to try to breastfeed this one like with DS but didnt work with DS. So do you think I should buy some nursing bras or wait until after baby born? If I should buy some now when should I get measured?

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 20:57

lol I don't blame you, but I mean DH actually has to teach this stuff, on the street, to teenagers! They have a bag with the pretend penis in it and everything. THey have card games wih relationship dilemmas in etc. And gets asked all manner of stuff.

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 21:01

The only thing I have learnt in the sex education programme is DON'T FORGET A HAT FOR BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are we going to watch now??

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 21:01

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 21:01

vbab if buying before, wait until after 36 weeks, and get something like the bravado bras that can accommodate a few different sizes and growing boobs

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 21:02

vbab I get a cheap one in slightly bigger size then after milk settles down I go out and get fitted for nice ones.

vbab78 · 23/09/2008 21:05

just dont know whether to wait until I can see if this baby takes to breastfeeding so no waste of £ like with DS.

HELP?!
