rrrayray · 22/09/2008 18:35

Oh misshairspray I have been so OFF bedroom antics, with being sick, and then just feeling ten tonne, that OH has just got used to not getting any, and so not making any advances. So....do you know that he is not feeling like it? Or do you think, like my OH, he doesn't want to pester you/thinks your not in the mood?

Think your right- Talk to him. You might be surprised! Anyway.......... a mercy Shag is better than a pregnant woman with unfufilled needs! :D

Periwink · 22/09/2008 19:12

My energy levels are definetely dropped ad am starting to feel so tired by lunch time it is a struggle to keep my eyes open, I am hoping this is just a temporary thing!

Spink · 22/09/2008 20:31

hello everyone!
welcome Jokat
misshairspray, I second rray - would you be up for propositioning dh instead of waiting and hoping? I am still shattered and sex is not on my list of bedroom priorities... so am pleased dh isn't making any advances

I have been in a FOUL mood this evening. Think it may have been precipitated by an all-time low in my nutritional intake. Until dinner (yummy chilli con carne made by dh) I had eaten jam on toast, a pot noodle, a packet of chewits, 1 glass of water and 3 cups of tea. I have made a promise to myself to eat GOOD things from now on. Poor baby, no wonder s/he is thrashing about.
Ooh, just remembered I had a fig this morning. Not so bad after all

Got mw appt tomorrow.
Luck to rray on the scan

OP posts:
MissHairspray · 22/09/2008 20:52

rrayray and spink, you are totally wrong. I mean, even though I spent the first three months growling every time he came near me, and even though I fall asleep every evening at 8.30 on the sofa, and even though when we do go to bed i'm surrounded by so many pillows that it is impossible to get within a foot of me, it is obvious that he has gone off me because I am pregnant and fat. .

Oh dear, poor bloke. I'd better wait until he gets home and try to seduce him with my sexy waddle.

Good luck for the scans and hope all of the horrible skin problems clear up soon.

Jokat · 22/09/2008 21:58

From what I've been reading recently, I get the impression that lots of women get a scan at 20 weeks! In my pregnancy schedule (generated from a Bromley hospital) it says I should have a scan at 22-23 weeks, and indeed I was given my appointment for this Wednesday so I'll be in week 23. Do any of you know of any disadvantages of having this scan so late?

Shanster · 23/09/2008 03:23

Hey constipated ladies, I have to say that Activa yogurt works wonders! I have been having one pot a day and it has really got my back to normal, thank goodness. Now, does anyone have a cure for sheer greed? I am very hungry all the time, and have got into this really bad habit of eating whatever I want. Dread to think what I'll look like by January!

HeathersMummy · 23/09/2008 08:46

Morning ladies
I must be the only person on the planet that loves prunes, I've been eating them every day to keep constipation away and it's working wonders . I had it really bad with DD and was determined I wasn't going to suffer this time - it was the sorest thing ever so you all have my sympathies.
I can't believe how different this second pregnancy is from my first with DD - no constipation, no SPD and my skin is lovely and glowy. Does that mean this baby is a boy - DD certainly thinks so!
Think I'll just enjoy it whilst I can, my consultant certainly thinks I'll suffer later on when probs from my fibroid kick in. Never mind. Have a good day all, enjoy the sunshine

tinkcantwaitfor3dscan · 23/09/2008 09:01

jokat My Scan today is refered to as my 20 wk Anonomoly Scan, but i'm over 22 weeks. i haven't HEARD of any disadvantages of having it a little later personally.

Scan went Well, He was happy with all measurements and everything. But couldn't Find Placenta to see for sure that it isn't low lying, so need to have another scan at 36 weeks to locate it for sure.

Sonographer refered to Bean as the baby, or it....until right near the end, he called her She, and said something about HER foot. Hmmmmmmmmmm.... now i'm TRYING not to read anything too much into it, but it was interesting!! Now just got to sit Tight to the 3rd to know for sure.....but my little untrained eyes didn't see any dangly bits!!!!

Activia and Prune juice seem to be doing the trick, although i still feel a bit bloated/heavy i'm using the toilet a bit more reguarly.

Skin- On my back, slight improvement. New break out on Face. Oh lordy!!

poorbuthappy · 23/09/2008 10:00

Just updated me up there cos date was wrong and if MEL2005 can advertise twins then so can I!!!!!!!

Had another scan yesterday - all fine, the fluid round both girlies is spot on and I am only slightly bigger than I should be for a single so I'm quite happy!
Also had midwife yesterday and had a slight positive result on glucose in sample - apparently its 3 in a row before they test for diabetes so will have to wait and see!

Everyone is so much more organised than me...although I did point out to hubby last night that I think instead of fitting doors for someone else on the weekend he should actually start work on the nursery - and I want to go shopping for it! Payday next week so will be chomping at the bit!!

Loving the thread title by the way - I'm just about to ring the forestry commision to come and tackle it on the weekend...I need industriale equipement to deal with it...

take care all!

rrrayray · 23/09/2008 10:20

........oh & Does anyone else think their Wee smells a bit funny? Mine is REALLY strong smelling.....

I have been drinking ALOT of fluid, especially Water... Constantly thirsty, but Doctor Checked the other day and said no sign of diabetes.

Hmmmmmmm, anyone shed any light on my Smelly Wee? And No i havent had Asprargus

Periwink · 23/09/2008 12:07

Tink - feeling slightly more awake today! No need for the match sticks just yet...

rrayray - my wee is a little on the strong side too, I have put this down to my heightened sense of smell, as had urine checked and all normal.

Ok - off to find some lunch now - hungry!

MsSparkle · 23/09/2008 17:07

rrrayray that happened to me when i had dd's scan. The lady kept saying he so i thought it was a boy. I came out the room a little disappointed because i wanted a girl and then when i had the baby i was thrilled she was girl. I think sometimes they just say he/she but it doesn't mean anything, like in books they refer to the baby as a he or she rather than an it.

I find my urine is strong smelling too. I am so tired today, woke in the night with heartburn

rrrayray · 23/09/2008 17:10

MsSparkle- Ah ha... it was YOU! when it happened i do remmeber someone mentioning it happening to them. Well we are due to have our sexing scan 3rd Oct... but i've actually just emailed the clinic, as turns out OH doesnt have to work Saturday and i think they have some free slots then- so Fingers crossed we might find out Saturday- How Exciting!!!!!!!!

Strong smelling is how i would desrcribe mine too... its not nasty smelling, just smelly!

i keep waking in the night with all sorts of different things. i havent slept through the night in a LONG time- Preperation for bubba me thinks!!!

Very hungry and eating LOTS today!!

MsSparkle · 23/09/2008 17:15

I keep forgetting i am 25 weeks pregnant and need to slow down! I get a stitch when i walk, even on short journeys and find myself breathless going up the stairs. Carrying dd is tough now, hurts my hips alot and some evenings i just crawl into bed with aching hips

So i need to slow down but it's hard when you have a toddler and a house to keep together. I don't remember being this unfit with dd and i was working full time then too!

moosemama · 23/09/2008 17:34

Hi all,

Not been about much due to the dreaded back to school lurgies. They've only been back a couple of weeks and so far DS1 has had a vomiting virus and then DS2 gave the entire family 'Killer Coldey/Fluey Virus Thing from Hell!'. Its a humdinger - even his teachers were sent home sick with it!

All the boys (DH included) are coping admirably with their concoctions of drugs whereas I seem to have been hit the hardest and can't take anything to help with the symptoms. DS1 is back at school and there's noone around in the afternoons to pick him up except me so am having to crawl there and back every day.

On top of all that I've had thrush twice in 6 weeks! Aaaagh! Pregnancy this time round has been no fun at all!

Still, I now have a bedside crib and have ordered a M&P 03 Sport buggy as well as having bought just about all the clothes she will need barring a few extra sleepsuits and vests. So am feeling less panicky about not having what we need.

The house on the other hand is a disaster area. We are the same as NJ with piles of stuff everywhere while we try and do away with the need for a study. I currently have nowhere for the baby stuff I've bought so it is all in boxes and bags in the living room!

Anyhoo, moan over!

Welcome to the list Jokat.

Ray, the wee smell thing is how I know I'm pregnant and its time to take a test - been right every time! Apparently its a combination of the super sensitive sense of smell and the excretion of hormones.

buckles · 23/09/2008 17:49

Yes ray, mine blinking stinks! Can you DP smell it? Mine has been away for the last 12 weeks and is coming home soon- very nervous he is going to think that I smell like an incontinent old woman!

looweeza · 23/09/2008 18:18

ooh yes - the wee thing is not nice for me either. i thought it was just me though, so thank you!

about to move into first proper house next week (so relieved the sale went through in plenty of time for Jan) and i'm therefore about to finally launch myself upon the shops for baby stuff. But I need help.

I'm getting a bugaboo chameleon, a car seat, a crib to go at the side of our bed, and a cot for sleeping in later on (plus of course other things, like clothes etc, but just this big stuff for now)

Here's my question (i'm an ignorant 1st timer):

Do I also need a moses basket? or can the baby sleep in the chameleon's pram bit when we stay overnight elsewhere. would this be cruel? OR! should i get a moses basket that fits on a base thing, instead of a crib - which will then be another thing to carry, on top of the buggy, when we go visiting..

i do not want to buy more than is necessary, and i already feel like a gullible first timer for spending a small fortune on the travel system (although my friends do genuinely love the model, so we'll see..)

thank you. i'm so confused.
