Thabks for all the tips on what to buy - think I will also go for the hug a bub slig - thanks!

Report
fourlittlefeet · 25/09/2008 10:41

by the way the kari me looks very like the hug a bub but is much more stretchy so you have to tie it tighter initially. Stretchy is good when they are small as its easier to get them in, but bad when they are big and after 10 mins walking are hanging round your knees cos its not tight enough, so I'd still go for the hugabub if you have a choice. .

fourlittlefeet Well... We were 110% sure it was a BOY.... but at my 20 week Scan the Sonographer suddenly right at the end referred to Bean's foot as HER foot.... Now we can't read TOO much into that (NHS essex trust don't sex bubbas) but i think its put a LITTLE doubt in our minds!!!

We don't really have a preference.....just the ususal "healthy baby" request.... But.... We cannot agree on ANY boys names... So for sake of the poor child being nameless i guess a girl would Solve that one! :-) Looking forwards to updating the list!!!

Havent really looked at slings, but will DEF be getting one. OH plays football, and when watching would solve all sorts of problems to have Bean in a sling INSIDE a HUGE Camel Hair Coat that my mother wore when i was in a sling too. Then we'll all be snuggly and warm!!!

Anyone else really excited for it to get cold and christmassy now that "summer" is over? I'm a LOVER of Christmas.... especially now this time once its here we're almost THERE!!!!!!

Doesnt seem to be that many sexes on the due date list. i guess alot of you are much more restrained than me & aren't finding out

Hi everyone, haven't been on here to post for ages and ages but have been reading what you're all up to..

Had the 20 week scan and everything OK, and we're expecting another girl!! strange as I was convinced it was a boy...

just a quick (ish) question: a friend of mine is attending NCT classes (due Nov)and she was saying they were lecturing (as they do) about massaging olive oil where the sun don't shine to help the baby come out quicker and this reminded me of several articles in magazines when I was having DD1 back in 2006, do people actually do this??? does the baby shoot across the room due to 'lubrication', I think my olive oil will remain for cooking purposes only!!

i cant wait to find out either
lizz ye for scan and having a girl

Report
rrrayray · 25/09/2008 15:52

lizz- i have never heard of that... but then as a first timer, maybe i wouldnt have!! jeez i await my NCT classes with baited breath if that is the sort of contents!

I have been oiling my tummy and half my body with burts bee mama bee oil for forever..... so i guess putting a little oil "down there" wouldn't make much difference to the grease ball i am at night these days!

My friend from home (we moved to Nr Ipswich from brighton in jan) is en route to come and stay the night with her darling 6 week old little girl. OH is away for the night- Perfect girlie night.

Hope everyone is well.....

I suggested to dp that he looked at Tesco clothes for existing ds while he was in there, he's sent me pics of lovely small baby clothes with the suggestion that I get them for ds2. Can't really justify it, we had more for ds1 than he had the chance to wear up until 6 months. And plenty more as well - dc2 (boy) is unlikely to need new clothes for some time. I thought ds1's clothes might be a bit too worn but generally almost everything he's outgrown has been in good nick - one broken zip that I can recall.

lizz - i think that must be perineal massage, which is supposed to help prevent tearing (i have just crossed my legs nervously...) but i can't tell you anything about it as am first-timer and also slightly squeamish. except that you are supposed to do it for the last five or six weeks.

know what you mean about baby kicking bladder mine also kicks fanjo

Report
MsSparkle · 26/09/2008 15:34

My baby seems to either squash my bladder or poke me in the ribs with it's foot or hand. I was so uncomfortable last night, i just couldn't find a spot that wasn't going to make the baby dig into me

I am 26 weeks today I can leave work in three weeks if i want to. I think i will just carry on though until i feel i can't do it anymore. I work for my dp so giving notice isn't an issue.

Does anyone else know when they will give up work?

rrrayray · 26/09/2008 16:00

tink i'm sure a week will fly by! Are you hoping for a boy or a girl??

I think it would be rude not to buy a girl or boys outfit tomorrow after we find out the sex! Very exciting!!!

hey all.
love having a good catch up. my response to thread:
very horny both this pregnancy and last after 20 weeks. keep jumping on dh at 6am but he doesn't seem to mind. think its to do with increased blood flow down below but not complaining as lots of fun!
even though i hated the feel of it i massaged with oil down below at the advice of friends. however cut front to back (sorry 1st timers!) so no good for me.
agree wee smells funny when preggers. no idea why. however for first 3 months i hated the smell of my kitchen, the water from the tap, the fridge infact everything.
god ds having breakdown with dh. better investigate. oh calmed as writing as dh started singing. not sure which is worse!
rayray very excited for you too. hope baby plays the game.
can someone tell me more about bfsomething free bottles? still using avent with ds. are they ok?

a perineal massage! i'm so horny all the time i'm liable to give myself an orgasm.

i'm an artist so won't be giving up work at all. right now i am busy getting one last sculpture done and then off to London in a week for my show. can't wait. will be doing some baby shopping there. when i get back, there is some commissions i need to start on.

there is a huge baby show this weekend here that some friends are taking me to and they are forcing me to make a wish list.

the blurb below is from my cousin, who is a general physician and dr. of naturalpath.

  1. Bisphenol A (BPA) ? Health Canada has today banned the importation, sale and advertising of polycarbonate baby bottles manufactured with BPA.

BPA is a chemical molecule that mimics estrogen in the body. This xenoestrogen is an endocrine disruptor that may potentiate the risk for developing hormonally based cancers, including breast, prostate and endometrial and may even lead to infertility or effect the onset of puberty. It is primarily used in the manufacture of rigid plastic products but is also found in canned foods and beverages especially acidic fruits and vegetables where it stops the contents from eroding the metal container.
