Think going to go for a swim tomo too, as they say exercise can help.

Also going to pick up some prune juice. GROSS stuff- but give anything a whirl.

Will update list with Colour once find out- we have booked a private gender scan for 3rd October.

Exciting those of you buying baby goodies. We have too ordered our nursery furniture. Think going to wait till next month & buy travel system, car seat etc. So many things to buy- Ever expanding list!

Very sunny here too. off for a Walk on the Beach while OH Runs ahead. Although despite having a Tiny bump- Am sure have been Waddling slightly for months!!!

Then off to stock up on Fruit, and fibre containing food!!!!

missjackson · 21/09/2008 12:22

rrrayray you could try Psyllium husks it's non-digestible fibre so literally just passes thru you, so it's perfectly safe in pregnancy (my doc & midwife agreed too) it's helped me out often in the past! But if you try it, make sure you buy the capsules rather than the powdered form as it's GROSS and is like drinking frogspawn!

So, one week on, and my PUPPPs rash is worse than ever -- has spread even to the end of my fingertips. I'm on a regime of dandelion root, salt scrub and warm bath, followed by pine tar soap and cold shower, approx every 2 hours during the night (good practice for breast-feeding?!) and about every 4 hours during the day. In total misery. Am going to demand an emergency dermatologist first thing tomorrow morning. Have angry thoughts while sitting in the bath at 4am, eg - if men suffered from this, there would be a cure already.... grrrrrr.... Meanwhile OH is enjoying lovely riding holiday in the sunny Loire and not sending enough supportive texts! Double Grrrr....

I woke up this morning with Ezcema on my wrists and Thighs.... had a little itch and a grumble to OH- Then thought of you Miss J and realised it was nothing!

hey all.
sorrry for long time no post. been manically busy with big event at work for paralympics and then dh has had a nice bit of time at home so making the most.
the rash sounds horrific lennied, don't know how you are coping. guess the only good thing is it does't sound harmful for baby. bump touching is annoying but wait until you get baby touching! i have nealry lost it with old grannies before!
back still sore but seems on the bend. ds teething so very mummy and wants to be carried which is not great timing. still he is so cute at the moment i can forgive him.
went to an nct sale for the first time today. absolutely mental. queue round the block and people fighting (though nicely) for things. bought a travel stairgate for my mum and dads and some boks for ds and myself. off shopping tomorrow to abuse gap voucher which is doing the rounds, service buggy and but doubles kit for phil & teds. not taken ds shopping for a while so should be interesting.
have a friend who is 37 weeks and saw her today with her hospital bag packed. completely freaked me out as think in denial that i will have 2 children after christmas. i am only just wokring out the first one!!!
is 1946 too early to go to bed?

morning!

Definitely do the prune juice, don't know anyone it hasn't worked for, but don't overdo it... you don't want to be stuck on the loo! Although I really hate tesco, it has an own brand one that is much cheaper than the californian stuff. Its more palatable mixed with apple juice or used instead of milk on cereals like branflakes or muesli.

I am putting on so much weight, even though I don't think I'm eating a lot. Its really upsetting me now as I hoped to be a bump on legs this time, not a freight carrier! Need more maternity trousers already.

Good morning everyone

Sorry haven't been on for a while, we have been (and are still in the middle of) decorating and sorting the boys room out. We are waiting for the carpet fitters to come this afternoon and then can get the furniture in, which at the moment is spread throughout the whole house. Everywhere is piled high with stuff. Am also sorting out DS2's old room, sorting through all of his baby things, cooing over memories...

MissJackson, I hope you have found a way to ease it a bit, it must be terrible for you

Can't remember who mentioned the bump touching, but, I can't say it really bothers me, although there are times when I am a bit Like when one of DS1's schools friend's dad, who I only really know to say hello to, butted in a conversation and full on rubbed my bump saying "Another boy then?" My biggest problem with people touching it is that your first reaction to anything coming towards your belly uninvited is to fight it off, so I have to physically stop myself from karate chopping their arm off

Is anyone else suffering with SPD? I am finding one day it is absolute agony, the next just a bit tender, is it something to do with where the baby is lying? Sometimes it can take me literally five minutes to be able to get out of bed, other times as long as I keep my legs together it isn't too bad.

rrrayray · 22/09/2008 10:54

Had a glass of prune juice last night, combined with LOADS of Fruit, Bran Flakes, Activia Youghurts, etc yesterday- And bingo... Problem seems fixed this morning! Thank goodness! Although i nearly GAGGED drinking the prune juice, its God awful, like Motor oil!!!!!!!!!

Four little Feet- My Bump has Suddenly Appeared in the last few weeks.... i've been Soooooooooooooooooo hungry- waking up starving. I think we're in the growth spurt stage.

I'm going for a facial later- What a Treat. A desperate attempt to make myself feel better despite the bloody raging spots!

NJ you are always sorting and tidying! Your house must look fabulous. Hope you are not doing too much lifting >

What are you doing this time to prevent a repeat of the last pregnancy? I have been told by the consultant no sex between 26 and 34 weeks, no unnecessary walking, no stress and rest with feet up as much as possible.

This all seems laughable but i am going to really try as i cant face a week in hospital and all the nasty drugs to keep her in. The house is going suffer and gawd knows what they will eat but tis only for a short while and i figure it wont do them any real harm.

The rash sounds unbearable and you are right if men suffered with it a cure would have been found long ago. I have no idea how you are standing it, particularly with dh away on HOLIDAY!

at all the organised buying. I have been looking for an ACB ZOOM tandem on ebay but with no luck. I dont want to fork out £500 for a new one!

Will update baby list with girl news.

poor ray, you're going through the wars! I had to change all my skin products to cope with pregnancy as last time I virtually got full on acne (esp under my chin and below ears yuck, yuck, yuck). this time as soon as I got a couple I tried heading htem off and now have two face washes, one greasy and one drying and combine them depending on my skin on the day! Also started using a new moisturiser - the hydra calm global protection from REN - which I absolutely love, though again, only on 'dry face' days. how weird. think the weather doesn't help either.

I was also going to mention re itchy head, as I have it too - I think pregnancy is drying out our skin, that the t-gel clear stuff is working well for me. don't like the stinky brown one, but the new clear one smells ok and does the job . oh the glamour of our lives these days.

LG&T house looks like a dump at the moment, can't tell you how big the piles are, but then we do have two empty rooms upstairs, and everything that was in them, is now in piles somewhere else... and no, no lifting for me, have been left with all the crap jobs!

I managed to get out of having to go to the consultants so far, I think when I next see the MW though she won't let me get away with it anymore. Contractions are getting scarily close together some nights, close enough for me to think about going to hospital - which says a lot! I think I am really going to try and push for them to agree to book me in for induction either at term or at 38 weeks, MIL has already said she won't have the boys if it starts in the middle of the night, there is absolutely no one else that could have them (my family is all down south) and besides that, I really don't think there will be any time for anyone to get here anyway.

If I go into spontanious labour, I honestly don't think I'll even make it to the hospital, which potentially leaves me labouring alone with DS2 and possibly DS1 for company. MW warned me last time that it can take the best part of an hour for anyone to get to me for the HB, so even they wouldn't get here in time.

And if I went into prem labour, well, I don't even want to think of what could happen.

Report
largeginandtonic · 22/09/2008 11:35

I panicked about a rapid delivery with the last one NJ and look what happened. He was induced at 10 days late and took hours to come out!

I really had not planned on any of that, it took me totally by surprise and made the labour go very badly. I just couldnt get my head around the fact he was not here within half an hour of labour starting. It was ventouse and 6 hours later...

This time i am not even thinking about the labour being quick. I am more concerned about the pre term bit. I have an irritable uterus and am already getting back ache and braxton hicks, am convinced nothing is happening down below though and this is just how my body behaves.

It is uncomfortable and at times a bit unnerving but i am sure all is well. I will still be here at 42 weeks!

I will just be here knowing i have done all the right things instead of burying my head in the sand and getting on with everything.

MissJackson i'm sorry to hear your having such a bad time with your skin

rrrayray i feel for you as i know what it's like to suffer constipation, pregnant or not. Although i seem to be the opposite at the moment, i am going regularly which is unlike me

I have ordered a tens machine which will be sent to me 3 weeks before my due date. I am getting really nervous about labour. I keep wondering will it be early meaning it will be a Christmas baby or will it hang on for dear life like dd did and come 2 weeks late? I keep wondering where i will be when/if i go into labour? I am dreading the pain as well so over all i'm quite worried about the whole thing.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this and also due in January. I'm 22 weeks along and find it very comforting to hear that many of you are experiencing the same things, from constipation over hunger spurts to an aching pubic bone. But at the same time I'm also sharing the greatness of feeling the baby's kicks and the excitement of it all

Morning ladies, I bought a M&P pramette and car seat yesterday so hope none of you have any horror stories!

Do anyone elses partners seem less keen on..erm...them? My DH has always had a much higher libido than me and up until about four weeks ago was still keen on doing it as much as possible, but now - nothing! On the other hand he is the most kind, caring and loving he has ever been. I think he must be worried about hurting me or the baby but it doesn't do much for your ego when you grow a bump and your husband goes off you. I suppose i'd better talk to him but I don't want to push him in to a mercy shag!
