Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
stripeywoollenhat · 18/09/2008 12:10

thanks tink - it is pretty vile, not being able to sleep - and i normally fall asleep as soon as i lie down and then am very difficult to wake up... hopefully it'll pass soon, but since i think it might have something to do with having to get up to pee, maybe not...

flf - seriously, with all that exercise, you have time to eat?

Well, just back from the midwife and despite the fact that I'm 25 weeks gone, bump is measuring at least 28 weeks She said it's because of my large fibroid, but oh my god - what's growing in there and what size is it going to be!!!!!
Got scan at 30 weeks - this could be interesting
Hubby has suggested going swimming tomorrow evening - some serious ladygarden pruning tonight then

MissHairspray · 18/09/2008 17:10

Hello ladies, been away at a conference for three days and had to put up with lots of drunk people telling me how big my bump is for five and a half months. The rational part of me knows not to worry, but the irrational part thinks they must think I sit on my bum all day eating chocolate cake.

Got a bit upset today because i'm relocating to a different area in 10 days and thought I should probably try and see the midwife before I go as I haven't see one since 10 weeks and it will be a few weeks before I can get set up in a new medical system. The earliest appointment they had was the 10th October - even if I wasn't moving house that would have meant I would be 28 weeks and not have had any kind of check apart from scans for 18 weeks. No one bothered to tell me that you have to make these appointments weeks in advance, and although I feel fine this is my first and it would be good to have some reassurance that everything is normal. Anyway, I was told to call midwife tomorrow and see if she thinks I should just go to doctors so it may all be OK, but I always feel with my hospital that you have to be totally on the ball and chase them up otherwise nothing would happen.

Anyway, other than that everything OK so i shouldn't complain, compared to some of you I have got off really lightly. Babs kicks away like mad whenever I lie down which is good except I think all my slouching is making him back to back so will need to try and sit up straighter. Have a good evening

Hello all, love the thread tital

I am excited because my dd's mini table and chairs set has finally arrived!

Am though because i joined the ELC birthday club, they sent me a 20% off voucher and it turns out i can't use it for dd's birthday present because it's a 'Star buy' kitchen and the voucher isn't valid for star buys

Well Tink, you should change your name to MrsOrganised because you seem to be very!

missjackson · 18/09/2008 19:46

Hi all,

LOL at new thread title!

Not much new to report here from Itch Central - the rash has spread all over now and got much worse, and it seems that I do have PUPPPs after I revisited the doctor and he got the Ob-Gyn consultant on the phone - it's not unheard of this early on in pregnancy. I've done tons of research on the net (mostly in the middle of the night between cold baths) and am throwing the book at this thing, but there's basically not a cure - you just have to hope it will go away in a couple of weeks rather than having to wait 18 weeks till D Day!

Feeling really miserable and sorry for myself now after four nights of little sleep, still dragging myself into work for half days (I'm a freelancer so if I miss a whole day I don't get paid at all, but as long as I show my face for a few hours I get the whole day) and really feel like my colleagues think I am taking the piss, but I can't care. Driving to work rather than sitting on the tube, which costs me £16 a day in parking, but at least in the car I can keep the air-con on and keep my rash cool which helps slightly...

Sorry to moan.... just needed to vent. Only approx 1 in 200 women get it -- WHY ME?!!!!!

LenniEd · 18/09/2008 21:36

MissJackson - hope you manage a good nights rest tonight. Ignore your colleagues and do whatever it takes to get some relief.

Night all, sorry to keep nipping in and straight back out, we are a little bit run off our feet here with DHs business and no time to catch up. Only another couple of weeks like this and then there are no more events until Feb so should only have the Xmas rush to deal with . Why do I always get pregnant at this time of year??

tinkcantwaitfor3dscan · 19/09/2008 08:32

morning

pop on before dropping dd @ nursery

miss h - sorry that you havent been able to c midwife for a while

heathersmummy - glad midwife went well good luck with your 30 week scan
with dd i had a growth scan @ 33 wks as measurments were smaller all fine

miss j - so sorry for your rash sending over ointment to make it better

rrrayray · 19/09/2008 18:22

miss J sorry to hear your in such discomfort still. Our thoughts are with you!!!

Went to Doctor yesterday - am on Antibotics for spots on back. Was more expecting some kind of Cream, but who knows? 10 day burst to try and flush them out. Advised just savlon or some antiseptic cream for spots themselves. Although needless to say i can't reach them, so OH will be plying my Raging spots with cream!

While was there mentioned Excessive Thirst and drinking. He asked if could provide urine sample (what pregnant woman Can't pee ALL the time- it was NOT a problem) Anyway, he checked it and all seemed fine. So thats a relief!

Has anyone else got a really Sore nose? mine is a bit Stuffy, but the problem is when i go to Blow it/wipe it, its painfull sore to touch & upon inspecting in mirror can see it looks pretty red raw in there

hope you all have a lovely evening!

tinkcantwaitfor3dscan · 19/09/2008 19:28

have just ordered cot, mattress and pink car seat for dd is exciting

ordering quinny buzz tom

fymandbean · 19/09/2008 19:43

Hi everyone - great thread title!!

I'm desperate to find out if it's boy or girl - just one week to go! we don't have many people on the list with the boy/girl - I can only see 2 boys and 1 girl?? Lets get those colours on there!

MissHairspray · 19/09/2008 20:35

Really sorry to hear about the horrible rashes and spots rrayra and miss J I hope they clear up soon.

I got some good news today, it finally looks like everything is agreed with the house we are buying so all being well we should have our first proper home a week on Monday. I'm not looking forward to some of the work we need to do but it will be great to start having somewhere to vent my nesting urges, and be near to most of our family and friends. I called the gp to see about getting registered in another area and they sounded lovely, and the hospital I want to go to is in the 5th best PCT In the country rather than 3rd worst so it is all good.

Someone mentioned random bump touching a while back - I think I really offended my MIL when I freaked out the other day cos she not only wanted to touch it but tried to pull up my jumper the moment I got in her house to see it! I wouldn't have minded if she had asked first but I think I just got a shock and some sort of protective instinct took over, like 'gerroff he's mine!'.

LooseyC · 19/09/2008 21:02

Hello all and to the new thread!

Just back from another wine and cheese-free holiday in the south of France... can't complain though as was lovely and hot and we were staying with the in-laws so had quite a bit of free babysitting and relaxation time. DS was spoilt rotten and is grumpy now home!

I haven't read all the messages on the last thread I'm afraid but hope things are going well for people - I'm good, although am developing varicose veins!! Can't believe it, especially as I think of them as something only old people have. Oh well, another lovely aspect of pregnancy for us!

One of my colleagues forwarded this at work this week, it's 30% off GAP and apparently there is no catch! You just print the voucher off and they accept it. I might give it a try today as they have some lovely maternity stuff.

www.gapcorporateinvite.com/fall08/en/voucher.asp

Let me know if it doesn't work, and I can try copying the original email.

Rash getting worse. Had to bathe every 2 hours last night. Am actually losing my mind! But not so bad that I can't get excited about 30% off....

Hope it's a lovely sunny day for everyone - it is glorious here in London.

Afternoon all,

Feeling very tired today. Just wanna go to bed and sleep. I find i get so tired out quickly now it's insane

I am 25 weeks and time is seriously flying by! When i think it's only just over 3 months for me now, i feel quite freaked out! In a way i just wanna get the newborn stage done with but then on the other hand i know i should cherish it because i won't ever have a newborn again. I am definatly not having 3 kids.

stripeywoollenhat · 20/09/2008 17:37

evening! it has been a gorgeous day in dublin and now it's a perfect evening to sit outside with a beer. sigh... more mint tea, maybe. hope it has been lovely where you all are.

so we went to a pram shop today and bought the icandy cherry - not too expensive, relatively light. and now i really feel like i must be having a baby (the big belly and kicking sensations not enough of a clue) because there is now stuff in the spare - soon to be baby - room for her.

just as a matter of curiosity, has anyone else developed car sickness since they've been pregnant? never had it before and now car trips of longer than about two minutes make me really queasy. really hoping it's one of those things that will go away as soon as titch is out...

ScaredOfEverything · 20/09/2008 21:03

HI everyone, just updating myself to say it's a girl! 24 weeks today, seems like a milestone. ALthough I have started to feel VERY tired again.
Enjoy your evenings everyone

Gillian Mckeith on this - basically she says you need to eat fruit first then veg then other things (I'm being wildly generalistic here) I find in normal circumstances it doesn't matter but when PG - oh boy!!! anyway her theory is that fruit digests faster than say meat so if your fruit intake is trapped behind say the burger you've just eaten hey presto bloating and wind. So eat fruit first!

ps - have a read of her book - it is quite good with tips like that- but obviously don't follow the 'diet' as deffo not suitable for pregnancy!
