Congratulations notsoslim sounds like the home part kept you relxed enough to cope with the rest at least!

When was Oscar born? I'll update the list.

sagecat · 21/09/2008 22:21

Congratulations on baby Oscar notsoslim, epidurals are bliss

SlinkieM · 21/09/2008 22:34

Hi all
Just graduating myself a little late... it was dramatic to say the least - I'd had a few stinging pains all morning but just put it down to Braxton Hicks - my husband was on his was home as a precautionary measure when my waters went and I had a show. Thankfully (and luckily for a Friday afternoon) the traffic was light and we made it across London quickly as I had our baby boy 45 minutes later, ten minutes after arriving at Chelsea & Westminster screaming down the corridors that I needed to push!
Congrats to all other mums of new arrivals, will post properly soon. We are delighted with him. Good luck to those still waiting!

i can see i have loads of catching up to do from todays posts, so i better get busy!
((i'm doing the usual, opened Notepad so i can take notes along the way of catching up.))

righty, first off, i have a question that requires a "tmi" description...
so you've been warned! as i'm sitting here typing all this, i'm getting a very new feeling
within my vajayjay...almost on the outter area. it starts with a bit of a "throb", and
then moves very quickly to feeling like...err...((and im sorry for this))
like i'm opening and closing? and then goes away just as fast. its not painful,
but definitely notceable.

could i be dilating a little? oh its happening again, and i notice the boy inside moves around when its going on. ((please forgive me if this is something so silly and minor,
cos even though its my 2nd child, ANY and ALL signs of labour and ctx are very new to me...never even had so much as a niggle prior to the planned c/s.

MunkiMom · 21/09/2008 23:36

IL2MIMI banana split cake (again, i would say its a pie) is something my moms been
making for ages. ((but i think its a known, southern states recipe). and its not far off from a trifle...
its all chilled and one of these that needs to hang in the fridge overnight for the best mixing of
flavours. its very basic, involving digestive crust base,
a butter/icing sugar/egg creamed layer, banana slices on that, crushed pineapple on that with
a bit of the juice to soak, and a whipped cream top layer, topped with marischino cherries and
walnuts or pecans. sound like something you would like to try? i'm happy to pass on the measurements
hun.

starlight just wanna say thanks for the advice and suggestions on the breathing with the contractions.
as my hospital has put a stop on the ante-natal classes...and ihavent a clue on the best ways of breathing, and
the added tips, so thanks. just hoping i can remember them at my time of need!

mella!! huge congrats!!! i was so excited to see all the well wishers posting notes on your FB page!
thanks for posting the positive story, as i'm really starting to get scared here....

Mamamuffin huge congrats to you as well! really looking forward to hearing your birth story as well!!

oh my goodness, NotSoSlim, as well!! i luv that you are able to describe the epidural as "sheer
heaven"! welcome baby oscar! and it sounds like you did very well managing partial homebirth AND the labour suite!

((ok, what have you all been eating!?!?))
while catching up, im reading YET ANOTHER announcement?!?!
i see roll call has worked and everyone missing are popping up with all the wonderful news!
Slinkie! sounds like you were very close to having your boy in a car!!
well done holding out! ((although, we're bound to have at least 1 vehicle delivery, right? hehehe))

ok, thats me done with the reading of the posts. i'm shattered after the busy day of all family being here...
also the post i did just a bit ago, with the "throbs" and niggles...
have stopped. ahh, well. was kinda hoping it was my turn!

anyways, goodnight gals! i hope you can sleep soundly tonight!

I think it might be my turn today - after my show yesterday morning I've been having pains 20 mins apart since 10ish last night - managed to get some sleep though.

I thought I'd try being up for a while to see what happened (plus you have to be up early these days to get to do the update

mum2bagain · 22/09/2008 07:04

Good lick Ninja I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I went to bed last night having painful b/h and obviously thats all it was as I'm still here this morning feeling fine. I think I was just kidding myself that anything was happening because I wanted it so much. Ah well, lets see what today brings, but I am very doubtful of anything happening for me today, I mean, who actually does go on their due date??? Not many of us. I do feel ready though. I'll be waiting for the phone to ring a dozen times too with the obvious question, I might be cruel and not answer, ha. x

ninja · 22/09/2008 07:40

None for a bit - wondering if they've slowed down or stopped. I don't know whether to try and rest today or be very active.

plusonemore · 22/09/2008 08:07

hmm...rest i think ninja. Or how bout combination- walk up and down stairs to bed a few times and if that does nothing actually go to bed??!! It keeps occuring to me how crazy it is that we are all wishing ourselves to be in pain!!! But I guess as its inevitable and theres such a big prize at the end then its only normal to think sooner rather than later.

ninja · 22/09/2008 08:39

tbh I was quite happy to have a few more days of Mat leave, but now it's kind of started I just want to know where I am.

Might do the walking up and down a few times. Then see.

I've still got no idea what flavour I have in there!

Not sure what going on here...been having pains since Thursday afternoon but don't seem to be doing much. Went out for lunch yesterday and spent a couple of hours walking round the garden center and shops. Now every time I get up it HURTS!! Am hoping to have shaken him down a little

MunkiMom · 22/09/2008 09:20

Happy due date, gals!

ninja, sounds promising for you to be next!!

ok, so i know most of you have had the irritation of being asked over and over again about "baby here yet" blah blah blah.
and i never really thought it bothered me...
but Bloomin Eck!!! its bothering me now!!!

at 845 this morning, i received FOUR texts, almost simultaneously! good gaw, people!!!! get a grip!! i'll tell you when it happens, ffs! ((but im beginning to NOT want to tell people)) needless to say, i'm feeling all of y'alls pain now.

oh, and another thing, how many people have said: "send me a text or let me know as soon as anything happens!!"? don't they know i might just be a little bit busy sith other things, oh i dont know, like having a baby?

ahhh. i'm ok. i'm secretly reeling inside about NOT replying to texts at the moment.

MelT76 · 22/09/2008 09:26

Munki I had a phone call off MIL at *AM to say 'oh are you still there? You will let me know when it happens won't you? Call if you need me' (in fairness she is closest to home as DP is about an hour away with work today) But really....how would I get away with NOT telling MIL????

MelT76 · 22/09/2008 09:27

that should be 8am

mum2bagain · 22/09/2008 09:52

Well I've dropped the boys off at school and now I'm sat eating a huge bag of salt and vinegar crunchy sticks watching jeremy kyle trash t.v. I had it all this morning from other mums - "you still with us" or "bet you go a week over", I thought I could handle it, but it's stressed me out so much.

No Texts yet tho

becaroo · 22/09/2008 10:29

Congratulations slinkie notsoslim and mama - very pleased for all of you x

Off to hospital this afternoon - will let you know what they say....not looking forward to it.

And to cap it all ds has woken up with an awful cold. Sigh....

missusH - perhaps they had a concellation?

Have a good day all x
