I think notcitrus was getting period type pains regularly last time we heard from her, so I'm sure there must be an announcement soon.

What about gothic?

Congratulations Mumiyumi!!!!

Fingers crossed you hold out til you're ready feelingpositive. I'm the same, I need another 24/48 hours, I told my bump to be generous and hang on in there a little longer...

Don't want to be induced this time so I've got an aptment with my reflexologist/masseur to start trying to prompt the process this week unless it happens before!

Can't believe we'll have another baby, it still seems so totally unreal! Yesterday I felt really tearful and didn't want to drive anywhere and felt really nervous it might be starting. Have to get my head a little more ready somehow!

Good luck all!

mum2bagain · 13/09/2008 15:33

My pubic bone is absolutely killing me. I think it could be SPD, not severe, but takes my breath at times. Does anyone know if this will affect the birth? I've read lots on the internet about it and sounds like its that, but nothing says how it will affect labour - what are the affects of the baby coming out etc. I know its something I should discuss with GP but have to wait till mon.

Apart from that, what a lovely day!!!!

SlinkieM · 13/09/2008 15:42

Good luck mum2be - just wanted to commiserate with you as I have been suffering with what I have self-diagnosed as pelvic girdle pain - I am fine 95% of the time but then I will get sciatia-like shooting pains in my bum and down my leg occasionally which are agonising.
Mine's not a constant pain so I am hoping it will just be drowned out by the pain of labour! It's only been a problem since baby's head engaged.
Congratulations mumiyumi! Glad it went well.
LeonieD I wouldn't worry - my baby (also 2nd) has been engaged for ages (also nearly 39w) and doctor said on Tuesday he expected to see me later this week... and nowt. I thought I was unusual having a second engaged so early, but my mum was the same. Most friends I know the baby didn't engage until very close to labour. I don't think it means a lot second time round! Good luck though.

jenwa · 13/09/2008 15:47

Hi all, sorry gatecrashing from the Oct thread to see how you all doing???

Just seen that one of your lady's had a baby back in may! Thats very early!! How early? Is all ok?

Hope those of you who have had your babies are all well and babies are all doing well too and to those of you still waiting I hope its not too long and uncomfortable for you now.

Good luck and best wishes to all

ninja · 13/09/2008 16:21

Hi jenwa I think Johnworf's baby was born at about the 25 week mark. She has her own thread and I think she should be out of hospital this week. You should check out the profile photos they're amazing!

Good luck to you all as well!

lollipopmother · 13/09/2008 16:58

Starlight - Thanks for reserving the chair, you can keep it warm for me until Friday!!

I still didn't get a sweep, this time the baby is not in the least bit engaged and so there's no point at all in doing the sweep, and also dangerous apparently as the placenta/cord can drop down before the head. AND the stupid bint woman that told me my induction was on Wed is wrong and it's actually Thurs that I go in for the gel, so really I could still not have this baby until Friday!

I said I was a bit concerned that they weren't interested in monitoring me seeing as I'm now 40+9 and she said they wouldn't until 40+14, by which point I will be coming in for the induction. Pah, I still want monitoring God damn it!

lollipopmother · 13/09/2008 16:58

Biglips - You are sooooo in labour, I'd put money on it!

biglips · 13/09/2008 17:34

ive had a hot bath and had a 3 hour nap!..... gosh i felt so shattered before doing nothing!! also for the past 2 weeks if i sits on a hard chair, it kills my tummy.

ive got a feeling ill be like this till im 42 weeks!

hopefully · 13/09/2008 17:42

Sorry you didn't get your sweep Lollipop, but it sounds like it was for the best. If you're worried and want monitoring, I would phone and say you're really concerned, as your cycle days make you 40+14 a couple of days earlier than theirs, and see if they take pity on you - seems to depend on who you get on the end of the phone really!

Biglips thanks for the reassurance, I know 3 stretchmarks is really not the end of the world. I may be being a teensy bit hormonal and irrational in the face of being 5 days overdue.

Spent all day on my feet today, went into town and then for a walk on the beach with DP. Got an awful lot of pressure on my pelvis now, but think it's more the effect of being upright all day rather than anything happening, as it's just a constant very mild ache.

charitygirl · 13/09/2008 17:43

Hi hopefully I feel your pain re: stretchmarks. I'm not due for another week but I was feling very smug and thinking I'd escaped them until last week when they started to bloom (although I know my bump is 'normal' size) - not too bad so far but I could have this baby inside me for another three weeks (I can't help thinking that lollipopmother's experiences will soon be mine!), by which time I could look like a purple and pink tiger.

Grrr! v annoying. they are added to the silvery crop on my hips from puberty - which is weird - did my hips appear that quickly? Why don't I remember that happening??

carrieon · 13/09/2008 18:07

Hello everyone, having a manic day so haven't caught up on this thread at all, but just wanted to let all you facebook people know that I've approved your requests to join the MN Sept 08 group! Please post your MN name on the wall of the group and get uploading those gorgeous photos!
Got some great bargains at the NCT sale today

jearund · 13/09/2008 18:18

My waters have just broken! I don't think Dougie's going to be waiting until Tuesday! Haven't rung the hospital yet but I have Strep B so don't know if I now have to have antibiotics when I'm having a CS. No doubt they will advise!

lollipopmother · 13/09/2008 18:23

Ohhh how exciting Jearund! If you're having a section though don't you need to get to the hospital before you get into established labour?!

foxytocin · 13/09/2008 18:28

Carrieon, it looks like i didn't manage to send a request in last night. will try again now.

Pitufina · 13/09/2008 18:32

foxytocin · 13/09/2008 18:33

Hi just to ;et you know had ds2 on 11th he came really quickly after keeping us waiting in labour 2 hours at hospital for less than 3/4 hour before he arrived. hope all goes well for LOllipop and everyone else

splishsplosh · 13/09/2008 19:35

Good luck Jearund, sounds like you'll be meeting your lo very soon

A friend came round to help me tidy this afternoon, she's like a whirlwind, so keeps me going - I now have a bedroom back looking like a functional room, hooray, which means I can sleep on a bed again. It's quite exciting! On the downside, i've got a bit of pain down at the bottom of the bump, and my back aches from all the efforts.

Plus dd is doing really well with the potty as long as I leave her bare bummed and a potty available, but I wish I had a downstairs toilet as toiling up and down every half hour to empty the potty is sooo tiring now

splishsplosh · 13/09/2008 19:36

Congratulations Gothicmama, sounds like you had a nice straightforward birth

blimey · 13/09/2008 19:40

Congratulations gothicmama soo quick!

Jearund good luck!
