Blimey Happy birthday!

MunkiMom · 14/09/2008 17:39

ellideb i do wish i could say it was me that had a baby jessica! but i'm afraid you've mixed me up with mumiyumi .

however, i did mention a Happy Due Date to ya!

goodness, i'm having crazy mixed cravings for the first time since early pregnancy...nothing like gherkins and ice cream. but i could really go for a massive plate of enchiladas, refried beans and mexican rice! {{{{{droool}}}
but then the other half is demanding a gravy soaked roast dinner! now, where did i put my magic wand that makes it all appear right in front of me without the effort? hmmm..

hope its been a chilled sunday for you all. any one getting ready for Full Moon Monday?? i wonder if we'll have any births...((unless you are planned c/s))

MunkiMom · 14/09/2008 17:41

ponymum thanks for the lovely birth story. i've only had a planned c/s with ds1 and i think you gave it the credit it can sometimes deserve. of course, its not what most want for their memory of having a baby, but in the end it just shows you can still have that beautiful bond to go along with the discomfort of recovery .

mamamufin · 14/09/2008 17:56

Oh ponymum CONGRATULATIONS!
You sound so happy and in Love. Enjoy your special time together it truly is so magical. I cant wait for us to have a meet up, and meet your beautiful baby. I hope you spd vanishes very soon. Reading how quick you have recovered from your cs, makes me really want one too. Sending big hugs and lots of love best wishes.
I have been crying since I read your post. I am so emotional and anxious right now. My dh asked why I was crying and I said that it was because I am so happy. Dh, ds and I have been dancing to new tunes on the ipod and I just realised that we are about to become a four and I am terrified. We are so happy as a trio I dont want to ruin that bond (if you know what I mean). Sorry for the blubber.
Anyway is that full moon tonight munki .

ninja · 14/09/2008 18:06

ponymum CONGRATULATIONS. It sounds like you've really bonded amazingly and you sound so happy.

blimey · 14/09/2008 18:55

and happy birthday to you for tomorrow pidge !!

I am off to dinner with dh in a minute so might actually pop a bit of slap on and hope it deflects attention from the massive bump

Congrats Ponymum what a lovely positive birth story after the hassle and pain of your pregnancy.

Think the full moon is tomorrow, for anyone who's banking on it...

biglips · 14/09/2008 19:33

oh fab...congrats to Ponymum.....

well ive been tidying up today ssooooo.....

i really wanted to go for an hour walk today with Dp.....my mum had my DD for the day today but as we went to Mothercare to get my nursing bras (before i forget!!), we came out of mothercare and walked about 5 mins....i was sssoooooo exhausted!!!! ...i couldnt get my breath and my legs were aching, i was walking like 1 mph!!! so i didnt bother with the hour walk or ill be crippled!!

Last night couldnt sleep very well as had loads of Bh's which is not new but they were strong ones but on the top of my uterus (sp?) and i could feel it was pushing the baby downwards...it was blardy painful!!...and same again today. Not long now hopefully!

MunkiMom · 14/09/2008 19:47

was it mama who asked about the exact day of the full moon for the month?

well, whomever it is/was, here is a quick view....mainly because i have too much time on my hands at the moment.

monday night will be the full moon.

hmmm, must look at the due date list again...

imoscarsmum · 14/09/2008 19:57

Ponymum I am so pleased for you and welcome to the world, Sarah. What a wonderful story - I just want to meet my baby so much now. Feel absolutely prepared and up for it. Spent day cleaning and hoping things will happen soon....

happymumathome · 14/09/2008 20:03

Evening ladies I am more a lurker than a poster but had to let you all know that baby Ben was born on Sept. 11th at 2247hrs.
He was born at home in the pool and my midwife only just made it by two minutes, literally. I was busy telling my DH what he would need to do if baby arrived before the midwife!!
He weighed 7lb 6oz and is feeding like a little champ.
This was my first waterbirth, fourth DS, and I thoroughly recommend it.

biglips · 14/09/2008 20:04

How do i tell if i got strong BH's or mild contractions?? as just being curious!

many congrats Happymumathome

hopefully · 14/09/2008 20:35

Congrats Happymum! Seems like we are just inundated with really positive birth stories, is great to read, really reassuring.

Biglips 'real' contractions will follow a more regular pattern, theoretically. There's quite a good contraction timer on www.contractionmaster.com which can show you how regular things really are. Also, they will def get stronger if it's real labour!

becaroo · 14/09/2008 20:38

CONGRATULATIONS! to ponymum and jearund - lots of love to you both and your new little ones xxxxx

BIGLIPS - if they are proper contractions they get closer together and more painful...paracetamol will not help, nor a bath or lying down - all of which seem to help/stop bh contractions.

(As I have been having runs of false labour/bh since week 33 I must admit I do feel like a bit of an expert!!!!)

I also tried to go for a walk today but after 10 mins my legs felt really heavy and uncomfy so gave up.

I also had a bit of a scary moment in the shower this morning as I went very dizzy and nearly fell over (lucky we have a shower screen!!) Happended again when I was drying my hair..... Anyone else had that???

Ds asleep so off to watch tess on BBC1. Love to all x

becaroo · 14/09/2008 20:41

Hopefully - I have this too - I think its spd/pelvic girdle pain. Sometimes it really takes my breath away. Really bad when getting in and out of cars etc.

On the plus side, I'm sure it goes away after delivery.

ninja · 14/09/2008 20:45

Congratulations happymum I;m hoping for a waterbirth this time so it's good to hear that you'd recommend it.

Damn - just found DD has headlice so I'm in for a couple of weeks of conditioner and a nit comb. The LO better not come in this time or I could see myself being distracted from my louse killing mission!!

Debs75 · 14/09/2008 21:03

Mumiyumi Congrats on what sounds like a super speedy and easy birth, lovely name as well.

Lollipop Grotbuster is ace try that.

MissusH · 14/09/2008 21:32

Whoo Hoo - congrats to all the new arrivals

All okay here - did the maternity unit tour today and was the only 2nd time mum there. The mw kept referring to me as though I was the wise one. As if! My dd is 6 - it will be like having a firstborn again!!!

Baby is sooo low now - when I sit on my ball it is though I am sitting on her head!

Had a bit of a hormonal meltdown on Thursday. Have been pretty calm and placid all pregnancy, but a row with DH meant 38wks of hormones blasted him in one go. Started speaking to him again on Friday evening!!

Then to make be feel just that bit better, 2 total strangers asked "is it twins" and " are you sure it's just the one in there" How bloody rude I gave them the look of death and stalked off! Only my friends are allowed to make comments like that!

carrie have just requested to join the Facebook group, if that's okay?

Debs75 · 14/09/2008 21:33

Wow just read all the pages so congrats to Gothicmama and Jearund
(If i have missed anyone else sorry I read a page and then forget what was on it)

Had my monitoring today they think everything is ok and back there Tuesday for induction at 1pm.

Have had really bad bh on Friday and again today, my belly feels like it is going to just stretch off my body. Got some pelvic pain as well a bit like needle pains shootong up me, tend to get them when i stand up or sit on the loo (for the 29th time today).

Really like the theory about puddings, I have been craving puds all day and really want a piece of cheesecake or gataeu before I go backto hospital.

Can someone please change me on the list as you have dropped me down 10 days, I have 9 left now. Thanks

Hi, I occassionaly dip in and out of this forum.

Had a beautiful baby boy last Sunday (7/09/08), 9 days early and emergency CS due to undiagnosed breech only diagnosed after 6 hours labour and at 6 cm dilation.

I never someone knew I could love someone so much .
