Sorry - no advice ipanemagirl although I think I few people have had a bit of leakage and iomplied it was hind waters - hopefully someone will come and give some advice soon.

Mella I was so hopeful that the spider would start it all off.

I think the problem is being on this thread we're all madly symptom watching!

ninja · 18/09/2008 10:00

Mine wrong too - and since it doesn't feel like it's coming anytime soon I'll change it (I put it right this morning but it's back - maybe it's trying to tell me something!)

Happy birthday mamamufin!!

And happy due date becaroo and melt76.

I was all keen this morning and after dropping the girls at school and childminder I went to our local pool, bought a ticket for a swim and then got to the poolside and discovered it was a schools only session!! Blast. So had to get a refund and am now on here instead of in the water.

I'm trying to summon up the energy to go shopping for the bits and pieces that I really need - maternity pads, breast pads, newborn nappies. Can't believe that with 9 days to go I don't have this stuff sorted yet.

Right - give me a kick into action - as a compromise I'm going to go to the shops on the bus rather than on foot and will start the trip with a coffee and croissant and then try to fit in a lunchtime swim after the shops. Sounds good.

MunkiMom · 18/09/2008 10:19

ok, totally off subject, but thats really no surprise on this thread, is it?!? :p

i'm doing a bit of shopping online for duvets and duvet sets for ds...is 2 this month.
any ideas on what tog is necessary for winter and the wee ones??

what do yours use?

ninja · 18/09/2008 10:39

My DD is normally warmer than me!! She kicks off her duvet at night and just wraps herself in a thin fleece blanket.

I'd say go by what you need and then adjust depending on whether your ds is someone who stays warm or gets cold.

Fleece blankets are a good standby to add on as well and DD loves snuggling up in them.

another RANT alert!!!!!

It is me or am i the least important person to my bloody MOTHER!!!!

my Dp's Dad is here to look after my DD - ie taking and picking her up from the preschool for me which is a godsent!!....Mum is at the Dentist as planned and she was to come here after the Dentist so was expecting her about 1pm TODAY...she had just rang me and said that she wanted to go and see her Mum for abit and she is about 3/4 hour drive away (on a good day on the motorway). I just asked her nicely to come straight here incase my waters broke etc and Dp's Dad need to stay here so my mum can come with me to the hosp as Dp is at Cardiff and he couldnt leave it till next week cos he got a new contract that will be starting next week using the pole system. What my mum cant connect that if my waters breaks, and summat happens to my mum..ie her car breaks down..ive gotta go into the hosp on my own!!!!!!

What pissed me off is that My mum decide to change things at the very last minute when i wanna be relaxed.. im expecting Dp home about 4-5pm tonite!!

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

biglips · 18/09/2008 11:07

she just rang and is on her way here...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ninja · 18/09/2008 11:09

Oh Biglips I feel for you - my mum also seems to be completed dis-interested and she and Dad are galavanting around the country during Sept, so no chance of any support there.

Have you gat a friend who could be on call for you or DD?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/09/2008 11:13

Ipanemagirl - If you aren't going to mention anything to your MW, keep an eye on your temperature. But if it starts to go up or the leak is an odd colour (green or brown) see your MW asap. Good luck!

ipanemagirl · 18/09/2008 11:56

Thanks Ililketo - that's just what I'mdoing. I think labour is slowly starting but don't want to jinx it. I"m sure the nerves about being induced are not helping... because my waters have been leaking since last night and I haven't called the mw yet.......
So I'm going to finish off stuff in the house and see if I can't get this baby moving. feel a little tight in my abdomen and some backache so maybe maybe.

MelT76 · 18/09/2008 12:32

TMI alert!

I've had a couple of trip's to the loo this morning where, when I wiped there was bright red blood. Put a pantyliner on and there is a little blood on that 2. I don't think it is a show as it is not a blob . Should I be concerned and should I call my MW?

ninja · 18/09/2008 12:34

I'd call - they may want to monitor you in case of infection.

becaroo · 18/09/2008 12:36

leonie - glad you are feeling a bit better. Amazing what some sleep and a bit of sunshine can do isnt it? Its absolutely gorgeous here in Derbyshire - bright sunshine and quite warm.

Have finally come to the conlusion that this baby will come when its good and ready and not before....not going to try any more curries, walks, sex etc....I'm too tired.

Dh and I did the deed last night though...god, it was like a revoltingly biological krypton factor...all pillows and duvets and legs everywhere!!!!
So undignified!

Any news on more babies???/ Come on, come on, I am having to live vicarioulsy through you lot who are having yours!!!!!

Love to all x

becaroo · 18/09/2008 12:39

Mel - yes, call your midwife....That happened to me with my ds and when I got to hosptial to be examined I was 6 cms already!!!!!

Hope its the same for you!!!

(ooh, I'm so excited!)..........

MelT76 · 18/09/2008 12:42

OMG becaroo. that would be fab!!!

MissusH · 18/09/2008 12:44

I feel for you biglips. My folks are in Las Vegas at the mo and are back 2 days before my due date.

All I've heard since I told them I was pregnant is "you had better wait to have this baby until we get back...". Well I'll try my best, mum .

It wouldn't be so bad, but she booked the holiday after we made the announcement, knowing that dd arrived a week early!!!

Am now getting daily texts from her - like I'm not going to let her know if anything happened...

blimey · 18/09/2008 12:59

MelT76 is the blood vaginal or back passage? if it is vaginal definitely get checked as soon as, back passage blood is pretty normal for various reasons but vaginal blood needs to be checked out.

ipanemagirl when I had a suspicious leak they said I had to get checked out - turned out to be nothing. But they do need to check for strep B if it is a leak, you do run a risk of the infection affecting baby if you've got strep b which happened to me with DS1 so I would get checked out.
sorry i can't seem to write good english anymore but I hope you know what I mean!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMAMUFFIN
like many things with me my cold remedies are a touch on the hippy side - keep a peeled clove of garlic between your cheek and teeth all day (actors do this and it does work and isn't too smelly) also have wet towels on radiators/use a humidifier at night and try to sleep in a more upright position ie with more pillows HTH

Hi I'm new to the site i'm due 23/09/08 with my second child althou i think i'm gonna go over my due date i have had some twinges but nothing that makes me think it's time! i was 2 wks over due with my first child and had to be induced which was dreadful and i am really hoping that i will go naturally this time! i had tried lots of loving , a whole fresh pineapple (mw suggested it only made my tongue numb ) and i went for a 3mile walk yesterday (i prob looked like a duck on speed or something) i really can't wait to meet this little fella and my first is really looking forward to being a big brother! my last mw appointment was tues i told my midwife i just did'nt feel like myself, the only way i can describe it is something feels off but i can't pin point what it is! and she just said she thought i was "ripening" up for labour. baby has been engaged since i was 35 1/2 wks he's just too snug! beginning to feel a little frustrated

Pidge · 18/09/2008 14:22

welcome lizzyleek - fingers crossed for some baby action for you soon. Likewise all you others impatiently waiting!!

I'm still sooooo content for this baby to stay put, and certainly not expecting anything to happen before my due date given my history. My BH are definitely getting much stronger though - very irregular but when they come they are verging on the painful. I have this fantasy that I will already be 4cm dilated by the time proper labour starts!!!

I fitted my swim in, which was absolute bliss. Also did most of my shopping, but am currently failing to find a new moses basket mattress of the right size, so might have to try online.

The brandy and coffee laden tiramisu I made for dp's birthday on tues is so enormous I have been eating huge helpings at lunchtime and in the evening every day since and we're still only half way through it! 'Tis very very lovely. Am off to scoff some more now ....
