Wow - loads of you have been on here today, it's great catching up and nice to know there's lots of people in exactly the same situation. My DH must be more desperate than me for this baby to make an appearance, I think if he hears "why can't he come now", or "I'm so fed up" once more he'll flip his lid. I really feel fro him - not quite as much as I feel for myself though

No signs for me either today, all the twinges in the world mean nothing I'm afraid without the painful contractions - so sadistic as it sounds, bring em on, as painful as possible

becaroo · 17/09/2008 17:04

LeonieD - good luck with your 2nd opinion x

Off for a quick lie down now. Suddenly very tired. yawn......

Evening all! Just back from seeing consultant, and about to go out for a meal... as I'm having a baby tomorrow!! (fingers crossed) Not as exciting as reading about shows and Waters breaking I know. Feeling really strange about it, but DD will be looked after a childminders for the next couple of days and as we don't have family close thats a big relief - and I don't feel I want to tell people I'm going in for elective CS. Not sure what the etiquette is, but know my Mum would only be worrying like mad. Hope to be out by DD second birthday which is Sunday! May get Mr.Nelly to post announcement - otherwise, thats all for now. Good Luck to everyone!

MunkiMom · 17/09/2008 18:11

lol
i just asked dh if we can do an Ikea run this saturday ((which is my edd))...
the look i got from him was of utter pain and agony! hehehe.

he begged that i just pay the little bit extra to have the items delivered....which we'd probably use in petrol anyways to get there in back. its a good hour+ away. i was kinda just hoping to have my waters go while in the store itself! ((wanted to hear over the intercom: "Clean Up In Childrens Furnishings")) hehehe

pah! oh well.

i have my final MW appt tomorrow. i haven't been so good at producing enough wee to test lately, let alone enough to catch it in the tube! must drink loads before bed tonight!

And i'm sooo hoping it will still be the fab stand-in MW! i have a few more questions i wanna ask (like is he still back facing, further down, & how long will the mw's at this hosp allow me to be in active labour before taking me to theatre, etc)

melT76 i dont usually drink lager (unless its corona/lime) but i second your comment! i'll just have the carlsberg for now .

MunkiMom · 17/09/2008 18:13

Good Luck for tomorrow nelly you sound very calm about it!

How amazing to know you'll see your LO tomorrow

mamamufin · 17/09/2008 19:01

Wow it certainly is all go on here today.

Congratulations mink what an easy birth. Enjoy your baby.

Good luck to all of those with labour symptoms too.

Good luck for tomorrow nelly.

This thread has become addictive.

No further progress for me. Infact all labour signs have stopped. Try to sleep well guys xxx

MissusH · 17/09/2008 19:04

Good grief - this thread moves sooo fast

Congrats to all those with new arrivals, good luck to the "show brigade" and good luck for tomorrow nelly !!!

Still same old, same old here. babe now very low - can feel huge pressure in my bottom (nice...) with random painful BH.

Am getting seriously annoyed with the AN clinic at the hospital. When I had a growth scan 2wks ago I was told by day assessment unit to continue with community care and be referred for an appt at AN clinic when at term. I saw my mw the next day and told her this. Ok, she says....

Saw holiday cover mw today and no appt has been made. She phoned the hospital and closest appt to term will be + 11 days!! MW not chuffed, saying "she'll have had the baby by then so a bit pointless!!". Am now waiting for senior mw to call me tomorrow as she may be able to override the system and fit me in...

I know I should have followed it up 2wks ago, but I can just about remember what I had for breakfast this morning

This follows on from 34wk appt at AN clinic where they noted down protein & leukacytes (sp?) in my urine but failed to tell me that I may have an infection and that they would get urine tested properly (too busy worrying about large bump measurement and booking growth scan!) First I knew was when the prescription arrived in the post.

Then when I arrived for said growth scan I had been booked in for Sept 2009 - FGS!!! Ended up having to wait for almost 3hrs until they could fit me in as they were fully booked - gah!!!!!

Ok rant over - and breeeeeeaaaathe

MissusH · 17/09/2008 19:05

oooh - long post, sorry ladies

cranmorefifi · 17/09/2008 19:07

feeling very down today. Not in the usual emotional "I can put my finger on why" way - more unexplained/ almost chemical. Hoping that means things are starting to progress. Also my pelvic bones feel like they are opening up a lot and it's becoming quite painful to walk. Have never heard of that one before. Hoping that means things might be happening.

Going to see MW tomorrow for sweep but fingers crossed I get some action before then. DH on night shift tonight - not sure whether to encourage him to try a little self induction before he goes!

LOL at the 'show' stories. I had a few days when I was thinking "is this little bit of mucous a show" now I know it definitely wasn;t!

My mind has gone and I can't remember who had their baby - minkersmum i think? Congratulations and I hope my labour is as short as yours ;-)

sunflower78 · 17/09/2008 19:22

Hi, news on Lollipop from antenatal thread - had baby Elizabeth on Mon night (her DH posted to let us know)! no news on annvan that I've seen though!

knickers - MW sent us to hospital today for blood test for jaudice (though I told her that it was the lighting as she looked a lot better, put nearly 1/2 kg on in 12 days and we being Italian had same problem with DS - it's just our coloring... so wasted 2 hrs but at least all ok. she's gorgeous and her big brother adores her, so all well thanks! still too small for bamboo sandy's. but not in hurry to see her getting big, she's soooo cute!

Pitufina · 17/09/2008 19:22

Good luck everybody who's got something going on. You'll have your babies soon!!!
Congratulations for the arrival. I can't remember now who it was, sorry!!
I have nothing to report! Still 9 days to go, at least I'm down to single digits now!

Pitufina · 17/09/2008 19:24

sorry, meant arrivals, not just the one arrival!

ipanemagirl · 17/09/2008 20:12

Congratulations Minkersmum, and good luck to everyone getting optimistic signs that baby is on the way - there surely will be a few more babies before the end of the day

I had an appointment with the consultant today, and instead of just listening to the heart, he did a quick scan... I was quite excited til i realised i couldn't identify anything at all that came up on the screen. He tried to check out the sex for me, but this baby is a stubborn bugger and refused to reveal all again, so still don't know.

We had a mouse problem, so put some poison down - feel guilty at killing them like that, but cannot face the bashing over the head either... found a dead / rotting 1 lurking in a corner of the kitchen yesterday when tracked down a funny smell, yuk.

Kitchen's due to be delivered next week - don't know whether to delay it again as electrician still not finished, and still nowhere to put it while we rip out old kitchen... wish I could wave a magic wand and sort it all out.

splishsplosh · 17/09/2008 20:26

Oh and notsoslimnow I met a woman the other day who bf for over 2 years out of 1 side, so it can be done if only 1 turns out to be operational

sunflower78 · 17/09/2008 20:49

oops, replied on wrong thread earlier - that'll teach me trying to breastfeed and read MN at the same time
good luck to all about to have babies!!

plusonemore · 17/09/2008 22:57

where is everyone? last message over 2 hrs ago????? you'd better not all be having babies without me...

blimey · 17/09/2008 23:58

soo quiet!!!
is everyone (except me) in labour?

OP posts:
WombFor1More · 18/09/2008 00:20

Nope I'm still here too lol! No baby in sight for me yet

Wish I had a crystal ball...it's the not knowing when/how it's going to happen that drives me mad. Everyday I wake up and then realise I'm still pregnant

Not long now though

foxytocin · 18/09/2008 00:24

i have to keep this one in till friday at least as my doula's dd has chicken pox and by then the contagious phase is over so she (my doula) out not be harbouring her dd's virus when i go into labour.

sigh. it is boring having no symptoms.
