Lollipopmother and Minkersmum congratulations on the birth of your little babies - Enjoy your time with them

Its all go today on here good luck everyone who thinks things may have begun.

Finished DD new bed (must have been the most complicated bed IKEA do - with trundle and draws etc))looks fab though .

Very bad BH last night again, given up on paracetomol - not strong enough - now on to the co-codomol. My mums arriving this afternoon will stay until the bitter end and help with DD and allow DH back to work (i've kept him at home the last 2 days after the serious contractions incident).

Looking forwards to the all the birth announcments

becaroo · 17/09/2008 13:27

Oh leonie I am not surprised you feel so down and confused.

I have excess water too - polyhydramnios and the baby has stopped growing and despite my ds having IUGR they just dont seem remotely bothered about my concerns. I feel like I am talking to a brick wall when I go to my appointments.

I am also borderline underactive thyroid but have been for some years so dont really take any notice of it. I also have Gilberts syndrome which is a liver disorder.

I am 3/5th engaged too but have been for some weeks, so I dont think it means anything is going to happen soon

GBS+ is not contra-indicated for a vaginal birth is it? My cousin had it and had IV antibiotics in labour and all was fine (he was a big baby too)

From what you have told me I cant see why they are so worried....plenty of women have VBAC after a large baby. Plenty of women are GBS+ and go on to have a VBAC. Plenty of women have underactive thyroid and have a vaginal birth.....

Your BP and bloods are fine so you dont have PE....have they done any doppler scans?

I really hope you go into labour naturally and get your trial of labour. If it doesnt work out then at least you will have had your chance and hopefully feel better about having a cs. Good luck x

Congrats to lollipopmother (and father!!)

And congrats to minkersmum - can't believe you were posting on here about 3 hours before the baby turned up!! That's got to be some kind of record.

Good luck everyone else - I have now completely lost track of who might or might not be in labour.

Definitely not me anyway! Thank goodness. I even survived the hell that is Ikea this morning and retrieved the missing bits for our kitchen. Not fun, but I was in and out in an hour, and that included about 30 minutes just hunting for the items dp had listed in that self service warehouse. Yuk.

I've just been on the phone to the police to report that someone broke into our front garden shed overnight and nicked my bike. Boo hoo. Though at least I had stopped using it for work and don't need a new one for a little while. And it is insured. And thank goodness dp had chosen to park his bike in our hallway over night because he uses it every day for work. So almost the worst thing is the damage to the shed - the wood is completely splintered where they crowbarred it open.

LeonieD - lots of sympathy. Is there any way you can ask for another opinion given your own consultant is away? If you do end up with a CS you need to have seen someone sympathetic so you don't feel like you were railroaded into it.

oh and i forgot to mention - feeling a little pround of myself. Went for growth scan yesterday (they were worried it was going to be a giant baby - but fine - if large) And they asked me if I wanted to know the sex of baby! Now I kind of wanted to know but DH really does not - and he wasn't there! Pressure! should i or shouldn't i? Well I was good and said No, I would have broken DH heart if i had found out and i'd be no good and keeping it from him. Not long until we both find out anyway

mellabella · 17/09/2008 13:43

oooooh my gosh. here's a funny story on how to have a bloody show .

I was just in the kitchen minding my own business, combating boredom by making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and out of the corner of my eye I saw THE BIGGEST SPIDER OF MY LIFE. Kidding you not, it's like 2 inches long! (I'm terrified of spiders and Mr. Mella is the one that has to get them and he's at work!) So I screamed and grabbed the window cleaner and sprayed it and started jumping up and down.

Lol, thankfully it died, but then I had a huge contraction and ran to the loo and low and behold- first show.

lakdf%&@(*@kdfjskld, still all grossed out by the dumb spider!

ninja · 17/09/2008 13:53

Now Mellabella you have to stay here and keep us up to date - the others have all gone away and there are several of us hanging on every word of this thread waiting for more details

Here's keeping my finger's crossed for you

MELLABELLA...youve just made me laugh sooo much! so after the event of this 'giant bogey thing dropping out of me'! ive felt perfectly normal, does anyone know what the show tends to mean in terms of how long left? i thought i read it could be a couple of weeks more? should i have felt something yet? ive not even had backache / period pain etc??? it also doesnt help that ive not had any bh so dont even know what im feeling for! guess ill just wait and see.....

mellabella · 17/09/2008 14:00

lol I'm laughing my butt off over here at the thought of how ridiculous that all was....

well, hopefully it did something! then I can tell the little guy about how a spider brought him on, haha

notsoslimnow · 17/09/2008 14:00

notsoslim I've heard that as well.... but it's gotta mean that something is happening, right? the midwives at our antenatal class said that it means that your dilating and effacing because then there's enough room for it to drop out. well hopefully for us it means SOON!

notsoslimnow · 17/09/2008 14:08

well what happened was.... as i was putting on my bra something started oozing out of my right boob.think it was collustrum? so in short went for a check as i was told after reduction milk ducts were likely to be ''not in working order'' however there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel and although noone can tell me how efficiently i may be able to breastfeed ,i have been told it would definately be worth giving it ago!!! i was over the moon, atleast now i have a chance to have a try! only thing is it only happened on right boob...but i thought at least that could be something!

becaroo · 17/09/2008 14:09

LeonieD - I'm off to the cleaning cupboard to get a good whiff of window cleaner!

Got to pick ds up from school in a minute - dont have any more babies til I get back!

notsoslimnow · 17/09/2008 14:09

notsoslim well, I've been having BH constantly for the past few weeks so nothing out of the ordinary I suppose. no twinges or anything for you?

MunkiMom · 17/09/2008 14:12

no fair mella!!!
i made the chocolate mint cookies last night, but when i grabbed my kitchenaid bowl, i found the BIGGEST brown wolf spider IN the bowl! ((seemed to be there a while as well!! all my attachments were covered in thick woolly webbing))

ohhhh gawww, it was creepy. i can't believe i was able to "unfreeze" long enough to toss the bowl outside on the lawn, and smash the spider.
((and to think, just yesterday morning my new Spider Catcher arrived in the post..i still couldnt use it!))

It's that time of year when the wolf spiders scurry into the houses for the winter. they are everywhere in my garage, and i dont bother them when i see them there...but when they come in my house, all's fair in smashin & squashing! ((ok for the record, i'm trying my best to avoid killing them...but i just cant get images of them being on my bed, my face, or even the new baby's bed))

i'm glad i'm not the only one having the massive spider experiences at the moment!

but for what its worth, mella here in the uk, you don't have to worry about poisonous spiders (like black widows or brown recluses)...but at the same time, cos these wolf spiders can be so big , its far too creepy to deal with!!

notsoslimnow · 17/09/2008 14:13

well that was it really,i posted something very similar to what ive just written here.was hoping you might see it as you knew how flustered i was getting with the thought of this formula.i mean it still might not work out but atleast i can give it a go.i actually asked on here if it would be a good idea to try and pump some more out to get things stimulated but people seemed to say that wouldnt be good.waht do you think?

notsoslimnow · 17/09/2008 14:14
