Hi everyone, this is Dom, Lorna's "better" half!

Lorna finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Elizabeth last night at 10.36pm, weighing 8 pounds 2 ounces. She had a day of labour and an epidural, now she's in over night because she needs to use a catheter.

She wanted me to pop on and tell you all the good news, no doubt she will be on here soon to discuss all the gory details!

biglips · 16/09/2008 20:50

HOORAY!!!!!!!! LOLLiPOPmother

browny · 16/09/2008 20:53

Congratulations Lolli and Notcitrus

Am exhausted after spending 1.5hrs trying to make 1 room downstairs look vaguely OK as doula is popping in tomorrow am. Sadly if you didn't see it before, it still looks pretty awful, lots of boxes stacked high, but at least there's some floor space now.

The electrician just drops his rubbish wherever he's working, if something's in his way he tosses it aside, doesn't pick up anything he knocks over... he's lucky my hormones haven't made me do something I'd regret, I just hope he finishes soon.

Who said their bump is soft? Mine always seems hard, except at the bottom of the bump, and that's cos that's my flab, not baby I seem to have lost weight off my hips though unless it's just all migrated to the front - I suddenly feel enormous.

So, Biglips could it be you next?? Anyone else think baby's on the way?

sunflower78 · 16/09/2008 22:49

Congratulations lollipop & better half - looking forward to hearing about it!

congratulations notcitrus too!!

Sassafrass · 16/09/2008 23:06

Congratulations on all the new arrivals.

The postnatal thread can be found here

blimey · 16/09/2008 23:13

woohoo lolli great news!!! no induction or csection - yay

not much action here although I am starting to worry that labour could start before elective and we don't have much emerg childcare sorted, we have just been texting all london rellies to put them on alert.
I had to be monitored today for fetal tachycardia but it was fine.
I am getting BHs more than last time and some very very loose stools and I can barely walk now due to pains in inner thigh getting worse and worse.
H/b cancelled his work to help out tomorrow, thank god, but I am still very very fedup now so big empathies to others who are finding this final stretch very tough.

good luck biglips sounds like you are next!

but first, thanks for the nice words re: the fall!
aside of a welt on the head, i'm ok. i think it has done something
to the baby..not in a bad way!! but perhaps kicked somethign into gear? he definitely
feels way into my pelvis since then. ((weird isn't it?))
minkers your cousin getting to the hosp just in time after her fall was very lucky!
LOL @ your comment, plusonemore...squirting fairy liquid about the place !
i woulndt recommend it. hehehe

to add to alll the baking going on in here today, i managed to put together a batch of
the nigella~ mint chocolate poo's ...heheh well, ok so they only look like poo. but they taste very nice.
((thanks for recipe..err..lolli i think?))

jearund thanks for posting the lovely c/s story. i'm so glad it was a much better
experience for you this time!! huge congrats again!!

so pleased to hear a little something about lolli!!! huge congrats!!

blimey i'm having those inner thigh pains as well, plus they have been getting increasingly
more and more tense this evening...i'm waddling for sure! (but i'm not getting in a worry because i suspect
its from my stumble earlier.

ok thats me done for catching up on the days posts! hope you all get a bit more sleep tonight.
nite!!

minkersmum · 17/09/2008 04:48

Hello everyone, quick update...
My waters went at 2.10 am

currently in agony!!

Midwife on way.

pool full and ready.

Will update asap.

hopefully · 17/09/2008 06:32

Cograts Lollipop! So pleased for you, and welcome, finally, to little Elizabeth!

Will update the list in a minute, since I'm up (after all that talk of bowels yesterday, mine finally decided to get in on the action at 5:30 this morning...). Now have the gut ache from hell, but think it's more to do with the chilli and chorizo pizza and apple crumble we had last night than anything getting moving.

Minkermum hope you're doing ok! Looking forward to news from you.

Congratulations lollipop fantastic news, enjoy your baby.

Thanks for your birth story jearund lovely to hear.

Thinking of all you that are over due. Its really frustrating.

All signs here stopped for the time being.

My bump is soft but thats because the baby is back to back.

My annoying cough continues. Any tips?

Enjoy your child free day carrieon

Take care x

ellideb · 17/09/2008 07:20

Oh my it seems to be a busy day today! I've been having regular contractions/sore braxton hicks since 4am this morning and I had a bloody show when I got up this morning so it looks like things are hotting up over here! I'm just sitting down to a big bowl of steaming porridge, made by my wonderful DP and I've started timing these pains. I will keep you all posted as much as I can! Good luck to everyone else in labour and waiting! X

ninja · 17/09/2008 07:50

Thinking of you minkersmum I hope the pool was good and that you have a beautiful baby in your arms.

Wishing you luck Minkers and Elideb.

Ok, silly queston alert.... can labour start even if you have no show or you r waters don't break? Not had an BH's at all before now but have been awake since 4 this morning and have had pains in the bottom of my bump and lower back every 6-8 mins for about 40 secs.

I agree Mel thats hoe my last labour began except they were every 3 mins from the beginning and throughout. They broke my waters in hospital as my baby was in distress.

I was wondering about a show/mucus plug (Warning- really silly question alert) Does it tend to plop out in the toilet like a little poo or do you notice it when you wipe? (so sorry...)
