lardybump · 01/10/2008 19:57

Yes I am not sleeping very well either. Keep waking up in the middle of the night and struggle to get back to sleep again....

oooggs · 01/10/2008 20:04

I'd like a moby too

Boys are fab, sensitive, loving and fun

oooggs · 01/10/2008 20:05

lardy - I can relate to that, if it isn't one of the 'current' children, its no.4 keeping me awake

winemakesmummyclever · 01/10/2008 20:37

I am convinced that chocolate is actually a vegetable. Well, it is made from cocoa beans afterall, and therefore should a part of your "5-a-day"

thom - you have made me want curry. Happily have some leftover chicken mung dahl thingy in the fridge from dh's curry cookfest the other night. Yum!!

chilledmama · 01/10/2008 20:55

One word ladies..... HEROES

oooggs · 01/10/2008 20:57

along with strawberry cheescake, carrot cake and tomato sauce?

Heros - of the chocolate variety?

chilledmama · 01/10/2008 20:58

Don't be silly...of the BBC2 variety!!!

PinkTulips · 01/10/2008 22:37

ooooh, wasn't it good?

thank god for reminders on sky or we would have forgotton about it!

KazzaL · 02/10/2008 01:40

It's 1.30 in the morning, but you'll be able to see that anyway, can't sleep as have soo much to do and now worrying about it all both at work and at home. DS still poorly, so it's my turn to be at home with him tomorrow (well today. He's not sleeping very well tonight either, hence why i am awake.

So I'm going to sit here with my cuppa (only drink rooibos, so caffeine isn't inhibiting my sleep) and do some of my work work, if i can log in at this time of night.

Please don't talk about anything to do with Heroes - we still have the last series sky+'d to watch along with the last series of Battlestar too - i think perhaps we watch (or don't watch and that is the problem0 to much.

Sky, the cheeky wotsits called last night to offer us their equipment protection package to cover the boxes & dish etc - £8 a month they wanted - I said it seemed like terrible value for money and no thank you very much.

sorry for waffling about nothing, my cuppa should have brewed now - hope you are all safely tucked up in bed and sound asleep

dinkystinky · 02/10/2008 08:42

KazzaL - hope you managed to get back to sleep! You must be exhausted today, take it easy hon.

Rosieposey - hope everything is ok; is scary re the blood in your urine but great that the hospital is checking everything out so carefully for you, and brilliant that the consultant has had a change of heart. Must be a huge relief to you.

Anyone heard from TBM (on here or facebook, which now cant access till home computer fixed/replaced)? Hope Tink is on the mend.

Nadssss - went to pregnancy yoga class last night and the teacher was advising on how you can sleep on your back after 30 weeks - which basically means you have to prop your upper body up with pillows/bolsters/sofa cushions (so you're at a 45 degree incline more or less) and then do the same with your legs so you're like a V with a bump. Apparently that will ensure you're not compromising your vena cava.... will also probably ensure that DH kicks you out of bed for taking up all the space and pillows in the bed....

onwardandupward · 02/10/2008 09:16

trying to think of a new thread title. Think it might need to have the words curry and talkative in.

Had a tiny oh-my-god-is-that-blood-in-my-urine scare yesterday, and then remembered how many beetroot stalks+leaves I'd had in my stirfry the night before

KazzaL · 02/10/2008 09:21

no sign of TBM on here or FB - hope everything is ok - i'm sure we'll hear soon

finally got back to sleep abut 4am and then got woken up by DS at 5.30 - managed to doze a bit on the sofa since when he dozed off too, but whereas he's running round full of life and destruction, i'm falling asleep. His new "game" is dragging the furniture around - the noise on the hardwood floors is already irritating me.

and he still has a runny bottom, but seems to have his appetite back - he's alrady scoffed a banana and most of my bowl of ready brek

PinkTulips · 02/10/2008 09:54

funnily enough kazza i was wandering around at 1.30 last night too. had to come downstairs for water and was oddly awake so toddled about for a bit. pity i didn't turn on the pc or i could have kept you company.

kept dd off playschool today as she said she was sick and she's going hysterical because she's changed her mind and wants to go in.... except none of us are dressed or organised so it's too late to bother. i can't win with her, last week she said she was sick but i sent her in and apparently she spent all day crying for me (very out of character) and realy wasn't looking well when i collected her. [sigh] one day i'll get it right!

TBM, hope no news is good news.

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2008 10:48

Morning ladies

Got a rotten cold and its very miserable when you can't take any decongestant.....so got a house that smells of Karvol plug-ins, olbas oil and Vicks.....

Scan was good yesterday....midwife fine today ...got my MATB1 form.....now I can get myself organised and get all that stuff out of the loft

Kazza.....sounds miserable with DS....are they not teething nappies? Hope the return in appetite also means a return to normal nappies for you...and you get some sleep.

KazzaL · 02/10/2008 11:12

Thanks LMN - but they are full blown diarrhoea i think as it's a definite 2 stage process somehting goes in and then within a couple of minutes it all comes out the other end. And the smell and cottage-cheesiness is def diarrhoea.

I'm coeliac as is my mum and i'm waiting for the paed to test DS too as his poo isn't normal normally and even hs nursery have commented on it recently. So if he is coeliac then with a damaged intestine any bugs will take longer to clear.

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2008 11:15

Oh you poor thing....you're right there is a very distinctive smell to real diahorrhea.....sounds like an intolerance could be a possibility esp with your family history. If he is though, presumably you're well used to dealing with it! When does he get a test?

KazzaL · 02/10/2008 11:26

we thought the test was going to be done at our last appt with the paed, but he decided not to do them as DS had been well since the last appt (only 2 weeks) and it was really late and past DS's bedtime by then so he was really grumpy.

next appt is now on 22nd Oct, the problem is you can't cut out the gluten till you;ve had all the tests and got a positive.

Just put the phone on DH too - so tired and he seems to think that his job is more important than mine and I should take tomorrow off as well.

rosieposey · 02/10/2008 12:38

Am soooo tired today got up for the usual wee run at 5.30 and couldnt get back to sleep as DP was snoring, its not even that loud to be fair and if i was asleep it usually wouldnt bother me but since im up a good three times a night i find it really hard to get back to sleep. Anyway after tossing and turning i got up and watched some tv whilst doing a spot of ironing.

Well will see my lo or 'Mylo' (geddit)lol in an hour and 30 mins. Half of me is dying to see him on screen again and the other half is worried about the actual anomoly scan. Im sure all will be well though :-) Every scan ive had he has never really dont much in the way of acrobatics so im hoping he will do some interesting movements today.

MarkStretch · 02/10/2008 14:31

Can I just say:

RRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

If i have to listen to ONE MORE moaning fecking bastard today I will SCREAM!!!!!

Sorry, awkward day at work.

Hope the scan went well Rosie.

laidbackinengland · 02/10/2008 14:33

Afternoon all. I was talking to one of my patients this morning who has 8 children, the last was born a week early weighing 11lb 13 . My DS2 was 10lb 4 and the thought of a baby 1lb 1/2 heavier is, well, !

I am off for a gender scan tomorrow (as the dear baby didn't want to play ball when I had my anomaly scan) . I think its a 3 or 4D one - which I have never had before - does anyone have any experience of those ? They always look a bit like aliens to me.

Anyway, must get on with some work - I feel very tired this afternoon..will anyone notice if I crawl under a desk to sleep ? zzzzzzzzzzzzz

dinkystinky · 02/10/2008 14:46

Laidback - we had a 3D scan with DS: loved it (saw him sucking his thumb and having hiccups), he looked exactly like his scan when he came out. Hope you enjoy it.

Colleague at work just brought in her 6 week old baby - had forgotten how tiny newborns are (though prob not when they are 11 1/2lbs!).

Markstretch - hope your pesky clients stop complaining and your sanity is preserved.

Rosie - hope the scan went well.

PinkTulips · 02/10/2008 14:53

i have colostrum!

sorry but i had to share that, was doing my usual in shower do i have any milk for ds squeeze and a drop of lurvely colostrum came out.... wonder what ds will make of that then

sorry some of you are having rotten days, have been sat on my bum all day myself. our house is like an igloo, have gotton our back to school allowance though so as soon as the cheque clears will be buying oil, don't think i can tolerate this much longer! my breathe is fogging in front of my face if i venture too far from the one electric heater we own (trying not to think of the esb bills we're running up )

TinkerBellesMum · 02/10/2008 15:50

Hey all, I'm back home now. Tink is out of hospital and staying with my parents for awhile (they're taking her to Malta next week) to give us chance to sort some things out here and it's a bit warmer there so probably better for her, plus my back is suffering. She's out of her asthma attack but still very full of infection, she's still being weaned from the inhalers back to her normal dose, she's having 8 hourly today and will be normal tomorrow if she is OK.

I've been updating the thread I posted the link to when I'm about.

Neeerly3 · 02/10/2008 16:00

afternoon all - long time no post, just back from portugal with family and getting back up to date with all my online aquaintances!

Bump had an alarming growth spurt on holiday, proper waddling now, plus my hips are KILLING me if I sit or stand or lie down for too long.

Anyone else getting pins and needles in their hands a lot at night? I am waking several times with dead hands and have to shake them to get the blood back.

DH has bought me a support cushion thing (like the V shape ones but with more of a pillow type shape at the top here I am sure there are cheaper versions out there, but he did it under his own steam when I moaned about my hips, so I am eternally grateful and eagerly await it's delivery.

how is everyone?

lardybump · 02/10/2008 16:28

evening all.

That pillow looks great Neeerly I would love one of those......

MS hope your day improved..

Tink so glad that things are getting better.

Hi to everyone else hope you are all well, only 1 week until my scan yay.....
