haha I may meet new people all day every day for a living, but I still find the prospect a little butterflies-in-tum inducing!!!

franch · 10/03/2005 17:56

i am feeling a bit better today. went into town yesterday afternoon for my driving lesson and as i arrived at work my best mate was there!!! she'd come in to see if i was at work...........had a 15 minute chat with her and tickled her toddler loads. lots of giggling and it made me smile.

most of what is getting me down is problems with rent/rates increase on our shop and a totally unsympathetic landlord

for the first time in ten years there is a very real possibility of the business folding.......and with a mortgage to pay and a baby on the way it is really worrying me. i try not to worry about it........but its just not that easy is it?

PC> definitely pop in and post.....i know i feel so much better for having you guys here to listen to me when i'm down.....and i'm absolutely up for returning the favour. have a good old long moan any time you like.

PC look after yourself and keep talking. I had mild PND after dd and think I may also be depressed now - just feel generally unable to cope although do have a lot to cope with - full-on job which I hate, two under two at home and a busy husband just about to take another set of exams. Its odd to feel like this at a time when you should feel elated about the prospect of a new baby. I guess I am just holding out for the spring/summer when my mood always lifts and am certainly counting down the weeks till I start my leave.
Big hugs PC (((()))))

A London catchup - I like it, good idea!

Quick question - is anyone taking/did anyone take DH/DP to their booking in appointment? Is it the done thing? I have absolutely no idea...

Have the most terrible carbohydrate cravings. Must pick up the exercise (have been swimming twice a week, but hurt my shoulder last time I went, so haven't been this week) - played netball last night (probably naughty, but really enjoy it and figure am more likely to get pushed/hurt in rush hour on the tube than I am in one of our netball games...) and noticed that my netball trousers were a little tight - unfortunately in the thighs as much as the waist. Not a good look!!

Hello to everyone! Hope you are all feeling better and that the sickness is starting to go - I should thank someone up there for not subjecting to me to that! Any tips for constipation anyone!!!! I suffered really badly with my first and can't believe it's happened so soon this time. I'm munching prunes, nuts, fruit plus the fibre gel they gave me last time ( worryingly still in date two years later - what is in that stuff?)yet nothing but a feeble attempt! So annoying as I spend half my life on the loo with my thimble size bladder! Off for nuchal scan tommorrow - a little nervous but excited too.

mummyhill · 11/03/2005 10:42

PC - Keep posting sweetheart we are all here for you I know it helps to talk if you find it possible I am one off the silly ones who bottles it all up and only seeks help when things are really falling appart have been on and off ads since i was 16 i have a good gp and health visitor who keep a close eye on me. If you really need someone to talk to face to face but don't want to go out try talking to your health visitor mine came out to me once a week whilst i had pnd and again after my miscarriage she was a great support. Everyone on mn has also been great when i needed to chat so keep posting.

Kiwifruit · 11/03/2005 10:42

Sarahhal - I sympathise with both the constipation and the thimble size bladder - I have both too!! Was going to investigate possible constipation solutions this weekend, so will let you know what I find out (such a charming topic of conversation!!).

franch · 11/03/2005 10:55

Think I'll post here rather than on Meetups to see if we can arrange to meet.

Phew!! DH and I were holding our breaths there for a while. A tornado swept thru the town where we bought two houses (NZ) with a huge amount of damage. We just found out now that we were the lucky ones with houses still standing and no damage . Moving back to NZ from Egypt in June so this along with what the hell to do with all our stuff is praying very much on my mind. The tornado thing was just about the icing on the cake.

Sarahhal, all the very best for tomorrow.

Kiwifruit, I would have taken dh along with me for all the baby things but logistics simply wouldn't allow it .

PC, hang in there kiddo. Great you've got some time off to recharge batteries.

Kiwicath · 11/03/2005 11:06

Awh, would so love to meet up with you lot. Anyone fancy a quick flight and some winter sun and come visit??

franch · 11/03/2005 11:08

I'm there!!!

Sallie · 11/03/2005 11:10

PC - I echo what Mummyhill said. I found my health visitor was wonderful when I had my pnd. And do keep talking to us as well, we are all here for you.

andif · 11/03/2005 11:14

Nice to see everyone's a bit more chatty today. Still feeling fed up and fluey here, so MN is about all I feel like doing.
Does anybody more technical than me think we should start a new thread - it's getting long again!

franch · 11/03/2005 11:21

Go for it andif - if you don't I will

andif · 11/03/2005 11:26

Franch, at the risk of sounding pathetic (and in another life I wrote complicated computer programs!!..) I DON"T KNOW HOW TO DO IT!!!!

PiccadillyCircus · 11/03/2005 11:28

If you don't do it can I?

PiccadillyCircus · 11/03/2005 11:30
