baby legs

MerryMarigold · 04/09/2008 20:19

barbareeba, I'll be around the corner and can def meet up, can come to you or you come to me...(no sure I'll be in a fit state to be seen in public!).

Also was thinking how awful it was of me not to say yesterday: IF YOU'RE EVER STUCK AND NEED A LIFT PLEASE CALL ME! I am a 5 min drive from Whipps and we have a huuuuuuuuuuge car now, so I could probably give you and 5 family members a lift! My number is 07949 086 304.

There's some lovely groups over here if you want to drive and you will already know someone (me ).

I took the plunge today and met some mumsnet mums IN RL. They were lovely, especially one who I really clicked with, and got to cuddle 4month old twins too. Ahhhhhhh...

barbareebaa · 04/09/2008 20:25

Sorry - computer is on go slow!

I live in east London - there are lots of young families around this area so am thinking there must be places they meet - I will just have to get asking around!

Dozymare · 04/09/2008 20:30

OMG OMG OMG am LOVING LOVING the babylegs!!!! Just have to wait till I get paid to buy some - they are just fab aren't they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 20:33

Aren't they just the cutest thing- and they last for ages, too. I have asked everybody for them- perhaps an ideal secret stork gift- well within budget??

Dozymare · 04/09/2008 20:35

how did you find these?!! are they very common on baby girls - I have never see girls wearing them but how convinient for nappy changing!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 20:37

OMG sorry that sounded like I was asking for some- how crass.... you know what I meant, just a general idea.
My sister is getting me some, she's fed up of buying things that are excessivly useful and wants to buy something cute, so I suggested these.

barbareebaa · 04/09/2008 20:38

Sorry - just saw your post Merry..
Wow! thank you I would love that! would be great to meet up and compare notes

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 20:40

Very popular if you use a sling, as trousers can tend to ride up, and they help keep socks on. Suit a boy or a girl, really.

coolkat · 04/09/2008 20:40

Never seen them baby legs before, could be worth investigating!

Sorry to hear lots of bad nights last night, must have been something in the air as up and down here to!

Think DD coming down with a cold and she sounds full of it and really not her self, calpoled her! past few days I felt like got bit of sore throat and ear ache

I have MW appointment tomorrow and am going to start talking about the birth - actually scared emotion!!

I must think about batch cooking, was thinking casseroles, lasagne etc. Will buy some freezer tubs when I go to tesco's this week.

Night ladies I am shattered, I don't know how some of you stay up so late I just feel wiped out and DH on nights so going to make the most of having the bed all to myself

Dozymare · 04/09/2008 20:41

you crass thing you!!!!

There you go barbaree - a merry meet up!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 20:44

don't tease me I'm mortified.

barbareebaa · 04/09/2008 20:51

Merry Am going to txt you my number - need to check with dh what it is tho

Thanks sooo much

twinklingfairy · 04/09/2008 21:33

haha, poor Pinky.
You Know your gonna get some now teehee

I had some for DD for ease of nappy changes too, they are fab. And they are good for when DH holds her when in trousers. Why can't men see that happening?
They were good even in the pram when she was a bit older.
Good for boys too, my friend bought a pair sharpish, for her DS, when she saw them on DD. The fire type ones, very boyish!

MonkeyMargot · 04/09/2008 21:37

Pinky I like the way you subtly dropped the hint for some baby legs...I'm going to take some lessons from you to make sure Father Christmas brings me what I wish for this year!
Also - am LOVING your new crazy Japanese fabrics - Funky Fruits are brill!
Hello to the new ladies Sharon and Laura. sharon - please let me know your findings on changing bags - I've left my DH to investigate these - not sure if that's a good idea or not - but since he's going to be a SAHD, it needs to be quite manly!!

Dozy On subject of routine, did you follow any particular book e.g. Gina (The Anti-Christ) Ford? A few of my friends have said that some elements of Gina are worth following. I'm keen to establish a routine as want to make sure baby is sleeping and feeding well before I go back to work and leave PFB with DH...

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 21:38

I really wouldn't mind having some- DD still fits hers, obviously, so I want some more, I just meant it was a gift idea for someone then realised how it looked.. shut up Pinky... r I'll get my coat

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 21:41

They are looking good, those fabrics. I have some more to come, but they are the really bright ones. Bit of a delay on my Minkee order at the mo which is very frustraing as I don't have much time left to get things done.

twinklingfairy · 04/09/2008 21:44

I could not ever have a routine. I would never be able to stick to it, aside from the fact that I hate them. Though I can completely understand it when/if you have to go back to work. It does make sense to feel you are more in control of it all.
But, on the other hand, don't most babies fall into some sort of routine by about 12 weeks anyway, without forcing it?

That programme that showed the 3 different styles, the routine one just made me so mad. It just seemed cruel.
But the attachment one was also just extreme.
And the poor lady left to her own devices seemed so confused, poor thing.

Hmm, Twinkling is off on a mind ramble. I do that sometimes

twinklingfairy · 04/09/2008 21:48

Pinky, were do you get your fabric?
I make bunting and my local shop is not great for choice.
Also would love some of that minky fleece just to try, it sounds nice and soft and cosy.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/09/2008 21:50

DH has just been sorting out a wee cock up on the Secret Stork.....so those of you who hadn't heard anything should have done so now...but please check your spam folders! Profuse apologies from MrDaisy.

hi to Laura as well.....we are mad, but you've probably figured that out by now

on the subject of Gina Ford....I said I'd send my copy of the Contented Little Baby Book to someone.....but can't remember who . refresh my memory...please

MonkeyMargot · 04/09/2008 21:53

Lacks I ordered the Gina Ford book from Amazon and am planning on reading it on Saturday when we travel to the South of France by train for our last holiday ever as a couple .

PInkyminkyohnooo · 04/09/2008 21:56

Mainly online from the US, but also particular local shops, crafters swaps.
Ebay can be good.
Minkee comes from US. You have to watch out for customs tax on new fabrics- not so muchn the tax itself but the handling charge from the P.O.
I have friends in the fabric trade, through BIL who bring bits over for me with their bulk purchases.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/09/2008 21:59

ooh, we need a November Bazaar for all these creative types. I'm going to try knitting some wooly nappy wraps when I have a break in the backlog of knitting I'm doing at the minute.
Have just done a dash out to Sainsbury's for some eco disposables. We are still having huge issues with DDs bum and thighs and I've been advised to try ecos instead of the usual suspects. So we shall see what happens.

twinklingfairy · 04/09/2008 22:03

Oh well, will just have to keep hunting for my own wee bits here and there.
So hard to get reasonable priced vintage type stuff. Cath Kidson's are just so beautiful but you pay for them
Trawling Ebay is ok but you never really know what you are getting and I only need wee bits.
Will also keep/start looking in charity shops for large skirts that I could get loads of triangles out of for very little money.

twinklingfairy · 04/09/2008 22:03

Oops, manners twinkling. Thank You Pinky, for your info
