Hepzibah!

twinklingfairy · 17/09/2008 17:18

at obs attempts for 3 times in one night! I would not be attempting that even if I were not pregnant!
I was just thinking to myself how much DH is out of luck, on that score, too. By the time I go to bed, my groin is aching. I think someone else said theirs was the same?
Every time I turn over in my sleep, my legs are clamped together! It hurts if I don't. So I doubt DH has any hope by that point!
poor man
If my libido does ever return, DH is never in the vacinity. So we are both left frustrated by the timing. Not too much though, it soon dips again.
Again, poor DH.

Have to say, still not a fan of Tallulah.

DH is so keen on Max, but I have to say I just don't think it goes with Bernadette.
We had thought on Eva, for DD as well as this one, but I felt there would be letter envy. In that Bernadette got a whole 10 of them, Eva only got 3!
I feel the same way about Max, now we know it is boy. Just not enough meat in that name, IYSWIM.
Gotta be something a bit bigger, you know?
But still has to mean something to reflect the battles this wee guy has fought, and won, just to be here.
Help??

Dozymare · 17/09/2008 17:20

can I second on Hepziabah!!!

I have just found a thread int he baby names section on the name and it has a mixed reaction (not that I care as I have always been a rule unto myself )

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 17:20

Yup I always buy Tula purses! but it's not actually my daughter's name!
DM the baskets, yes they are on the website but it say's they are not available to buy online for some reason, you would have to ring up. The ones I have are the smaller size- the bigger onnes are massive.here but I think the price is for the big ones, It think the smaller ones came in threes, can't remember exactly.

Dozymare · 17/09/2008 17:25

OMG HAVE to share this with you.....my boys LOVE rice pudding - especially on a day when we have spent a few hours in the park running around like loons.......well I usually bake one in the oven for 2-3 hours and serve with a fruit puree of whatever fruit I have to hand!

Anyway, got back today and didn't have enough time to cook but saw on the pack you could do on the hob for 5-7mins....i chucked in some milk, vanilla essence and a bit of caster sugar and my goodness it is pure heaven!!! So much easier, quicker than my usual way!!!!

Luckily enough left for me

Dozymare · 17/09/2008 17:27

Pinky you are a saint! They even go with my vintage red gingham feel to the nursery!! Thank you, looks like a trip to BM is in order!!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 17:30

I think the name theads on mnet can be very dull, I would chose something you like and go with it.

MM you could always go for a Maximus or Maxwell etc., not just Max?

Lula is a name in it's own right, but we use it as a 'pet' name for DD as it was as much as DS could manage when she was born.

Dozymare · 17/09/2008 17:30

look what I just found....half the price AND an extra basket....do you think they will be any good????

cgi.ebay.co.uk/IKEA-Nursery-Baby-Cotton-Red-Gingham-Storage-Boxes-New_W0QQitemZ250295196306QQcmdZVie wItem?hash=item250295196306&trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&trksid=p3286 .c0.m14

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 17:34

Sorry for that appalling misuse of apostrophe there. Does anyone else find than Mnet is rendering them illiterate?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 17:36

They look nice, but are they just covered boxes? The jute ones are really tough. You should ring up and ask them, as I think the price on there is for the really big ones, as I say.

Dozy - I love Tallulah. Can't use it as close friends already have a Tallulah.

Re. Hepzibah - my husband's most recent suggestion was in fact Hepzibah Lulu. He thinks it cool. Written down, it just looks odd. Indeed, it looks bizarre. Hepzibah/bizarre. He also came up with Babette today. I DON'T THINK SO! Sounds like Baboon.

Stop talking sex - I ain't getting any . Well, once on holiday last week. With MIL in the next door room - romantic huh.

Max variations - Maximillian/Maximus?

Dozymare · 17/09/2008 17:55

MONKEY We definately like the same names don't we?!!!!!

MonkeyMargot · 17/09/2008 17:56

Ooh and forgot to add, on subject of sisters/siblings, it is so true that parents "big up" the achievements of one to the other. Anyone would think they wanted to irritate you by directly comparing the two of you. The other thing I find as my parents get older is that they take on the opinions of others instead of forming their own. Example, Mum phones me to discuss the wedding we went to, and because my sister had a shit time (cos she didn't know anyone and is a grumpy cow) my Mum started being all negative about it too. But once I told her I thought it was a brilliant wedding, she has now hijacked my opinion instead. Weird. And she doesn't even read the Daily Mail

MonkeyMargot · 17/09/2008 17:57

You do have excellent taste dozy. But don't you go using Cecily! It's my definite fave right now. Get on yer bike!

twinklingfairy · 17/09/2008 18:10

That is a lovely story Dozy
I tried to tell DH that that was what the full name meant but he was not so keen (sorry) on the full Maximus as he was on Max.
I loved Maximillian, on his birth certificate, but just to be know as Max on a day to day basis.
But DH said no for 2 reasons : He does not like maximillian and I don't think he/we really want one name on paper, another in life. If you don't like the one on paper why bother with it at all?
Just to embarass your child later in life??
tempting haha

Wouldn't he stand out from the crowd with a name like that though, Maximillian!!
I so want my childrens names to be the only one on the register, but maybe that is taking it too far??
I am truly split?
What do you guys think?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 18:12

Sorry DM did I say something out of order then? Missed all that as I was sumomnned to dinner. I didn't mean to sound bossy.

The Ikea ones look very good. I'd try and have a look at them in the flesh so to speak.

Anyhoo Cecily is a lovely name. I really like Imogen and Lydia. Girls names are really hard, I think.

Gawd Monkey don't get me started on my family. They would try the patience of a saint.

twinklingfairy · 17/09/2008 18:14

Oh sorry dozy do you want me to remove mine?
I was typing away merrily as you were removing

twinklingfairy · 17/09/2008 18:15

Ooh, yes pinky I like all three of those
Harrumph, I think girls names are sooo much easier!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 18:18

Oh I see what that was about now. Catholic guilt kicks in and I always assume I've done something wrong!!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 17/09/2008 18:37

We have just had a major relief in this house, as we have finally manged to find DS's bear who has been missing since we came back off holiday!

He was hiding in the pannier bag I use for the children's waterproofs

I have been scouring the internet for a replacement to no avail and was beginning to get desperate.

MerryMarigold · 17/09/2008 19:08

Oh no, DOZY I hate it when posts are removed... I am the nosiest cow on the entire planet! Was it about Max? Pinky...wasn't me or Margot talking about Max, twas twinkling, though I am sure you've got that by now!!! Just to clear my name, ya know!!

Margot am still loving Cecily. I love Cecilia too, ds can sing the Simon & Garfunkel song, it is hilarious, "Cecilia, you're breaking my heart..." I think you're having a boy though!! [Dunno why]. How about Hubert?! Next one could be Hepzibah. They sound...interesting...together!

I am still undecided on names. Only got 2 choices anyway, and so much depends on the surname I think. Would love to test them out on y'all, but...too scared at responses and also the names bit of the birth announcement is half the excitement (for me anyway). twinkling I loved Eve for a girl, but can't get a boys name which goes with it. Got a girl and boy's name 'combo' which I like (not beginning with same letter, but just sound nice together and with ds's name). But not really convinced on them. I was though, so this could be lack of sleep, negative 3rd trimester hormones etc.
