Congratulations Jenpet Welcome SamuelTalia Glad you found us. congratulations.
I am sooooo excited. I am going to bed early tonight. This remind me of the day before my wedding day.
Next time I sit in front of the computer I would be a complete mum. No more for me. Boy ang girl, perfect.I remember I wanted another boy, but I am so glad it is a girl now.
You will see news from dh tomorrow. I would make sure he does not forget.

Kisses and thank you

potxola · 26/08/2008 20:56

jearund I asked about the arnica and it is ok to take it before the operation.
They have given me 2 pills, one to take today at 22:00 and another one tomorrow at 6:00 and i can't eat anything after midnight today. they will use an epidural and a spinal tomorrow.

mamamufin · 26/08/2008 21:00

I had my 38 week check today all is fine i asked for ve the mw could feel the head its just sitting there no wonder it hurts to walk my cervix is short and anterior but closed so hopfully not long to go now ds was born at 38 weeks.

potxola · 26/08/2008 21:21

NEWSSSSSSSSSS I have just had a call from one of the midwifes at my hospital.

They have had lots of emergency C-sections so the electives planned for today will happen tomorrow, so MINE is going to be delayed to thursday 28-8-2008!!!!!!!!!

I need to call the nursery I was taking my ds tomorrow and ask if thursday is ok.

I am laughing because 28 is my favourite number and I was disappointed when they told me it was going to be on the 27th.

PLUS my consultant, the one I really like, works on thursday I seem to remember.
So, I am not going to be next, girls. Maybe one of you ..........

jearund · 26/08/2008 21:22

mumiyumi my midwife said today they've changed the guidelines and don't see you as often any more, but she has pretty much stuck to the old guidelines which means 4 more appointments than under the new ones. However she also said that there is no 37 week appointment, just 36 and 38, although she's happy to see me at 37 if I want.

Incidentally I'm not engaged yet but the baby's head is 'at the brim' and any further down and it would be engaging. Not that I particularly want it to though seeing as I'm having a c/s.

Looking at the list - wonder what's happened to Excitable? She was due yesterday but it seems ages since she's been on.

Talia Congratulations! Glad you had an easy birth - and in water too, you lucky thing!

jearund · 26/08/2008 21:31

Potxola what a shame about the delay! At least they have told you now though so you can still eat - better than getting there and then being sent home after waiting all day. Funny about the date though - 28/08/08 definitely has a nice ring to it!

Jenpet - sorry for getting your name wrong before and congratulations! Welcome Samuel - I'll update the list in a minute though you'll need to add his weight when you know it.

thank you kiskidee

Sunshinemummy · 26/08/2008 22:46

Good luck for Thursday Poxtola.

Yes my recovery seems to have been really easy. Maybe I should anticipate a crash and burn at some point .

splishsplosh · 26/08/2008 22:55

Congratulations Sunshinemummy, Talia and Jenpet - it's all beginning to seem more real now...

I'd quite like to stay pg for longer, despite the horrible rib pain and tiredness. Though for the last week i've had a nasty cough and every morning when I wake up I cough so much I vomit

I got a call from a group of midwives today saying they have a vacancy when I'm due - I think they're called Ruskin midwives?? There are 6 of them, you supposedly get to know all of them during your antenatal care and then 1 of them should be at your birth - it's probably a bit late now for it to be like that though. The only downside is having to travel for about an hour to see them, instead of seeing the ones at my GP.

Tomorrow i have to go to see the cardiologist at Kings and have some tests - hopefully they won't decide i need any intervention. I don't want planned cs etc if possible

jennylindinha · 26/08/2008 23:01

OMG you lot! I'm offline for a couple of days and there are 5 pages of new thread and 4 new babies!!!

Congratulations to Sunshine, Jenpet, Talia and Crabby!!! Hope I've not missed anyone.

Welcome to new peeps and I hope everyone is ok and looking forward to seeing their new babies... I will be one of the last, possibly even October. But - I'm not ready for this LO just yet so a few more weeks will be fine by me.

Goodnight for now and hope those new babies sleep peacefully for their tired mummies...

jennylindinha · 26/08/2008 23:03

This thread is getting so excited - I woke up really tired (DH came up to bed at 4.30 and clomped around turning on all the lights looking for PJ's so that was the end of my night!)

Now I feel all invigorated, new babies each time I look.

Congratulations to Sunshine, Jenpet, Talia and Crabby!!!

Who'll be next?

MunkiMom · 27/08/2008 09:53

welcome milkbeard! ((and yes, starlight is speaking the truth when she says: "i challenge you to keep up with us"! i'm still relatively new to this thread and
i have an incredible time keeping up with these gals! but it's still a good place to post your fears and excitment about the upcoming birth...oh , and good reading material
as well.

starlight, you mentioned getting mini candy bars (mars) to snack on during labour. i've only had elective C/s so i haven't a clue on what sort of snack food to bring with me to help with the stamina/
energy levels of labour. of course i could eat all the mars bars in site, but any other suggestions??
((suggestions from anyone really)) should it be foods with high sugar for the glucose levels? or should i also take in something savoury like a pasta or something, for the carbs?

Talia!!! huge congrats to you! and how appropriate that you were on this thread when your waters broke?!?!
well done!

Also, many congrats to Jenpet as well! welcome Bebe Samuel!

happy wednesday all, looking forward to hearing of more arrivals!
