{{{{{ HUGS }}}}} LOW

Dizzy, DD3 has such personality already. Love the threesome shot.

Down in the dumps this evening. DD1 feeding off my mood and reflecting nicely. DH at a loss with two crying females in the house...has gone off to be alone with Reese in the computer room to watch football.

OP posts:
miamla · 26/08/2008 07:41

ooh, am i the first one up? guess i'd better put the kettle on!

sarahnh your DH= my DP. any ideas how we can sort them out? that's great news about Tess' weight, well done to both of you!

foghorn I made same mistake as you by doing too much in early days. hope you enjoy your soa time

TS pleased to hear dd1 is adjusting just a little bit to having a little sister around

LofW not sure what to say, just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you and your little one. hope the antibiotics start working for both of you doon

now, without wishing to wind you all up i just wanted to share the news that i've slept for the last two nights!! It would seem that T thinks that its a good time to start sleeping during the night Sunday night was 12.30 til about 6.30 and we did 12 til 6 last night. i'm by no means counting my chickens but boy do i feel better after a couple of long sleeps. DP woke me up at about 4 this morning to ask if everything was ok. erm yes, i was sleeping! i'll quiz him about it later, suspect he had a bad dream.

skim read the thread and it looks like we've got some more babies! congratulations!!

miamla · 26/08/2008 07:43

TS sorry, didnt see your last post before i wrote above. is there something nice that you and dd1 can do together to help both of you feel better? even if its just scoffing a bar of chocolate. hope things are brighter very soon

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 08:23

Good morning all!

TS - Second miamla's suggestion of doing something nice with DD1 to cheer both yourselves up.

miamla at two nights' sleep!

My MIL is quite sad, as her cat died yesterday . It's quite funny in that she'd been threatening to have him put down for the last six months because he'd got so incontinent in his old age, and she was constantly cleaning up after him. Obviously everyone knew she'd never do it, and now he has popped his clogs naturally she's really quite upset. Mind you she's had hime a long time. Her grown up DD's used to dress him in dolls clothes and push him round in a pram when they were little! 20 years ago not bad going for a cat really?! Ah well RIP Freebie.

cyteen · 26/08/2008 09:01

Morning all,

LoW sorry to hear of your health woes - hope you and littleLoW get well soon xx

dizzy your girls are just sooooo cute together and separately too, obv, but that is a lovely photo

Curry last night did nothing, apart from taste good and fill me up. Had a lovely snuggle with the boyfriend this morning and am now sat in front of the tv, still massively pregnant Another eventful day ahead then. I did just have a nice cuddle with my girlcat who was all over me - maybe I smell of milk?

miamla · 26/08/2008 09:37

dizzy your girls are beautiful, truly truly beautiful!

albs don't be down about the feeding. i think you've done a great job getting this far. i really don't know how you have.. i've been at the end of my tether on more than one occasion and that's without me having a DD and sore nips. repeat after me "i'm great and doing my absolute best for my baby" keep repeating it until you believe yourself!

oh and i asked DP why he woke me up to check i was ok. apparently he thought i was dead from the position i was lying in I do wonder about him sometimes!

arse! i've just woken T up by laughing at Friends! oops, back in a min! But it is a particuarly funny one, the one when Rachel's sister Amy turns up

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 09:39

Hi Cyteen

how am I managing to have restless legs while awake? Anyone? gah, going to go for a waddle to ease them some.

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 09:40

I had a bowl of porridge for breakast this morning. first time in ages, and it was really good. I'm glad we've run out o bread, or I would just have had toast as usual!

PetitFilou1 · 26/08/2008 09:49

dizzy lovely pictures - dd3 looks very cheeky already

low Sorry to hear about the mastitis and your lo's infection - you poor things - my sil had mastitis and it is basically what made her give up bf. Seems to make people feel very very ill.

sazzles I am definitely on for the RL visit to CWP - roll on 'normal' life without huge pregnant stomach

Still nothing here - had some stronger period type pains but not translating into anything. I think I may be in latent stage of labour though as they are stronger than yesterday.

Just discovered the shower tray is leaking and has rotted the floorboards in our bedroom (arrrgh) - dh is now really stressed and has just been yelling at me (just what I needed

Hope to come back later with some better news...!

miamla · 26/08/2008 09:49

cyteen have you had any "signs" so far? (sorry, i've lost track of what's happening on here!) long, fast walks seemed to have a good effet on T's eviction. Oh, and lots of bouncing on my ball.

ann thought of you yesterday, we had a wander round bluewater. hard enough now let alone if i was pregnant still! dont know how you managed it

actually ladies, perhaps you have words of wisdom for us. we went to mothercare looking for a bouncy chair for T because he hates being still but we were completely overwhelmed so left empty handed. is it better to get one that bounces automatically ie batteries required or one of the simple ones that T can bounce in by himself? Also, we're thinking a play mat would be a good idea with dangly bits to hang down, anyone got any recommendations?

miamla · 26/08/2008 09:59

cyteen that was clever! you answered my question before i asked it!
re DH, you know its not your fault about the shower so try and let it wash over you. leave him alone for a while for him to calm down if you need to

miamla · 26/08/2008 10:12

lol, looks like i'm talking to myself! hey ho, i'm going to carry on, not sure when i'll get back on again!

T has got a new trick.. whilst bf, he'll open his mouth just a little bit, let some milk dribble out and then carry on sucking.. Fine if i notice in time but i didnt when we were at my mum's and we've left a little milk stain on her sofa. oops. its a good job she loves him so much!

will noone talk to me? i'll carry on posting until someone does!

cyteen · 26/08/2008 10:21

Hehe, I'm still here [lazy emoticon] Haven't had any signs yet apart from a faint ache in the lower back and lower front area, which has come at night for several nights but not translated into anything yet. I definitely feel much heavier in the pelvis, so when I see mw tomorrow I expect she'll tell me he's more engaged. But otherwise, el zilcho.

T sounds very cute

miamla · 26/08/2008 10:31

ooh but it sounds like things are moving in the right direction. all the pains sound like good pains. what are your plans for today? i know its probably the last thing you feel like but a fast walk, even if its just round the block, might get things going

T is adorable but I appreciate I'm a little biased! he's also very stinky, i think someone needs a nappy change! also, i hadn't realised how much babies fart, he's affectionately being referred to as "little fart machine" at the moment!

cyteen · 26/08/2008 10:34

lol My NCT friend came round with her baby boy on Friday and he farts for England as well It was most amusing listening to him feed: gulp/fart, gulp/fart, gulp/fart...

I've got nothing planned for today (DP is back at work) so will force myself out of the house later for some brisk walking Weather is uninspiring, but twas ever thus.

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 10:34

Miamla hi!
Lol at little fart machine

If you're within travelling distance ofBluewater, we should maybe have a meetup sometime? Obviously only after baby's arrived etc.

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 10:38

I'm probablynot great company this morening. So tired, had yet another totally sleepless night. so had three hoursnight before last and nothing since then. How am I still alive/sane?
Or maybe I'm not sane? If you've lost it you can't really tell yourself can you, only others would notice.
ho hum.
Really fancy somemore porridge

hi everyone!

still waiting here too - how did the it get so close to the due date without me realising it?! have been having similar evening pains to you cyteen - get all excited only to wake up feeling 'normal' again!

more raspberry leaf tea for me today...and thinking about writing something that will pass as a birth plan. DH keen for one even though i'm not really sure what to write

Same here wtmc - every morning I wake up disappointed not to have ruined our mattress with breaking waters in the night Excitement is in short supply at this point, as you can probably tell.

I'm off the RLT now though, the stuff gives me such painful heartburn and I figure that whatever effect it's going to have, it will have had it by now (been drinking it since 33 weeks).

You have reminded me to email my birth plan to DP so he can print it out, cheers It would be typical of me to write one and then forget to pack it in my bag!

WTMC - I don't have a birth plan, and the mw was rather less than helpful about it all . All she did was note down that I want a waterbirth and then say 'go with the flow'. Also wandering how due date had come up so quickly. However, ALthough bumpy's head is engaged, I don't feel any feeling of something having moved into pelvis? So I'm guessing we're not talking about baby arriving any time this week Just want it out so I can get some sleep (between feeds obviously)

miamla · 26/08/2008 10:50

you lot are like buses!

cyteen mine's just like that too except its more like...
gulp/whinge/fart, gulp/whinge/fart, open mouth a little bit to start a leak, gulp/whinge/fart This is continuing for a while. each feed is about 45mins to an hour long, no wonder he's sleeping better..he's too full to do anything other than sleep!

seriously, a walk will really help but make sure you've got a charged mobile with you just in case!

annvan we're about 40mins from bluewater. not my most favourite of places but DP desperate for new jeans so needs must and all that. happy to meet up though once you're settled with LO.
if you fancy more porridge, go for it

if you hear my doorbell go can someone please remind me to put a top on before answering it? with marathon feeding sessions its easier just to keep the norks out and available!

wtmc and annvan....having a birth plan was really useful for us. it meant that hospital staff didnt need to ask us hundreds of questions about what we wanted. and if they did ask, we just told them to look at the plan

to give you an idea about what was in our plan we had details about

  • the injection for the 3rd stage (placenta delivery)
  • vit K injection for baby
  • pain meds. along the lines of, if this happens then i want this, but if that happens then this will be needed etc
  • skin to skin as soon as baby born
  • bf to be tried asap via a breast crawl
  • DP to cut cord
  • when cord was to be cut in relation to the pulsations
  • preferred position to give birth in
  • whether or not you're happy to have the drip to speed things up if necessary

i'm sure there was more but i can't remember now! if i think of anything else i'll be back!

i made it clear in each case that A was preferred option, followed by option B and then C. But in an emergency, we were to be consulted with DP having final say

Miamla know what you mean about Bluewater. Mind you I dislike shopping centres full stop. When I lived in Sheffield the nearest shops to my parents house was Meadowhell! there's something so soul-destroying about shopping centres. I go into a kind o trancy daze whenever I'm in one!

Cyteen I've also given up drinking RLT due to heartburn. Have really bad heartburn anyway, drinking the stuff feels like advanced torture.

miamla Bouncy chairs - you do not need a battery powered one (sorry but that made me lol!) Just get one that you can put in a range of positions (ie quite flat and quite upright and something in between - as lo won't like it that upright at this point) They do a nice sheepskin one in John Lewis though I haven't looked at it in any detail.

I'd recommend the Tiny Love baby gym but any of them are fine - they are invaluable entertainment for a good few months!
