hiya foghorn
how you getting on?

cyteen · 04/09/2008 22:00

Congratulations dancerandprancer!

My milk came in this afternoon and Joseph's appetite has gone crazy...he fed from left, from right, from left, from right again, and managed to give himself hiccups, throw up half a feed and work himself up into a right state in between. Sleeping peacefully now though, I should probably do the same.

TwilightSurfer · 05/09/2008 00:24

Oops, my FIL didn't go so far as yours BUT he shared with me that he announced to all of Georgia that Reese arrived. [Disclaimer: FIL holds a cushy government job; he works for the State of Georgia.] I think he did it via email with a picture attachment. Bless him, he was EXTREMELY EXCITED about Reese's arrival....as she is THE LAST GRANDCHILD. I didn't have a problem with it but had he been so rude as your FIL I would have BENT HIS EAR...AND SOCKED HIM UP SIDE THE HEAD!!

Have officially hit a wall of exhaustion...it's been 12 hours since I left the house the first time today. DH just helped me prepare 24 hours worth of bottles so at least I won't be worried over that tomorrow (or this evening). Reese has put herself on a VERY STRICT SCHEDULE of feeds every 2.5hours in the amount of 3.5 to 4oz. I used a timer today just to see this held true.....and sure enough when 2:28/2:32/2:39 rolled around she was grunting (or fussing) for her next meal. I love the consistancy but dread having to wake up tonight every 2.5 hours. Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll snooze from 10pm til 7am................{{{{oh sorry i just caught myself daydreaming}}}.

CS pains today too. Mostly on that left hip that been causing me issue for two weeks now. Lochia very minimal though so I'm wondering if I have a cyst on that left ovary AND THAT'S WHAT THE PAIN IS?!? I had a cyst rupture just days after my MC so it really could be the problem.

I actually so tired I don't know if I will be able to sleep well. Guess I'll just have to try and see.

Will post stats then off to bed.

OH by the way...as we are at 800+ posts, it might be a good idea to figure out the "next step". Should we continue with one more thread in the Ante-natal area or should be start the new thread in the Post-natal area BUT clearly make it ANTE/POST since several very active members are still in the waiting room (but only for a short while)?? Just thought I'd put that out there so someone could take the idea and run with it.

AnnVan · 05/09/2008 00:28

Hi TS - well I think you should probably move over to post-natal thread (as long as us late birds are still welcome) there are now more post than ante-natal women on the thread after all.
Seriously, where is Ataraxis? Maybe she's joined the rest of you in post-natal land?? hmm...
SPD has been crippling this afternoon.

AnnVan · 05/09/2008 06:49

Well, another night with no sleep here. No point now, as have mw appointment at 11.

ataraxis · 05/09/2008 06:57

Hi AnnVan - no such luck I'm afraid, just a busy day yesterday...
Had a lovely reflexology session and very sweet lady told me she would do a home visit with no extra charge on Sunday evening if no joy before then. TBH I am pretty relaxed about the whole thing now (think I am about to have a big fight with MWs over induction dates though, as I looking back over dates I am definitely not convinced scan date was right - also I have not heard one good induction experience . My current aim is 08/09/08, then 10/09/08, then I cry...

DS1's first day back at school yesterday - so lots of 'oh, no baby yet then?', to which I started to answer 'actually i am not pregnant at all, just put on a load of weight' .
Also realised Wed night that DS needed new PE pumps - figured there was no way they would have PE on the first day of term so it would be ok... guess what .

TS - I am fine with you moving over to a post natal club, as long as, as AnnVan says, us stragglers are still allowed to play and aren't ostracised for being far too comfortable incubators for our babes .

AnnVan · 05/09/2008 07:34

Ataraxis - I'm also trying to be chilled out about it all. I was or most of yesterday, but then when the SPD got so bad I could barely walk started feeling a bit .
Also had a little emotional moment this morning and sat sobbing on the sofa, which woke DP up pretty sharpish that was because of a whole night with no sleep and feeling so tired I feel ill (If you know what I mean) Having said this, I will also be fighting over induction dates I think, because I'm not convinced that my scan dates were right either. But my mw is a little scary. Still going to try for a couple o extra days though.

ataraxis · 05/09/2008 07:45

Sorry about the SPD - I get pains sporadically - very nasty. ((Hugs)) for the T&E. It must be rough with the lack of sleep (your body is being bad - it should be letting you sleep while you can).
Don't be scared of MW - they should be there to support and help you. Ultimately it's your body and your baby - as long as baby isn't distressed these things shouldn't be forced onto us. My sister went to 40+15 (gave birth naturally) and there were absolutely no signs of placenta degredation. As per everything else in this country it is about stats, norms and averages - and who wants to be average ?

AnnVan · 05/09/2008 08:01

Thanks Ataraxis

Not to self: 'I must stop being such a moaning minnie'

ataraxis · 05/09/2008 08:17

Nope, you are entitled to be exactly how you feel at this point. Can't possibly be too much longer... unless you have joined me in elephant gestation status

AnnVan · 05/09/2008 08:44

Hee hee, maybe we're the new generation, doing elephant gestation. In which case, we definitely have to argue with mw's about induction

cyteen · 05/09/2008 08:58

Massive (((hugs))) to those still in the waiting room, I really feel for you girls Here's hoping it won't be long soon and you'll start going off like champagne corks

Joe had his first all night feed+whingeathon last night...DP bounced him for 4 hours to get him to calm down so I could get some sleep, so I'm now on the listen out for signs of stirring. Think he's a bit disconcerted by the new food supply.

gigglegirl · 05/09/2008 09:09

morning!

hugs to all of you - especially those waiting and those not sleeping!

atraxis eeekkkk about PE pumps, DD1 went back to school on Weds and just realise I haven't sent her PE kit in at all and I haven't even bought pumps yet! I am bad mother.

Need to clean my house today... bleuch! Also having a washing crisis - will this rain ever stop! Need to buy some arers - anyone got one of those plug in heated ones???

cyteen · 05/09/2008 09:14

Morning giggle I've just put the first lot of washing on for quite a while...obviously it is pissing it down here too, so we'll be in a house of wet laundry as well. Let me know how the heated airer works out if you decide to get one!

Have put a photo of dear DS on my profile if anyone wants to see

ataraxis · 05/09/2008 09:33

giggle - that makes me feel marginally better - it was the way DS also came home and said 'mummy, you need to put my name in my jumper' that well and truly put me in my place as disorganised mother of the year. Some labels should be coming through the post by tomorrow...
and no, the rain will never stop - thinking about building an ark

cyteen - not entirely sure about the champagne corks analogy, a wee bit slower than that would probably be healthier.

cyteen · 05/09/2008 09:35

Yes, sorry - think I've just got champagne on the brain Am waiting patiently for the right time to crack my postnatal bottle that's sitting in the fridge [unfit mother emoticon]

Have a good weekend sazzles - hopefully we will have some news on your return...

gigglegirl · 05/09/2008 10:01

cyteen have the champagne - My friend deivered half bottle to me whilst in hospital which I had when I got home with Mum - nicest thing I've ever tasted!!

Have got another full bottle in fridge but not sure when to have that!

sazzles we're going away next weeekend - all six of us to my cousins 30th and DH and three kids are camping -am dreading the packing!! Have a great weekend!

dizzydixies · 05/09/2008 11:04

sazz very impressed with your ambitious travels - I hope both the girls (and dh ) are good for you

gigglegirl am so not going anywhere with mine till I hear how you got on with your brood!!!

am meant to be going through to dad's soon, he lives 100 miles away. now we're getting the second car I've no excuse really - I just don't want to as I think it will really hit home then that mum is actually gone and not that I just haven't seen her (we sometimes wouldn't see each other for a few months so this absence doesnt' feel unusual yet)

so managed another solo school run this morning but not with so much smugness - had night from hell with Dylan as she is so snuflfy she can't feed well

dh turned the farking heating on so house is like a sauna and girls slept in till 8am - que lots of rushing about and running up to the school! dd2 and I had milky ways and sausage rolls for breakfast won't kill us this once!

dylan has had a good feed and is now in her swing, am hoping sitting up and rocking will enourage her to sleep for a while - its a lovely sunny day but I'm shattered and we have a busy weekend so could do with taking it easy today

TS am in awe of your timer, I couldn't even tell you what day it is sometimes!

foggy good to see you - hope you're all doing well and Lara being a wee doll for you

annvan and atataxis* sending you positive preggy vibes for the weekend - the 6th and 7th are very good birthing dates

poppy hope its sunny with you too Tues looking like 17degrees with showers so far but fingers crossed that improves before then

cyteen what a wee pudding Joe is, he just looks as if he's been here before!

where's VG when I'm needing to be all philosophical? yesterday I had an overwhelming feeling of actually knowing Dylan I can't explain it, we were feeding and she was resting her hand on my breast and looking at me and I just looked at her and thought, yes, we're going to be just fine - as if she's always here

I sound like a right numpty and maybe the sausage roll had some weirdy additive in it but to me it made perfect sense - that and the fact I know I wouldn't be coping with mum's death if it wasn't for having her to concentrate on

right - moment over I shall love you and leave you on this lovely sunny day with the image of me dd2 - you may notice from her photo that she has wild frizzy curly hair - not so much anymore as I decide in my infinate wisdom to take to it last night with a pair of nail scissors I KNOW I KNOW - I don't KNOW what I was thinking but its done now and needless to say there won't be any more photos of dd2 posted until it's grown back

am trying to convince myself its a kind of indie inspired inverted bob with uneven ending due to curls?!?!

oh and 3 lots of friends of mine have announced they're pregnant - two of them not due till May or June

was standing at hob making tea last night and it popped into my head it wouldn't be so bad to get pregnant again and then another run of Matty leave would just be added straight on to this one

needless to say that idea was immediately dropped as the battle of tea/bath and bed commenced

now, where did I put the number for the Dr for an appointment for the mini pill

Morning All

M/w visited yesterday and weighed DD we were all expecting the nrmal weight loss but no not us she has put on weight (only 3/4oz)which made me thrilled that my milk is doing something.

Dizzy Dh said lastnight how about thinking about a little brother or sister for DD???

Annvan Hope things going okay.

Ataraxis I had a good induction experience and really wouldn't have changed it for the world.

do you know what happens if I were to go back to work pregnant? just wondering

my company pay a % of my wage for first 6mths of mat leave (% varies from week to week) and if i dont go back and work for 6mths then i have to repay the extra bit they've paid me

i guess i should ask HR but i dont want to scare them!

dizzy your girls are just so beautiful, they really are I bet DD2's hair looks well cool however it's turned out. Curly hair rocks! Hope she doesn't hold the haircut against you though, my mum cut all mine off in a moment of frustration when I was 5 and I never let her near me with the scissors again

On the subject of knowing, I've had similar times with Joe. Sometimes when he's feeding and his little hand is resting on my boob, I look at him staring into space and think "Surely you didn't take nine months to get here". He's only a week old but it feels like we've known him forever Motherhood is a trip!

Hope your time with your dad is peaceful and healing
