pmsl - no not quite but I'm sure all those fold down seats will come in handy if I ever have a day without children!

it was the only way I was going to get a new car out of dh

anyway, I can honestly say its a lot easier and less stressful after a section than a VB!!

ataraxis · 01/09/2008 22:02

ooh dizzy, sex without a bump to worry about - how fabulous !

dizzydixies · 01/09/2008 22:04

oh yes, was dead sexy worrying about my scar, leaky boobs and whether or not the Dr who examined me after the birth had infact managed to break my fanjo!!

nevermind, got it out of the way lol

Goodness, how can sex be on anyone's mind just yey. Sleep & chocolate is all the luxury I can manage. Totally wierded out that I could too easily fall pregnant again...remember it only took 17 days after I miscarried to end up with Reese. That would be 3 days from today....if I were counting.

Hazie & Bealcain, glad you've rejoined us.

CS question: I'm itchy, itchy, itchy...low belly area, is this normal? I'm guessing it's just healing...right??

Hello all,

I went to the obstetrician today for a check up. I thought that this was a perfectly reasonable moment to ask about contraception. But no. She told me that we would talk about contraception at 6 weeks. I feel kind of embarrassed really for having asked, and clearly no sex for a few weeks more ...

Maybe it lost something in translation.

Tom is lovely, and quite hard work I think sometimes. He like going in his buggy for a walk, and doesn't seem to like having his nappy changed or sleeping.

TwilightSurfer · 02/09/2008 00:10

Longway, docs just EXPECT everyone to stick by THEIR golden rule of no sex for six weeks....they don't know the ladies on this thread though. If you have unprotected sex now YOU CAN get pregnant!!

sarah how's your DH now? hope he's staying in a bit more than he was

thanks all for advice about the chairs, as i suspected, batteries are not included nor required for a bouncy chair!

sambo i use one hand for holding book and one for holding baby (whilst reading and bf). in fact at the moment, he's holding on to boob all by himself so i'm using two hands for typing! i'm probably not the best person to ask about bf and multi-tasking though, mil told me off for using him as a table... i was only resting a small plate on his side while i was eating a sandwich. i did explain it was stopping the crumbs for landing on her grandson but it didnt seem to convince her it was a good idea!

oh and i agree with you about the "have you dropped yet" thing. to add to that, i was asked today (by my uncle) "how you getting on with the sprog?" needless to say i've ignored him. i think sprog is a horrible way to describe my beautiful son

TS very jealous of all the sleep you got last night!

my hair closely resembles that of a scarecrow. mum's friend is a hairdresser and loves babies so i'm hoping to see her at some point this week

pf perservere with the wrap sling, it really does get easier to put on

as for those with windy babies, once they're a month old you can use gripe water.. we've only had one day use so far but oh my have i noticed a difference! i had a happy, alert awake baby for ages today. we were using infacol but it seemed so chemically in comparison to gripe water

hazie go with your instinct. from my experience my instinct has been more right than everyone else's opinions

albs well done you with henry's weight!

cc i had a painful boob and high temperature a couple of weeks ago. it really did help not wearing a bra for a few days. and i'm sure you are already but change your breast pads really frequently

dizzy hee hee you've done the deed! i'm not far off myself ;)

sorry and hello to everyone else i havent mentioned

miamla · 02/09/2008 02:31

sarah, sorry, missed your post on first skim read through thread. so pleased that things with DH are better

miamla · 02/09/2008 08:34

morning, does anyone feel like sticking the kettle on? i'm planning on staying in bed for a bit longer

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/09/2008 09:24

morning all.
Not much sleep here last two nights, seems my 18 month dd and baby have been secretly communicating with each other and have both decided to wake at the same time in the night.

its not unusual for dd to sometimes wake up, thirsty often has beaker of milk and settles straight down.
However marcus is waking at the same time so when dd heres him she wont go to bed, typically this is when marcus starts his mammoth/cluster feed so dd been up good coupe of hours.

dh frustrated cos dd will not go down for him, and he cant do anything with ds.

It didnt help him mentioning formula, im not against as we introduced it this time with dd, but my milk supply is better this time so want to persevere.
So sat here expressing, no idea what times i should be doing it, SAZZLES would be grateful for any advice.

sorry for rambling on.

ataraxis · 02/09/2008 09:25

Kettle on miamla - sorry it has taken a while (hopefully you went back to napping so weren't drumming your fingers too much). Also freshly brewed coffee, home made bread & pastries, jam, cheese, cold meats and some of Sazzles home made tomato chutney...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/09/2008 09:28

mmm....home made bread and pastries. oh and cheese and chutney yum

miamla · 02/09/2008 09:39

ataraxis nope not napping, planned to but T has got other plans! why is he not tired?? we've both been awake most the night!

and i'm quite with you....i wasnt hungry til i read your post!

sambo303 · 02/09/2008 09:39

Morning everyone - can i get some advice ... i think i'm in false labour...

had several contractions during the early morning, seemed fairly regular rather than just one off BHs I've had so far, but these seem to be reducing in frequency & intensity now.

then brownish tinged mucus (sorry about the details!)

but surf of the internet reveals true labour show is pink not brown and contractions need to be more regular

does all this mean i could still be weeks away from giving birth???

miamla · 02/09/2008 09:41

no1 looks like you've had a hard night too. shall we take it in turns to babysit for each other's DCs while the other one catches up on sleep?

Buckets · 02/09/2008 09:45

Mwahahahaaha Beat you Dizzy, lost my virginity again on Friday night! And I totally concur, post-CSec sex far more pleasant. So much friction, amazingly managed an orgasm but had to stop immediately after that.

Don't know when I'll get the opportunity again though as DH starts his condensed hours today, 6am alarm. So DS1 randomly woke up at 5am and tried to get into bed with him! I've been up since 4.30 with Kurt who has been sleeping for half an hour now but is making threatening grunts.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/09/2008 09:48

miamla sounds great idea

Sambo my show was brown tinged, I lost it on the wednesday thought labour was kicking off having regular contractions.
Poor sis cancelled her first night out inyears, mw said I had that look of a women about to give birth,
but then everything just slowed down and stopped.
Had more show on the friday morning only very slightly pink tinge and didnt have him while friday evening.

ataraxis · 02/09/2008 09:56

ah miamla - I was just fantasising whilst eating a piece of toast and marmite. No such breakfast feast for me either. But maybe we will have to get Sazzles to send round parcels of chutney for each of us and arrange a virtual breakfast date with real food!

Buckets - I am soooo impressed.

sambo - hope things are moving properly for you.

MW for me this pm - let's see what she has to say...

miamla · 02/09/2008 10:01

i love the idea of a virtual breakfast date with real food!
