sorry I'm posting a bit late, Baby girl born on Tuesday 26th Aug at 9.30pm weighing 6lbs 8oz. I was going to have a c/section but changed my mind at the last minuite thanks to all your help and advice, best thing i did. I was induced (gel) didn't really work they gave me another dose few hours later and broke my waters that did the job. I had a brilliant consult called Mr E Horner, really really nice man very understanding, caring and seemed to know how i was feeling (which is unsual for a man ).

Hope everyone is doing well, i'm just trying to get used to the sleepless nights again.

goodluck to all those still waiting, and i hope labour starts soon.

lol at all the drinking that went on last night. I had a small glass of 36 year old Calvados (same age as me obv) that my mum bought for me in France (she said it was about a $ a drop - so typical of my mum to buy something ridiculous like that)

Thanks to all for advice on slings, still cant decide.
Annvan does it look like you will be able to feed on the move in that wrap.

A couple of the holds will be able to bf in according to the instructions. They do suggest getting nursing tops so that you don't have to untuck and tuck your top every time you want to feed.

I couldn't decide easily either, so just jumped in and got this one. It should be good though I think. Haven't tried it yet, as I am eeling slightly intimidated by the length of cloth - will wait till I'm home alone so I can give it a try without someone there to laugh at me!

Congrats new babymamas!

I just ordered a chocolate brown Moby wrap (succumb to peer pressure? moi?) but now think I may be bored of the colour very quickly. Any Moby fans fancy a slingswap one day when we've all had our babies?

might do Buckets I'll admit I'm a little nervous about the sling now. just ried the tie on and made a total mess of it. Everything kept sliding about. I suppose my enormous bump doesn't help really though does it?
I'm sure I'll get the hang, once I'm used to handling the vast length of cloth. And once my body feels a little more normal! If this baby ever decides to shift itself .

Buckets I got the moss green one and thought the same thing.....i'll get bored of the color. The dealer in my area is just two miles away so I might be ordering a second soon.

Ann I couldn't get it right with my bump in the way but did tie it on and walked around with one of DD1's baby dolls. Talk about funny looking. I also find it easier to manage if I don't attempt to be "neat" when wrapping up. I just think of it as a rope, criss-cross it on, then with baby in hand..slide her in and straighten at the same time. It never looks as beautifully wrapped as the ad photo but feels perfect nonetheless.

TS - I've also got the moss green one, and yes, as soon as I unpacked it I thought the same!

I just watched the video, and I think that is more helpful than the pictures in the booklet. You're right about how everything looks so neat and perfect in the book!

I'll practice again when MIL brings a toy round so I have something to put in it!
Think by tomorrow I'll be doing star jumps etc to try and jiggle baby out.
