Poor, poor you Sarah. So hope DH has some sympathetic moments soon so that you and Tess can get better.

Hope Reese gets better soon too TS.

We're living somewhere slightly random too and I don't feel totally at home. We ended up here as DH doesn't have roots with parents overseas and neither do I, having moved around a lot as a forces child. We sort of ended up here after meeting here at uni and then me getting a great job offer back here and thinking it would be a nice place to be. I do love it and it is a great place to bring up DCs, but it is a long way from most of my family and old friends who are all dotted around the south. Also rather trapped now as couldn't afford to move south and keep the same quality of life. Not sure I'll ever feel totally at home - accent doesn't help - but having two DCs born here helps to root me here. DH, being a bloke, doesn't seem bothered at all and anywhere he lays his hat...

Not sure whether to share this, but as I'm sure I'll get paid back anyway I will. DD2 slept 9.30-6 last night! If it's any consolation though, I was awake from 3 worrying, checking her and then expecting her to wake any minute. Typical!

I said baby hadslowed down, now it's making a liar of me. Lots of VERY uncomfortable pokage going on at the moment!!

sambo303 · 27/08/2008 15:45

AnnVan - that has happened to me so many times, but thank goodness anyway!

PetitFilou1 · 27/08/2008 15:52

annvan a sweep is where the midwife puts her hand up and gets rid of the membranes (in shorthand) - which is supposed to stimulate things to get going. Most people seem to find it pretty uncomfortable/painful but it does work to get labour started - although I don't know the percentage of cases. I'm now booked in for one on Sunday at home if nothing has happened before then. My worry is that will then lead on to being induced in hospital (if it doesn't work)rather than the homebirth I wanted - so fingers crossed I don't get to that point (and the same for you!)

cyteen Hope you are feeling ok too and hello to everyone else

Sorry for short message but I'm off for a lie down (I hope)

CaptainCaveman · 27/08/2008 16:24

sibh poor you that must have been scary! Thank the lord you were holding her at the time.

sarah am Praying you soon feel more like your old self and the antibiotics do the trick for you.

Drum roll if you please.....Oliver has gained seventeen and a half pounds in 6 days!. Fat little trougher. I must be producing Gold Top . Thats what you get for waking up 4 times a night to be fed!

Ho hum, spot the deliberate error - of course, I meant oz and not pounds!! Because I'd be in the guiness book of records otherwise .
(really must read things through before posting them!)

cyteen · 27/08/2008 16:48

lol CC Still, excellent work from young Oliver there, and from you and your premium product of course.

VintageGardenia · 27/08/2008 17:20

LOL at Oliver now weighing two stone .

AnnVan · 27/08/2008 19:29

Ooops I accidentally fell asleep on the sofa. only got woken up by DP arriving home.

AnnVan · 27/08/2008 19:31

CC good to hear that Oliver is doing well!

ChaCha · 27/08/2008 19:38

helllooooos
in awe at you all being able to keep posting - i miss mn time. congratulations to the latest aug ladies hurray!

poppy - pics are just gorgeous!!!
cc - 17oz is fab!! DS put on 10oz in that time and i was over the moon after slow start and static weight, makes the cluster feeds and 'stuck on sofa' times more bearable.
albs - was wondering how you are now and what you decided to do...hope all is ok.

Wish i had time to post to everyone but hoping all is well. oh and sarah hope your lo is over cold asap. will see how u doing later.

I been with the 3 of them alone as DH is self employed and no paternity leave and it is okay, somehow, i dont know how, you just manage. actually wanted to throw a party the afternoon i got them all up to bed for a nap with me and baby asleep with them too...then there was a couple of scream out loud days too....must dash love to all xxx

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/08/2008 20:09

Hi wasnt going to post today as feeling very tearful and didnt want to bore anyone.
Feel like I woke up wrong side of bed.
Felt so angry inside, nearly broke down at least 5 times today but tears just wont seem to flow. I know I will feel better if they do.

Havnt left the house for 9 days including 3 days before baby because of false starts I didnt dare go out.
Feel like I have cabin fever.
May try a little walk tomorow if I feel up to it, was convinced I may be getting a womb infection again like last time but Mw said its just all the after pains and general labour.

DH is off for a month but I dont think I can cope, he doesnt do stress but seems to be at the moment, doesnt seem to have much patience with dd everything seems to be negative responses.
All I seem to here is no dont do that, no put that down etc...
I am trying so hard to keep thinks as normal as possible.

Good job he makes up for it by being a domestic goddess.

Sorry for all me me me post yet again
Thinking of you all.

TwilightSurfer · 27/08/2008 20:56

No1 you are not alone. I am having moments like yours mixed with a few nice times sprinkled here and there...especially where DD1 is concerned. Cabin fever too. I have been "out" once but just for a couple of hours and most of that was at the pediatrician's...the rest was just an uncomfortable attempt at normalcy. You did good to come on here and vent. That's the purpose of our thread. We are here for each other 24/7. Your idea of a walk is a good one. I managed to toss one of those (although short) into my day today. I also swept (very carefully) my living room floor. Sounds tiny but made me feel MAJORILY GOOD. All of this will pass for you in a very quick amount of time. Took 10 crazy months to get here and it will take at least 3 months for the dust to settle. {{{{ HUGS }}}}

Hi All

Haven't posted for ages, the day seems to just disapear. Lexie is still being good, feeding and sleeping well but I am still crossing my fingers hoping it will last.

no1putsbabyinthecorner The tears are perfectly normal, I have been crying everyday but am not sure why. I hope somebody will be along shortly to say something a bit more helpful, but in the meantime

I will try to post more form now on, but thinking of you all

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 21:45

did someone mention tears?!?! {{sobs and wails}}

am right there with you and feeling a bit pathetic as its all over the thought of dh going back to work next week - I've had him with me so long I can't dave the thought of him going back - listening to me whinge on when chacha is already dealing with her 3 on her own

hi shazza glad to hear your Lexie is doing well - mine has decided to toilet train herself, as if I don't have enough going on bless her - this just means whipping off her breeks and shouting 'toilet' whenever she feels like it

Dylan has done nothing but feed again all afternoon and evening, dh only just managed to get her over - she's a bit stingy with her burps and he seems to have the knack for it - when is the first growth spurt? someone tell me its about now and not my pathetic supply of milk

no1 take one day at a time and when its at its worst please keep saying 'this too will pass' in the meantine we're here if you need us

sazz great news about Emma - well done you

right so am online begging pleading and borrowing a loan for a 2nd car - I hate borrowing money, esp at the moment when the rates are SOOOOO shit - its crap being skint

can someone please tell me when its a proper smile and no longer a burp - I know after 3 babies I should know this lol!

alittlebitshy · 27/08/2008 22:00

Sorry I haven;t posted. I;ve been reading though .
Was feeling a little inadequate and bit of a failure
Decided to introduce a bottle at bedtime and for the night feed (s). Where possible this is expressed, but it may be alternate nights of formula. Last night was a formula night - but boy did he sleep....
Stil got sore nips - mainly the one ouch one, but the other one has developed a blister. ARGH!!! Not too sore at the moment though. Knowing my boobes get the time off at night (although I am expressing) has made me a lot more chilled and calmer and happier and less stressed about the day feeds and cluster feeds in the eve, but I am worried that I've let Henry and everyone down by giving formula

cyteen · 27/08/2008 22:03

Noooo albs, don't talk that way - you are Henry's mum and you love him, how could you possibly have let him down? You're breastfeeding him and want it to be as happy as time as possible for both of you; giving him formula isn't like giving him poison or booze. You're feeding him, that's all that matters.

I'm a firm believer in doing what is right for you and your baby - clearly you are doing this, therefore you are made of win

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 22:04

right ALBS thats it, if I had the energy I'd come and kick you up the arse

you are doing a wonderful job with Henry - you have tried and tried and put yourself through the mill with the feeding

he is thriving, you are sore - enough said

formula will do him NO harm and if it makes you happier, Henry full as a wee pug and sleepy and you have time to heal and start enjoying your darling boy then DO IT and do it without our blessing as it is not required

AND I QUOTE

'made me a lot more chillled and calmer and happier and less stressed'

please re read and carry on

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 22:06

here here, well said cyteen

much nicer put than my ranting on

ataraxis · 27/08/2008 22:09

dizzy, no1 and albs - hugs to you all.

dizzy - fantastic timing for the self imposed potty training - is she actually going when she says she needs to? If so - long may that continue . DS2 keeps telling me he doesn't want nappies at night. I am not even going there at the moment!

albs - you are not a failure for giving formula once in a while and you haven't let Henry or anyone else down. You are still giving breastmilk and, as you say, are much happier than before - Henry will pick up on that without a doubt. I don't know what else to say except please try not to beat yourself up over it.

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 22:15

ataraxis I have no idea to be honest am letting dh and the nursery to deal with it at the moment - it started up last week with her wanting to copy dd1 by sitting on the toilet and its just gone from there

dd1 (aged 5) is still in pull up pants at nights - she sleeps sooooo soundly and I refuse point blank to wake her and lift her so we'll wait till things settle down then give it a whirl - one thing at a time in this house!

dd1 is LOVING school btw - thank you for asking - photos on profile
