thats the chair im getting heartmum
glad your scan went well, i think they day 1/2 lb for every week during the last 6weeks?? somebody please correct me if that is nonsense!!

obs i know i would love an eternity ring and a platinum one to match engagement, wedding ring but think that might be stretching the budget a little too far in november!

dozy love love love those boots........

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2008 20:06

wow heartmum, your scans pics are fantastic.

did you realise that your profile says you have a "child of less than one month old". When did that happen? and why didn't you tell us, you new bessie mates?

have you put the EDD in wrong or something?

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2008 20:11

I have been hinting at DH for a diamond solitaire for as long as we have been married. My "engagement" ring, was originally a commitment ring, then we split up. When we got back together and decided to get married we just recycled the old ring, which is two teeny little diamonds and a not much bigger sapphire. Sadly, he isn't even remotely interested in spending that amount of money on a ring, and I know it shouldn't bother me, but it seems like the more I talk about it,the more he is determined not to do anything about it and the more wound up I get. One day he will surprise me but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

misdee, hope DD is on the mend very soon and that there isn't any lasting damage. Poor little lamb

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/09/2008 20:36

Hi Lacks- thanks for the link- I remember that one very well, very funny.
I just put a bit of butter on it then open their mouths and put it in, and rub under their jaw til they swallow. No word from the vet- will have to ring tomorrow.

I don't have a engagement ring, or an eternity ring. I have a pretty chunky rose gold wedding ring and that will do me.

I am soo excited- have just found out that one of my loveliest mummy friends is expecting again, I am over the moon for her!

MerryMarigold · 02/09/2008 20:50

Haven't caught up on all thread, it's been a chatty day...

Just to say, I went spending today:

  • contact lenses (was a complete addict, not worn since Nov when got nice glasses), but wanted for the birth as (and here is some advice for any short sighted people), I wore glasses during labour but they were too annoying so didn't wear them and then just felt weird and totally 'out of it' as I am quite blind without. This time, lenses all the way as soon as I get to 4cms or definitely during a c-section!
  • shoes. I went to a really cheap shoe shop and got pretend uggs and some slip on chunky shoes in a size bigger than I usually wear - BOTH for 24 quid!!!! I'll only be wearing them for a couple of months, but no doubt most of the time for the next couple of months .

ChocO - great nursery and glad husky voice is working well on dh .

Obs - I know what you mean about being nervous about secret stork person, me too...been racking my brains all day.

Dozy - I am in love with your nursing chair and haven't even seen it!

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 20:51

Heartmum Fab scan pics - and also love your 31 week bump shot!!
On subject of presents from DH for giving birth, I am expecting hoping for some diamond stud earrings as my baby present...have hinted for years that these would make a most admirable and appropriate gift - am hoping the instruction hint has been taken!
In return, I have already given DH his baby gift of a spanking new digital camera to take loads of photos of PFB with.
Pinky - don't know if it works with cats, but when I give our small dog a pill, I put it between two bits of water biscuit/cracker with loads of butter.
Ceebee I also don't have any Ugg boots. And love heels. But whenever I get the chance these days, I put on my docksiders or my Birkenstocks - can't take the strain anymore!!

sparkletoes · 02/09/2008 20:57

I got an eternity ring for my birthday this year and am now wearing it instead of my wedding & engagement rings as it is a size bigger so still fits! Am so pleased to have a ring this pregnancy as I felt positively naked without my beautiful Tiffany diamond last time. Kept thinking I'd lost something!

DH and I had another names conversation tonight.. still not really any further forward! Why is it so difficult!!???

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:00

Sparkle the names thing is really, really hard. DH has his own list, I have my favourites, and now we've amalgamated these for a list of names we BOTH like. It's very short...

Dozymare · 02/09/2008 21:01

(whisper) shall we discuss names????

Rules of engagement need to be agreed

How about these for starters:

The word CHAVVY cannot be mentioned
NO bitchy remarks (ie that is a DOG's name!)

Anything else???

Dozymare · 02/09/2008 21:05

oh 3 of us thought the name thing at the same time!!

Beaches · 02/09/2008 21:06

Wow, so much to catch up on in the thread!!
Evening ladies Are we talking baby presents from the darling men in our lives?? Sod the jewels, I want a dishwasher!!! dp is awful for names, so far he has suggested Lexie, Bunny, Topsy, he was not even joking!
Been busy busy today, talking of baby clothes I got some lovely stuff when I went on holiday to Ireland apart from that I love love Hennes for clothes

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:07

ooh - exciting.....yes lets

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:08

Beaches that's so funneeeeeee......my DH has suggested Topsy too!
And.....FINGERLING....for a boy.
I Sh*t you not.

cricri · 02/09/2008 21:09

Discussing names sounds good to me DH and I need a few more ideas!
It just took me nearly half an hour to catch up on today's chat
Pinkyminky Hope your cat is OK. It's worrying when they get ill but hopefully it's something easily treatable. Hoping for some good news tomorrow.
Chocorange Love the nursery! It really is gorgeous.
We've made some progress - I picked up the new curtains today and we've ordered the cot so we're getting there!
Thomasina Thanks for the stickers link! I've just ordered the elephant ones as they look lovely.
Kerri Glad you found us and welcome
Obs of your eternity ring... Have been dropping hints for something similar to DH for months so hopefully will pay off
I also got my Secret Stork email this morning so thanks to Daisy's DH for sorting that out. Now need to give some serious though to what to buy...
Hello to everybody I've missed

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:09

I must admit, I quite like Bunny.....

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/09/2008 21:10

Thanks monkey- works a treat on dogs, I know, but cats don't fall for it. As I say, dab of butter to ease it down and a firm grip on the cat. But you must SHOW NO FEAR goes down easy as pie but they hate you for it.

Heartmum- lovely scan pics!

Dozy- you first then

Dozymare · 02/09/2008 21:11

I quite like Dolly!! DH would NEVER let me get away with that one.....

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:12

I LOVE DOlly. It's in our top 5.

Beaches · 02/09/2008 21:13

Fingerling!!! NO! You must be joking about liking Bunny, sounds like a stripper I like Molly-Ann, Alana, Lily...
ddi wants to call her Rainbow-Fluffy Sunshine

MonkeyMargot · 02/09/2008 21:13

Our current fave though is Cecily for a girl or Digby for a boy

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/09/2008 21:13

What is Dolly short for? It must be a pet name for another name- is it Dorothea

Dozymare · 02/09/2008 21:13

ok if either DS had been a girl, they would have been Layla...... DH still absoultey LOVES this, but now I now I am expecting a girl, I am not so sure????????

I like Amelia (but not Milly) Scarlett, and Olivia (not LIvvy)

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/09/2008 21:14

Bunny is a bit jolly hockey sticks, no?

Dozymare · 02/09/2008 21:14

Monkey I also LOVE Cecily! and Imogen....and Isabella but shortened to Ella
