Heartmum2Jamie · 17/08/2008 02:40

Welcome Rubysmum! Expecting my 3rd boy here, ds's are 7 & 4!

I am not normally up at this time of the day but I just can not sleep tonight. Strange as that is all I wanted to do all day and now I can't sleep so am feeling quiet frustrated. I guess I am overtired but restless legs is not helping.

Chocolategirl, I looks forward to seeing the pics, I also hope you can get some answers on Monday. HUGS.

MerryMarigold · 17/08/2008 03:38

I JUST BOUGHT ORANGE MUSLIN SQUARES (FROM EBAY) AT 3:40AM.

Dozymare · 17/08/2008 07:11

Morning all - looks like the middle of the night 3rd trimester wakings are starting....i WAS ALSO AWAKE At about 3am but spent about 40mins sorting out washing into dirty and clean piles, and then folding and sorting!! Should have logged on!!!!!

chocolategal good you work at the hospital, I wouldn't let the MW fob you off until your 34 week check but wait and see what the consultant says.....I have a funny feeling that my DS dilation measured about 21mm at 30ish weeks so to still be under 10mm seems to be ok to me. also, what I didn't add last night but thought about just now, the dilation will increase I presume as he gets bigger and his kidney grows????

Rubymum your 4th girl - WOW, you and Missdee have something in common straight away as she is also on her 4th girl!! I am also expecting a girl and very excited!

Am very of sparkles and ceebee - my DS2 is only napping in the day once or twice a week tops - even if he wakes at 0600 he is still fighting it! Hence come 4pm he is absolutely shattered and grumpy but I won;t let him sleep until 0630 otherwise he doesn't go down at night until 9pm!

Lacksadasiy how are you feeling today?? Any more pain or is octopus helping??

ceebee74 · 17/08/2008 07:19

Looks like I should have logged on aswell as I was awake from about 1am for a couple of hours aswell - mine was due to bad heartburn!

However, unlike you lot doing useful things like shopping and cleaning, I watched the Olympic marathon instead

Am feeling tired now which is not a good start to the day is it?

MerryMarigold · 17/08/2008 07:50

I know what you mean, ceebee, I am tired too. Dh is getting a nice lie-in. I did attempt to wake him to look after ds, but it didn't work out. HE had a great night's sleep, but it's still me who is up. GRRRRRR.

Dozy, i thought we were supposed to be disorganised mums united!! Sorting washing in the middle of the night sounds very organised to me...

Rubysmum, wow 4 girls! I expect they'll all be really close - the newest addition will be spoiled rotten by her older sisters, bet they are so excited.

suiledonn · 17/08/2008 09:51

Love the new thread title.
Welcome Rubysmum. I am expecting my second. I have a dd who is 27 months. Don't know what we are having this time but suspect it may be a boy!

for those of you with insomnia. I am waking up a few times in the night but would never consider getting out of bed, let alone doing housework! I just pop another Gaviscon for the heartburn and just enjoy being in bed.

Heartmum2Jamie · 17/08/2008 10:05

Ugh! I am tired this morning! I decided to try and go back to bed at 3am, got cross with dh snoring at 3.30am and gave him a right kick and earful and think I may have finally fell asleep at 4am. Thankfully the boys slept in till about 9am.

LadyBuzz · 17/08/2008 10:26

Morning,
Welcome Rubysmum. I wake in the night but don't get up I'm far too lazy for that!
Daisy hows the pain today?
Chocoltegal can't wait to see your pics hope you get to speak to the consultant soon!
Ceebee hope you had a nice day yesterday and enjoyed your steak.
Sparkle I'm very glad to hear the napping has resumed

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2008 11:14

morning all and a big hello and welcome to rubysmum . we are very chatty and the threads move with super fast speed......miss a day at your peril

Still feeling pretty sore this morning, so trussed up again. Only full body stocking though as I can't sit down with the octopus on. Had a pretty restless night so am feeling very very tired this morning. DH has taken the DCs out.....DS and he are fishing and the PILs are looking after DD. this was pre-aranged so that I could go and watch DS fishing, but I'm missing it again . I'm supposes to be driving to London on Wednesday for our June 07 PN meet-up but it isn't looking hopeful. I'm going to make an appointment to see the GP or MW tomorrow. Not sure who is best to see really?

I will try that mushroom sauce, it sounds delicious.

chocolatgal, I would definately mention things to your MW and see if they can bring the consultant appointment forward. I would've thought that the private scan people would have a duty of care to inform your HCPs of their findings anyway. I know that a copy of the notes from my early scan were sent to my GP/MW.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2008 11:24

and...as a wee point of interest; i was talking to a friend yesterday who did a hypnobirthing course and had a planned homebirth with her DS2. She said the course cost £250, but was well worth it as it really worked for her. She said that she didn't really feel any pain as such, just felt like someone was tightening and then loosening a belt. After her waters broke, she walked a mile and a half into the local village (for butter for the cake she had decided she needed to bake) stopped and had a pint at the local pub, walked home again, made the cake, and didn't call the MW until after she had put the cake in the oven, at which point her contractions were every 5 minutes. MW arrived 20 mins later and she was 4cms. she went into the bath at that point and her DS was born 20 minutes later. The second MW didn't get there on time. she said she didn't push either; just breathed down through the contractions and let her body do all the work (as advised on the course) and apparently her DS just slipped out and she had one stitch. Her MW was amazed apparently as she hadn't witnessed a birth like it. Makes me wish i had a spare £250 really!

suiledonn · 17/08/2008 11:25

Lackadaisycal sorry to hear you are still feeling sore and missing out on ds's fishing. Hopefully it will heal quickly and you can get to your meet up.

I think there was some talk a while back about measuring fundal height (not sure if that is what I mean) Does anyone know where to measure from and to? My bump is huge now. Way bigger than on dd. My MIL is convinced I am having twins despite the evidence of my two scans!

Bettispaghetti · 17/08/2008 11:34

Hi everyone

Feeling really down today. I feel so energy-less. It's a struggle to get dressed and walk up the stairs and I hate feeling like this. Anyone else feel the same? Plus I feel guilty at not being able/feeling like running around with my 2 dcs. This is about the 4th day I have felt like this and it's really getting me down.

Sorry for the 'me, me, me' post but know you girls can make me feel better.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2008 11:39

suieldon, you measure from the crown of your pubic bone to the top of your bump. If you have a prod around you will definately feel the top of your uterus. Mine is just below the bottom of my breast bone at the minute and I'm 28 (not 29 grr) weeks.

betti, sorry you are feeling a bit low. I think the weather isn't doing much to bolster anyone's moods really. I hope this cheers you up

xxrubysmum08xx · 17/08/2008 11:45

Is anyone eles just feelin zapped ....all of a sudden its too much effort to left my legs into my joggers!!!(joggers are soooo comfy atm!)..

Dozymare · 17/08/2008 12:41

I am shattered as well - can't believe Heartmum's boys sleep into 9am!!!!!!!!!! How

My DH has also taken the kids out. Off for a kickabout in the park so I can chill.....I am also very blah and lazy today....just want to lounge around in my PJ's sleping and reading the Sunda papers!

Hopefully I can get away with that as DH being a SUPERSTAR at the moment....

Merry the washing I was sorting out was about 3 weeks worth if that makes you feel any better see, not that super organised!!!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 17/08/2008 15:19

Dozymare, we pay for it in the evening though when the boys might still be up between 10-11pm, in their rooms mind you, but you can hear them. As they are homeschooled, I would rather they slept later in the morning so I can too. Very selfish of me, lol!

Went to Ikea this morning. It was quite busy and I felt well ropey/dizzy by the time we made it to the self service bit. I am a little narked that they did not have the chair I wanted in stock. I want it in my bedroom so I have somewhere to sit when up & breastfeeding in the night. Ideally we want the Pello as it's cheaper and almost identical to the Poang. I did manage to get the baby's changing mat & a pack of 10 washcloth/flannels (£2.99), which I plan on cutting down and re-stictching with the sweing machine to make cloth wipes to go with my cloth nappies. Also picked up a bag of mini dime bar pieces and shockingly, don't feel as ropey as I did earlier. I guess I will deal with the heartburn fall out later, lol!

Betti, I am sorry to hear you are feeling similar to how I have been feeling recently. It is hard to believe 2 weekends ago we were camping as I know I wouldn't cope now, the lack of energy is debilitating. I am proper out of breath by the time I have climbed the stairs. Have you had your 28 week midwife appt yet? It sounds like you could be anaemic as well.

MrsMattie · 17/08/2008 15:21

Hello all. This thread always moves too fast for me to really join in, but am going to make more of an effort if you'll all have me . 25 weeks pregnant and just beginning to feel ropey. Need other women in similar circumstances to moan to!

sparkletoes · 17/08/2008 16:38

Hi all

Dozy - how old is DS 2 out of curiosity? Mine will be 2 a week on Tue. Not sure really what is going on with his naps but he is back on them for moment at least!

LadyBuzz - Me too!!

Lacks - very interesting story about your friend's hypnobirthing success! I only bought the CD (and book but didn't read it all) and I got to 10cm without a problem BUT he certainly didn't slide out that easily!! However if I had a spare £200 it would be a toss up between the hypnobirthing course and a 4D scan!! Prob best not to have more decisions really haha!

Everyone! Am feeling shattered too, DS keeps asking 'Whats the matter mummy?' as my eyes feel like they are hanging out my head! Trying so hard to keep him amused but only if it can be done from a sitting position...

Welcome MrsMattie of course you can join when are u due?
xx

MrsMattie · 17/08/2008 17:09

Due 28th Nov. Had hyperemesis for first 16 weeks, but since that passed I'd been feeling great - until last week or so, when I just feel grim nagain - not sick, but exhausted, achy, huge, can't get comfy etc etc...dreading feeling this way for another 3 months

xxrubysmum08xx · 17/08/2008 17:54

moves to fast for me too lol!! i cant move fast literally let alone in the online community

coolkat · 17/08/2008 18:13

Hi Ladies

Sorry we are all feeling a little 'low'. I am tired but thats because I keep waking in the night and not being able to get back to sleep. at DH who sleeps soundly all night.

I do keep thinking bleugh about how long left especially with my SPD. I am back at work on tuesday following the holidays and have to say I am dreading it. Don't start my maternity leave until 38 weeks gone did not realise things would change this much!!
Usually at work I run around all over the place chasing up students etc but may have to drop that role a bit!

We have had a lovely day today, took DD to see where DH is stationed and she loved looking round. The best bit was when we stopped and treated ourselves to sunday dinner at our favourite pub. Roast beef with trimmings and loads of nice veg and proper meaty gravy

Anyway sorry for the ramble,

oh just remembered has anyone else also started to get worried about the birth etc, keep having horrible thoughts must try and have PMA!
