Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AnnVan · 14/08/2008 13:03

Ellasmum - Lol. And yes, I do intend to breastfeed. Really hoping we manage with it, because I cannot be bothered with all the hassle involved in bottles. All that sterilising, boiling water, waiting for it to cool. And all that when baby is just screaming for food. No thanks.

RUMPEL · 14/08/2008 13:12

Hi All - just wanted to say congrats to BEALCAIN and other ladies previously on July thread - DIZZY think you were too. Well doen and good luck to the rest of you.

Has PAULAPLUMPBOTTOM changed her name - was looking for her too?

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 13:13

I'm getting really weird pains in my back, like fast waves o cramp in the kidney region. ALmost like pulsing feeling. Anything I should worry about do you think?

cyteen · 14/08/2008 14:04

Hmmm, they sound contractionesque to me Ann On a related note, my nips haven't got any bigger but my areolae are like saucers

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 14:11

LOL Cyteen mine are too and thats exactly how I described them too

AnnVan yes they do sound like something, alot of people start in there back I did too.

It is strange thinking of babies in nursery as we are encouraged to keep them with us at all times.
When I had dd she had an alarmed secutity tag around her ankle.
I had no idea this was there, as it was underneath her baby gro, so when I was changing her I didnt realize it had fallen off and on to the floor.
Mw came round and told me off, said I must keep it on all the time until I am discharged.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 14:18

PF what kind of thermometer do you have for your water pool?

Wow SazzlesA going out already that is truly amazing.
Congratulations by the way.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 15:46

Uh! they can't be contractions, DPs birthday is on Monday. I'm under strict instructions to keep my legs crossed unitl the week after! Bad bumpy!
Although It's quite possible I could do a TS. The pains aren't that frequent, but started yesterday afternoon

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 15:48

No1 - medway hospital does that as well, there's a security line, that no one can take a baby over without an alarm going off. They pointed it out when I did the tour.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 16:04

Gaah - AnnVan's amazing touch of death!!!
The thread is doomed! Doomed I tell you!

I should be cooking right now

annvan definitely sounds like first mild contractions to me - you've obviously been getting vibes from cyteen! If you keep getting them just now and then it may be your cervix dilating slowly - you may get to 2cm without even realising - or on the other hand it may kick off big style!

sazzles I'd like to know what the winner of the pf/cyteen race gets?? In any case my money is on cyteen since I've had no sign of anything happening so far. I am in TS 'jinxed as I am so ready' mode!

no1 I'm not having a pool - going to go with the bath if necessary (and I'm afraid I hadn't even thought about a thermometer as no plans to give birth in the pool - would just be for pain relief) I assume mw has such a thing if need be. Our bath is quite wide as a jacuzzi (that doesn't work) so I've not bothered thinking about anything else.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 16:26

Sazzles Lololol. hehe. When you put it like that Maybe I'm just odd.

Dinner tonight is duck breast fillets with mashed potato and red wine reduction sauce. I should be making the sauce as it takes for bloody ever to cook. It's worth it though, is sooo good.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 16:28

Annvan pleeeaassse dont leave me at the bottom of the list on my own
I am usually all for it will come when its ready but I am getting so fed up.
Mainly because mw say looks/feels like another good size
2 more weeks of growing

SazzlesA 100 yards is good enough for me
I didint get out for ages what with stitches and then womb infection etc....

Frustrating because all you want to do is go out and show off to the world your little bundle. Or I did anyway.

Never fear No1 - I suspect I will be waiting with you for a while longer. As I said earlier, baby is absolutely NOT ALLOWED to arrive until at 1 week after it's daddy's birthday. Naturally baby is going to be very understanding of this and come on the 25th (Ican hope anyway) Accompanied by doves and harps as well obviously.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 16:39

PMSL at Sazzles! If that's the case, I won't need the doves and harps then.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 16:42

Lol Annvanl I would like baby to stay put until the 23rd as I said before my conservatory blinds are not being fitted till then.
Also still waiting for flooring to go down, so the house is constantly filthy due to dust from the concrete and it is driving me mad.

PetitFilou1 · 14/08/2008 16:44

annvan enjoy dinner - it will be a while before you have time to make wine reduction sauce again! Thai red curry for us this evening.

sazzles lol - glad your money is on me but I think you might lose Voltarol is great stuff isn't it

no1 I had a womb infection - was in convulsions with the pain (when I had ds) - no-one mentioned to me beforehand that it was even possible to get one...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 16:53

PF did they tell you what caused it. I was fine for first few days of mw visits apart from stitches etc...

But then all of a sudden I got these pains, was on all fours in agony. Never ever have I felt pain like it. was on landing one time and couldnt even make a sound to shout dh.
Was very bizzare.

Di you see my question earlier regarding thermometer for birth pool.
Just wondered what you got as I cant find one.

PetitFilou1 · 14/08/2008 17:02

no1 Yes I did see qu - I answered it earlier (thread moving too quickly!) I haven't got one (and not having a pool - just using the bath) You could use a baby bath thermometer though if you felt the need. I'm sure Mothercare do them.

I never found out what caused the womb infection but dh suspects it was a bit of retained product (ie bit of placenta or something) I went in for a scan to check and nothing there but it was picked up so late that that wasn't that surprising. It seriously affected the way I bonded with ds. At one point I was screaming in pain and ds was screaming for a feed - I told dh to get him away from me . The one time dh has looked lost as to what to do.... Having had dd I now know what you are supposed to feel like after giving birth (fortunately!)

FoghornLeghorn · 14/08/2008 17:09

Just checking in ..... still here ....... no baby !
Contractions have been so irratic it's unreal - have had nothing now for hours.
Called hospital at lunch who said to wait until 6 then call again and they'll want me to go in. Midwife said with this being my 3rd she would've expected contractions to get into a regular pattern after 12 hours of waters breaking. Looks like I might be induced

bealcain · 14/08/2008 17:10

hi ladies,

sorry for no contact for days.....3 is actually quite hard work! i'm dreading Dh going back to work on monday, o well at least if i get to monday evening and we're all alive i'll have acheived something.

i'm shattered today, still in my pj's! we went to lakeside yesterday huge mistake, it was fine except i couldn't sleep or relax anywhere.

breastfeeding going really well, seeing the m/w tomorrow, hopefully they'll weigh Lilah.

Anyways enough about me, sending major labour vibes to those still waiting

ts this is for Reese 'get your cute little self out into the world now, mummy has been waiting patiently but really enough is enough now girly'

annvan fingers crossed it's something

sazzles and sarah glad you're home
