It may be a bit of reflux. However, if he is putting on weight, seems happy most of the time, doesn't mind being put flat on his back, it is probably nothing to worry about. You get used to being sicked on! It certainly shouldn't be scaring you.

if he's sick in bed he won;t choke will he? {you'd never think i had had a baby already would you?)

ALBS - DS used to have sicky burps etc. quite abit in the early days, then would feed again. Think it's just wind bringing up some of the milk. Then, like when you have a burp and feel like eating more , they feel like some more x

albs How much is he being sick? Does it look like his whole feed? It probably just looks like a lot more than it actually is. I think it is pretty unlikely he would choke on vomit that is just milk (unless you've already started him on chocolate cake or something )

it's mostly not that much -last time it felt more than it had been but prob wasn't that much...

ok, as we're not on choc cake hopefully he'll be ok.

Btw ds1 did have reflux and was never sick in bed (occasionally dribbled a bit out of the side of his mouth) but not sick sick

not until he started getting actual illnesses anyway

and he's still here

ALBS DD1 use to do that in the early early days....I figured it was just a bit of over feeding and backed off things a bit. It didn't last long but I thought the very same thing about the chocking so I kept her upright for a little while after feedings. I think they get so into the sucking thing they forget the purpose is food intake not suck-play.

henry is asleep.

dh is in bed (he had insomnia as well as normal wake ups last night) and I'm hoping henry wakes soon so i can commence the feeding and then go to bed myself...... Don't want to go up and then have henry wake up immed cos I want dh to have some sleep - to stave off grumpiness.

It's even harder to keep up with this thread now! But I'm really glad of it. My little Marianne is feeding almost constantly like someone else mentioned, making up for lost time I think as she was very reluctant in hospital. Thank goodness we came home when we did - since then she has got the hang of things much better. Does mean I've had very little sleep though! On the other hand I'm healing nicely (I think my stitcher-upper must also have been a perfectionist!) and have had only helpful visitors so far - I don't suppose this cheerful mood can last but meanwhile {{{loved-up vibes}}} to you all.

Albs, if you're worried about choking try putting a folded blanket under his mattress to keep his head end more elevated.

I was feeling awful this morning, lots of bum pain still, only 3-4hrs sleep and very emotional, have spent whole day in bedroom with Kurt. On the plus side, having found no joy in ice packs or valley cushions, have discovered a half-filled hotwater bottle makes sitting more bearable, yay.

I also realised the other day I'd been totally overdosing on paracetamol as everyone said take it every 3-4hrs but the packet actually said don't take more than 8 pills in a day. I'd been on about 16!

buckets i was doing the same with paracet. Was taking for c-section then also for earache. Am off it now - so hopefully neither i or henry are overdosed now.

did you sleep while holed up in bedroom or just feed and pfaff???

not getting up til midday helped me feel better today

buckets am sorry you're so sore and I know I shouldn't but pmsl @ the paracetamol - its an easy mistake to make and I've done it myself too

am not going to harp on about it but are you taking arnica too? am popping mine like sweeties and I'm sure its helping this time

albs you've never guessed I'd had 2 babies the amount am doubting myself - just keep asking - am sure its nature's way of making sure we're all looking after them properly - by putting self doubt into the mix and making sure we keep asking

Find it strange that reflex made me feel sick, but now wandering if I'm quite sensitive. When I got sick during my massage, it was while the lady was massaging my feet! Was thinking of having a pedicure, but now thinking if foot rubbing makes me sick, it might not be such a good idea?

Honestly have no time to myself these days. Am having a few problems with DS3's latch at the moment and so consequently midwives in and out helping and b/f clinic etc.. DS1 has been a little unwell and it's just all hands on deck here.

thank you ann have just spoken to him on the phone and he is much happier having been seen and we've agreed he's going to take it easier and not be so hard on himself - I think he's been trying to fill every waking minute so he doesn't have to deal with the huge gap she's left behind

anyway, he's going to come up and see dd1 at the school one day next week so that will be nice

DD2 feeding constantly at the moment, but hoping that means she's tanked up for a good night of sleep now.... God bless the Olympics though for getting me through the small hours. DD1 was at this stage during the commonwealth games many timezones away too and once again I have suddenly found myself intensely interested in random sports. Badminton and canoeing anyone?
