OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ataraxis · 14/08/2008 17:11

fhlh, my MW said to be aware that with no 3 it is quite common for things to stop and start, stop and start before real labour is established (I have just been putting the comment out of my mind).

Welcome home sazzles no1 and annvan - DON'T YOU DARE!!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 17:13

you poor thing, must have been awful.
I never really knew what it was either.

Sorry I missed your response.
Will keep looking. Tried mothercare no luck.
Seen one in boots but dont really want to spend £30 on one.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 17:16

LOL Ataraxis

Hope your doing ok Bealcain
I am in awe of you ladies still posting on here with newborns and those with other dc.
I am constantly now worrying how I will cope with newborn and 18 month dd.never mind anything else.

ChaCha · 14/08/2008 17:17

Did anyone start a p/n thread yet?!?
DD - Thanks for that though am fortunate enough not to have any pain. Baby's latch hadn't been great so he'd been getting plenty of milk but none of the good stuff that would be giving him weight gain so after 3 hours at b/f clinic today (fantastic place) have come away feeling very confident and we've had a good few latches. Was really struggling with the wide gape and remembering baby to breast not breast to baby...anway enought of my b/f chatter.

Sazzles - IL comment on card - a classic! I had this comment on Day 2 'So, have you decided what you're going to do about contraception yet?' and on b/f DS and discussing some anxieties with DH 'you can't let him starve you know' ... LOL.
Well done on walk, took DS1 to splash in puddles the other night at 9pm - was lovely, we bought treats at the local shop and shared them on way home. I was assigned role as one of his trains and so we 'chugged' along the pavement and he seemed to enjoy the 1-1. Other than that have been stuck at home percevering with b/f and i have serious cabin fever. Hopefully another couple of days/end of weekend will see consistency in good latch and then i can relax and live a little!!

Sorry have ended up post natal waffling. I want a p/f thread purleeeease!!!!

Fingers still crossed for you all xxx

PetitFilou1 · 14/08/2008 17:17

ataraxis I've had two mws say 3rd births can be a bit of a wild card - either really fast or long latent stage beforehand and then it gets going

fhlh good luck if you need to be induced

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 17:19

Oh Ataraxis didnt you see? Our LOs totally understand that they're not allowed to arrive yet. I wouldn't leave you on your own!

Really will go start cooking now. Boy I'm so good at procrastinating.

ChaCha · 14/08/2008 17:19

no1 - it will be just fine
DS2 is 18mths old, they are all doing well together with the odd 'put baby down now mummy' or DS2's 'baby off/down there' for attention.

PetitFilou1 · 14/08/2008 17:22

chacha No, no PN thread. This is it for both atm. TS doesn't want to take on secretarial duties for two threads and said she wasn't sure she was going to run the thread once Reese was born. I don't blame her - think she's done a brilliant job so far

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 17:40

Thanks for that Chacha.
I have been giving cuddles to friends babies at mother and toddler but my dd just glares at me.
Should get my 13yr old niece to move in as I dont get a look in when dd sees her. she even calls her mummy.

What you cooking Annvan
I am sat here eating lovely mince and veg stew. while waiting for my apple, sultana and cinamon crumble.
Just deciding on custard or ice cream

bealcain · 14/08/2008 17:43

my mw who was inducing me, said that thrids are notoriously micheivous. this one ended up just like my first which is apparently quite common, although is was just like my second quickness wise once i got to 5cm again. with ds2 is was 15mins from 5cm to birth and with dd is was 45mins so maybe my cervix really does know what it's doing.

ataraxis · 14/08/2008 17:50

bealcain hi . Oh joy at mischevious no3's before they are even in the world... I am hoping for option a on PFs list (2 hours start to finish will do me fine).

thanks annvan and no1 - here's to obedient babies!

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 17:54

no1 -mmm to crumble. mmm. Custard, definitely custard. or cream. not ice cream though. custard. Ooh. Making me drool you naughty woman!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 17:58

Sorry to say I went for chocolate ice cream. although not a huge fan of ice cream. I realized if I went for custard I would have eaten it all cold before it reached the crumble So though just a small scoop of ice cream was best option.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 18:03

Oh - I'm making wine reduction sauce to go with our lovely duck fillets tonight no1

DP just called, he is only just leaving work so he won't be back until after 8

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 18:12

OOH that sounds lovely mmmm... I never done anything like that.

I will suffer later after the crumble and be in need of rennies/tums had loads already today.

cyteen · 14/08/2008 18:16

Think my money's on pf in a two-womb race, if only for the image of her sipping champagne in a jacuzzi while she serenely gives birth Meanwhile I've had nowt apart from those lovely 'scratching at the exit' sensations today...

Has anyone here developed an allergic reaction to pineapple? Sounds bizarre, but I think I read somewhere that it can happen. I've never had one before but I ate some this morning and my tongue and palate are still sore and a bit tenderised.

cyteen · 14/08/2008 18:17

Never had an allergic reaction, that is. Obviously I've had pineapple before.

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 18:18

In this race - I bet oonnnn...Ataraxis!

I'll get good odds on that wont I?

PetitFilou1 · 14/08/2008 18:25

cyteen I can assure you I am NOT serene while giving birth (nearly broke dh's fingers, threw up and told him to f off at various points first time round. second time round shouted help me a lot when was having contractions with NO break between them ) Obviously I'm lying of course and there were harps and doves.

Shazza2002 · 14/08/2008 18:27

Just a quick post from me

Lexie May arrived safe and well yesterday at a whopping 9lb 9oz.

Had first lot of gel at 11am yesterday, by 11:30am contractions every 3 minutes with midwives just asking if I was having some period cramps . Waters broke at 13:30pm, Lexie born at 16:21pm. So just under 5 hours. Just a small tear that should heal with no stitches

Congratulations on all the new arrivals, and good luck to those still waiting xx

Will post as soon as I feel 'normal' again

cyteen · 14/08/2008 18:37

Congratulations Shazza, and welcome to the world Lexie May

AnnVan · 14/08/2008 18:44

Congratulations Shazza!

Had to dash waddle very quickly out to shops to buy wine - DP had drunk the wine we bought for making the sauce! Had to get a quite nice one (smells lovely) and it felt criminal tipping it into a pan to cook with

oopsacoconut · 14/08/2008 18:45

SHAZZA congratulations and welcome to Lexie May - another good sized girl.

Cyteen the same enzyme which can help soften cervix also works in your mouth - many people who eat loads of pineapple in large amount (like me a whole pineapple a sitting) can give themselves a sensitivity which does wear off after a few days and then can eat pineapple again. It must be a body protection reaction.

Still trying to catch up with everyone else.

Had NCT ladies lunch today only 2 of us still waiting one girl turned up having given birth on MOnday .

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/08/2008 18:48

Congratulations Shazza2002

dizzydixies · 14/08/2008 18:56
