AnnVan · 22/08/2008 18:32

congrats to LOW!!

miamla · 22/08/2008 18:33

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 18:33

Congratulations LoW
I managed to read your post eventually! Sounds like a bit of a drama but things turned out ok in the end.

Goodness, Dizzy I like your name selection for LOW. I told DH the birth story and he just gave me this HUGE LOOK, then he was like 10 POUNDS!

Sazzles, Reese has been waking up for DEMAND feeds almost every hour. She sucks back 2 to 3 ounces in about 15 minutes time then crashes back out. She gave us her longest WIDE EYED moment today which was really cool. It was after FIL arrived to pick up MIL. FIL is a DREAM with kids....loves them, wants to play and talk to them. She woke just as he walked in the door. He asked to hold her and chatted away with her for a long time. She just watched him the whole time like he was telling her the most interesting things she'd ever heard.

So MIL left....funny story....
FIL arrived and I think she wanted to get in the car that minute but DH had just popped out to get our lunch so she waited for him to return. She ate then said let's go, I'm exhausted. FIL wanted to visit and sorta got his way as DD1 wanted to show off her new driving skills in the Barbie Jeep. It didn't last long...she was up, putting her bags in the car, said her good-byes, then got in the car and waited on FIL. He's a chatter and really couldn't pull himself away from Reese. After a minute, MIL pokes her head out the car window and yells, "come on I'm burning up in here." I wanted to laugh but I have stitches you know. Goodness!! I guess that's the last we'll see of her for a while.

Ahhh TS you never thought that having an actual baby was the way to get rid of her, did you?

sazz am delighted to hear you've had a better day I always feel I can cope if there is one decent day thrown in amongst the harder ones

thank you for name approval too we both like Mae but dd2's mn is Rae so was too 'samey' and mammy dixie was Mary Isabella so we turned it round and mixed it up to get Ismay - won't mean much to anyone else but it does to me

TS pmsl @ MIL - at least she came I suppose!!

poppysocks · 22/08/2008 22:19

Dizzy - I think Ismay is lovely in its own right and even lovelier with that connection. Glad you got to the registrar in the end too. Have barely made it into the centre of town due to combo of no driving and not being able to walk that far and back again quite yet. Having said that, did make it to the White Stuff sale the other day .

Congratulations LoW. What an experience! Just so pleased it all turned out so well and you have a lovely DS2.

Pleased to hear all's looking up Sazzles. Amazed at your determination re: bf. You too ALBS. Hats off!

After a fantastic night last night (6 hrs, half hour feed, 4 hrs), DD2 has slept most of the day so I fully expect her to be up most of the night. When she's been awake though she's been so much calmer - wondering if it's the effect of infacol - and it's been lovely to see her looking around, taking in the world.

Finally, feeling rather chuffed as after DD2 was sick all over me, I was left with no clothes to change into so was forced into real clothes. Size 10s fit fine! Typically though my Mum had to point out that 'well, M&S 10s are pretty large'. Grrr.

dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 22:23

at your size 10 poppy I tried on my 18 trousers the other day and all I managed to do was irritate my wound

forgot to tell you all about dd1's eventful first week at school

Tues - 1st day - sent by wench of a mother in red checked summer dress and rain coat
Wed - strike so no school
Thurs - came home with 1st lot of homework
Fri - parents late to collect from school have badly damaged leg due to nasty fall in playground and dd2 has ripped up this evenings homework so had hysterics over that

do you get the feeling we'll be the parents being spoken about in the staff room

poppy hoping you have another lovely evening with the girls BOTH sleeping well for you

poppysocks · 22/08/2008 22:30

What a first week Dizzy. And all that rain to contend with too. And to be fair, sending your child to school in a summer dress in August, really shouldn't be unreasonable! . Seriously at homework in her first week. She's only just 5!

dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 22:31

oh yes, all very serious with the phonetics, we've been copying letters/sounds and making letter shapes too

am going to have to get in some help by the time she reaches P4 - the thought of long division and fractions terrifies me

VintageGardenia · 22/08/2008 22:43

Congratulations LOW! Wow what a birth story. So happy that you are back at home and feeling euphoric. A fine sized boy, take a pat on the back (and a stiff drink), well done.

dizzy lol at your list of school catastrophes. You'll have the best sense of humour at the school gate, and that's what counts in my book!

sazzles glad you had such a lovely day. I love pick your own places but there are hardly any left near us now. I've been giving away bags of apples from the garden, there are tons and I know I won't get ruond to making anything with them.

miamla your boy can eat, can't he? Fair play to you on the feeding front, good work. You too, albs. Especially when not easy. Am thinking about doing bottle of ebm some time soon if I can ever get to a point where I have a pumpable supply that is not needed!

VintageGardenia · 22/08/2008 22:45

TS lol at your PIL. Glad DD1 is getting value out of her Barbie jeep! What does she think of Reese, do you think?

dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 22:46

VG have just been peeking on FB to see if there was a photo of your wee man how are you doing? is everything going well?

VintageGardenia · 22/08/2008 22:47

Sorry posting in pieces.
poppy I hope you decided to keep the name. at your mum by the way. No such thing as a large ten in my book anyway!! If there was a large ten we'd all be in em.

VintageGardenia · 22/08/2008 22:57

Hi dizzy I must do some pics. There's a whole new FB too, I believe, which I haven't looked at. We're doing ok - some weepy days for me but overall doing ok. Will have a bit of time in morning will post more. School routine here starts Monday week so somewhat dreading that, up at 6.30, out of house 7.10, school 8.10... is going to be a challenge!

TwilightSurfer · 22/08/2008 23:04

Question: Is it possible (or just a bad idea) to try and establish a feeding schedule? Or are just suppose to go with what LO dictates?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 23:05

VG don't be silly am sure you're busy enough without worrying about photos - I just have a rather demanding family/friend network who want photos on asap

I haven't looked at new FB either - am too lazy to deal with anything new at moment

am not envying your school routine - is DP off for a wee while to help out? we're lucky in that dd1's wee school is only about a 7minute walk from here - am still not relishing trying to get all 3 of them out of the house and up there on the days that dh is early shift and away from house before 6.30 - will deal with that when it happens I suppose

weeping all perfectly acceptable - its a matter of course in this house!

dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 23:07

good grief TS behave yourself!! you're only just home and Reese is only a few days old, if you manage to get a feeding schedule established this quickly you'll be the first woman in history to do so

just go with the flow because as soon as you think you're in a routine something will happen to launch you right back out of it again!

TwilightSurfer · 22/08/2008 23:11

VG, piecemeal away...I am the queen of it.

Sazzles, moving better but get catches when i guess I'm moving in a way I shouldn't. Can't tell if i'm hurting from stitches, tape (which is still over wound), buzz cut or other. Honestly this is all so foreign to me. I did take a little medicine today for achey muscles EVERYWHERE.

Dizzy, Ismay's meaning is perfect but then again i wouldn/t expect anyless from YOU.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 23:13

thank you

am still gunning for Atlas for LofW - even just as a middle name!

and just for your info, Dylan is now 3wks old and I'm STILL taking my painkillers and have just had a repeat prescription filled for them too - don't let it get to the stage where you are sore/nippy as thats hellish, just take your time and remember it is MAJOR SURGERY!!!

TwilightSurfer · 22/08/2008 23:14

you know me...the trailblazer
it was just a thought

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 22/08/2008 23:17

it might help - I just know there would be no point in this house but then I wouldn't know where to begin to balance my cheque book
