AnnVan · 22/08/2008 07:41

oooh tea yes please.

Im a bit annoyed with DP- showed him my mothercare shopping basket, and he asked why I don't get some of the stuf somewhere else. I said, because some thing I HAVE to get there, so will avoid multiple delivery charges. Hes Said, so GO somewhere and get it. Grrr. Has he got any idea how difficult that is right now? I'm constantly tired, I get sick and feel like I'm going to pass out if I'm up and about too much. Travel doesn't agree with me, and going to a shop will involve trekking in to Bluewater.
Mostly he is lovely, but sometimes he can be so annoying, like when he told me I'd get over my Hyperemesis if I went for a walk each day

Sorry for the rant

AnnVan they just dont get it sometimes do they?

My contrasctions are now about 7 mins apart, but have not been very long, however....
Last one was quite painful and lasted a full minute.
My pool is full and very hot. mw suggested to get it hotter then we can cool easily when its time to get in.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/08/2008 07:53

oops contractions

AnnVan · 22/08/2008 08:10

Thanks
Will check and see if John Lewis has everything I need.

TwilightSurfer · 22/08/2008 08:21

YEAH No1. My contractions varied the entire labour so don't worry. At one point they were double waves every 2 then 4 minutes (contract...wait 2min....contract...wait 4min...repeat). Those are what sent me to the maternity ward. I do remember they were "toe curling" at first BUT RECORD BREAKING later on.

Reese is up to feed....AGAIN! She had six feeds this evening and not one poo. Concerned. She's been pooing every other feed. So I'm trying to stay up even with her asleep, rubbing her back and basically massaging her whole body to help move things along for her. WISH SOMEONE WOULD DO THAT FOR ME.....i'm still clogged. YUK! However I just downed a large glass of OJ with added fiber mix. That coupled with the stool softner I took yesterday SHOULD correct things. DH was laughing at all the plumbing sounds coming from my insides.....they are so LOUD!

Ann you are too funny putting off things for so long. YOU ARE HAVING A BABY SOON!!!!

Hi Expectant. Thank you.

Happy Birthday Vicky.

TS - dont remind me!

miamla · 22/08/2008 08:34

greetings, we've having an early mornng feast here so thought i'd say hi. i love feeding whilst lying down...
DS does all the work and i can just lie here and wait for him to finish!

no1, sounds like you're having a baby!!

DP still proving how amazing he is. he went to supermarket and got enough food to feed an army! my instructions for tomorrow are to eat until i can't eat no more!

anyone else awake?

annvan i got my baby stuff from toys r us. prices were v reasonable and they had lots of offers. really pleased with everything i ordered.

NB most of the above was typed at 4.30 but i was another one who couldn't get on MN. perhaps i should try and reschedule his feed if it happens at the same time every night!

gah! and now it does it twice!

oopsacoconut · 22/08/2008 08:52

MOrning All

No1 sounds good - fingers crossed things are settling into a pattern and you will have your baby soon.

TS remember that getting the plumbing working is often troublesome after major abdo surgery, add labour to the mix and hey presto it may take a while.

Annvan Hope you manage to get all your order sorted

Sazzles Well done on the linen trousers - it's all that pumping!

Contractions have stopped - they were 10 mins and not too painful so had hot bath with clarey sage they off to bed and hey presto they started to speed up for about an hour and propmtly STOPPED!! So have been awake since 4 am stipid MN wouldn't let me post, DH didn't want sex, no-one else was awake.

Have been commissioned to make a cake for a photo brochure so best get on my dinosaur and get the bits and pieces - it has to be pink, gold and for a 60 year old - how appealing is that!

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 08:55

annvan re your dh - asking you to go out and get all the shopping on your own when you are this pregnant???? I think not. I'm with sazzles - John Lewis is a good bet - although I'm not sure why getting it all from Mothercare is a problem?

This book might be helpful to you 'Babyproofing your marriage' - three women authors one of whom is Stacie Cockrell if you want to look it up. It is very funny but also actually pretty helpful and I wished I'd read it beforehand. It may give you an idea of what is about to come in terms of relationship issues! On the other hand feel free to ignore....

TS Awww re dd1 and calling the police. I think you need to allow siblings a year to fully adjust. I remember my cousin asking his mum 'when the baby was going to go back into her tummy' a month or so after he was born.

Hope the family poo issues resolve themselves. Maybe try switching formula brands? The ones with prebiotics are supposed to be easier to digest - or so I've heard over here. Do you have lactulose (for you) over there? Worked miracles for me...

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 08:59

Whoops - forgot to say good luck to no1 Still not a sign of anything here - except I think ds2 has slowed down a bit (please come over the weekend pleeeeeeeeeease)

Dh found out that colleagues have been bitching about him taking paternity leave and a week of a/l as there is no-one to cover him. He was really sad about it but I really don't think that is a reasonable attitude from work colleagues - felt like marching up there and giving them a piece of my mind. He has done his best to get a hell of a lot of on-call/nights etc out of the way beforehand and he hates leaving people in the lurch....

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 09:01

oops My mum is 60 this year but really really wouldn't want a pink and gold cake (there is no accounting for tastes!) Very impressed with talent in that sort of area though.

AnnVan · 22/08/2008 09:04

PF what does your dh do?
also think i might take a look for that book

cyteen · 22/08/2008 09:07

Well done Sazzles on pumping away the baby weight - great tip, I'll be noting that for future reference If this baby ever decides to make an appearance, that is.

Happy birthday cheerfulvicky, may you be showered with wonderful gifts!

no1 I am cheering you on from here, COME ON BABY No1!

And yes, AnnVan, that is the most random thing I've ever heard - why on earth would it be better in any way for you to go out and troll round loads of different shops, in your pregnant and sleep-deprived state, when you can just order online and let everything come to you? Honestly, some major league train of thought going on there.

Good to hear cheery positive vibes from all the small hours postnatal crew

Well, after my crampy night the other night, last night was a bust in that I slept soundly and don't feel anything happening Just feel more immobile than ever, in that my baby is now so enormous that every time I move I get a bit of him wedged somewhere uncomfortable Lots of discharge but none of it interesting, iyswim. So I guess I'm on the race sidelines again for a while!

Never mind, my friend from NCT is hopefully coming over for lunch today and bringing her adorable LO with her, so maybe a few sleepy cuddles will wake my hormones up...

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 09:08

annvan He is a cardiology registrar - and also in the RAF (but they do all their training in the NHS like 'ordinary' doctors)

AnnVan · 22/08/2008 09:19

I think it's because he's heard that mothercare is really overpriced, especially for clothes, so he was a bit at me adding a pack of socks to the shopping basket (realised we have nothing for babys feet) To be fair, he really isn't at his best in the mornings.

PF - Ooooh. I applied to joing the RAF as an officer. The reason they gave for turning me down was that I didn't have enough 'links or connections' in the forces. Was really but that really put me off!

AnnVan · 22/08/2008 09:27

Right, I'm off to mw. If I'm not back in an hour, send a search party

alittlebitshy · 22/08/2008 09:51

Hello all,
I had another one of my late night hysterical moments last night. It comes at the end of cluster feeding when henry is clearly exhausted but will not go to sleep and I don;t fele I can put him on my sore boob anymore and my ok one is empty/liable to get knackered. I do feel that we will end up giving him at least 1 bottle of something, be it expressed or formula late at night when I have my losing it time. I scare myself with how crap I feel then

BUT dh ended up cuddling henry to sleep - didn't want him to but... he then slet almost 6 hours, had a feed and is still asleep 3.5 hours later. I've just expressed off the side I'm not about to feed off and taken the pressue off the side i am (honestly, if you;d put a pin near me i'd have exploded with milk everywhere )

My bfc lady didn't come last night - but is on her way here now.....

I bought new clothes yesterday. That's right - dh, ds and I went shopping. I needed fat ladies clothes - size up trousers and some tops that have not shrunk over time that will accomodate my norks. Also got re-measured for bras.I was 36f when they did it just at the end of the pg, now I'm a g. They only had 1 pack so I've ordered 2 more...

Nezzi · 22/08/2008 10:13

Morning all

I knew I would never be able to keep up with this thread, especially with all the middle of the night MNs posting during feeding, expressing, not sleeping, contractions etc. I'm very impressed with you all, I'm more of a "can't be arsed" kind of girl at the moment

Congrats to TS & welcome to Reese.
Sarah, I hope Tess is over her cold soon and LOL at your partner's "baby blues"! What is it with some men...?
Oops & No1, positive labour vibes to you both, I hope your babies come soon.
Cyteen fingers crossed that your labour starts again soon, hopefully your friend's LO will get your hormones excited

Sorry if I've missed any important posts
I'm off to aqua-natal at lunch, feels great being in the pool..

Hugs to all

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 10:17

annvan They seriously gave you that as a reason! I'm
Don't worry about lo's feet - socks don't stay on tiny babies feet anyway

albs I can totally empathise with that 'but there's NOTHING LEFT IN THERE' feeling as dh says he/she lo still wants feeding. I can't remember when the cluster feeding ends - but I know it does. I'm dreading it tbh and I get on well with bf usually. ds went to sleep on top on one of us for about 6 weeks let alone one night! so I wouldn't really worry about it.

PetitFilou1 · 22/08/2008 10:19

oops You will be pleased to know that you've made me clean the fridge(s) - however not to your infection control standards just with some ecover spray

Buckets · 22/08/2008 10:42

Morning all.
Can I have a proud mummy moment? Kurt has put on 10 1/2 oz in 1 week! Breastfeeding is still painful (my letdown reflex is the sharp stabbing kind, rather than the pleasant tingle mentioned in the books) & I still seem to have way too much milk for one baby. But now all my other aches and pains (turned out to be internal piles pressurizing the external ones and stitches) are gone I can cope with the breastfeeding better.
So there is light at the end of the tunnel ladies.

TwilightSurfer · 22/08/2008 10:44

No more air play from No1....
I wonder how she's fairing?

[TMI]Just popped on real quick to do a little dance number {{{cabbage patch}}}{{{cabbage patch}}} because I pooped!!!! Lordy Mercy was that a LONG TIME COMING!! I guess all the pain junk they shot into that epidural thingy in my back did it the clogging because I was doing just fine just hours prior to the insertion. Four days.......AAWWHHHH finally some relief.

So for anyone who MIGHT end up in the same boat I ended up in......TAKE A STOOL SOFTNER OR FIBER SUPPLEMENT BEGINNING IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING C-SECTION. Don't learn the hard way! Oh, that was a funny pun.

Thank you MN for allowing me a place to talk CRAP first thing in the morning.
