On the topic of poo...
This sounds odd but take a little q-tip and swab a little vasaline on "the exit". Massage it a little during the process. The vasaline helps in case things are a bit dry...helps prevent fissures. The massage sends sensory singles that directions so maybe the brain goes "OH THAT WAY". Simple and crazy but worth trying.

Poo is one of two things that will extend a baby's stay in the hospital after birth here. In a 48-hour period baby has to prove feeding and pooing before a release will be allowed.

Thanks for the tip on tucking the hands PF-I've been able to do that since this morning as she's finally brought her hands down from her cheeks where they've been since the birth. I was right about where her hands were on the inside. She is unbelievably lovely ...

DD1 is a bit put out. Apparently, daddy should make smooothies for her, DS and himself, but I can't have one 'coz mommy has to go away on a plane.' [hmmm]Must go and fire some more love in her general direction.

WHen am i ever going to have time/energy/inclination to make the house less of a bombsite. I don't recall doing much houswework exceot hoovering in dd's first year - and she was a good sleeper with a clockwork bedtime routine by 6 weeks. ARGH!

Ann, I had to look and see what that g pelvis thing was too. Here's what I found: "There are four types of pelvic 'shape'. They are called 'gynaecoid' (normal female pelvis), 'anthropoid' (a proportion of women have this and can have a normal delivery), 'plattypelloid' (flat pelvis often associated with Ricketts and rare in Western world), and 'android' (male type pelvis). Your doctor may mean that you have a gynaecoid pelvis which is smaller than normal."

Buckets you are more than likely correct. Seems crazy to be ready for four weeks and NOTHING!! I guess I should send MIL home so the baby will pop out.

Miamla, if you are around. I'm interested in the day leading up to your natural water break. Feelings, mood and such. Trying hard to remember my last experience but it's a bit hazy today.

I went back and recalculated DD1's cook time...came up with 268 days (from conception to delivery). If this one cooks the same amount of time, I'll go into labour Sunday Night/Monday Morning....delivering Monday the 18th. Crazy how ANAL I am with numbers, isn't it.

Oh and if I deliver Monday the 18th...DD1 and DD2 will be EXACTLY 4.5 years apart. Again with the numbers thing...

Sazzles feel free to check my math. The last count I did, I did by physically counting each and every day on the calendar....thinking my addition was flakey. I've also gone out to 8 different due date calendars online...all gave me 8/16/08 as the official due date by LMP and 8/17/08 when I used date of conception. Does this child NOT understand NUMBERS!!!! By all accounts she should be presenting herself NOW!!! And if ONE MORE PERSON CALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's only 11am on my due date GIVE ME A CHANCE FOLKS!! How can I relax and gently go into labour when the DAMN PHONE KEEPS RINGING!!!! Not to mention my father is coming by shortly (remember family drama of the last two weekends). I've told DH to play hard ball if need be and kick anyone out of our house if things look like they are going south.

I am hungry! Off to find food....

Milk problems sorted out here too Sazzles: I finally persuaded DD2 that opening her mouth might help. Anyway, it's good to get it right before I jet off. DD1 still is giving me the evils, but DS is just besotted with his new sister and we went out for a walk with her while DD was asleep so he could introduce her to the local livestock.

TS Thanks for the explanation - now I don't feel like the mw was telling me I had large hips! I'm currently having some sort of migraine aura (can't see properly) so will leave checking on here again until later...may get dh to check my bp but it has been completely fine so far so doubt any problem with it.
