Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
spottyshoes · 14/08/2008 15:34

Oh I see! For some reason I was thinking there was more than 4 days between 12.4 and 13.1

(just had a nap so must be a bit foggy headed )

PinkTulips · 14/08/2008 15:35

he passed!!!!!

with flying colours. no more grumpy stressed dp for a few more months now til his exams before xmas.

i got my apointment for booking in for tuesday... the idiots would give me one for the one week in 6 months dp is away and there is no way i'm driving 45 mins with 2 toddlers to the hospital! have refused to change it.... dp will just have to come home a day early as if i cancel it'll be 4 weeks before i can get another.

kids are driving me mad, am feeling pretty shitty and it's raining all day again.

as well as that i've just found out a family friend died yesterday..... when my mom told me i actually had to ask her to repeat herself as i couldn't take it in. he was only 51 and was one of the most full of life people you could ever come across... buckets of energy and enthusiasm, always with 100 projects on the go and a business to run. he had a massive heart attack while on holiday with his wife visiting his daughter of all things. am in total shock..... he's absolutely the last person you'd expect to drop dead like that, his youngest is only 19

rosieposey · 14/08/2008 15:39

Yeah its not much really but the weeks cant go fast enough for me! Now ive seen it and it actually looks like a baby i just want to hold it! Still i have to finish planning a wedding in November first so plenty to make the time whizz by!

Im being particularly rubbish at the moment and need to pull my finger out ( still havent sorted out a florist or the entertainment!) will end up having to do a tap dance and warbling at the guests myself at this rate - oh dear i dont think so ...

supersteph · 14/08/2008 15:46

Hi all, Sorry I have bin off the thead for a while, my GrandAD passed away last weekend.
I have also started a new job and still worried about little pea.
I have bin having bad headaches (sorry about spellin) For a week or so, and I dont feel as if my bump is growing. I will be 16 weeks on Sunday. The sickness has finaly settled so cant wait to hear the heart beat for the first time on Tuesday. I wish I could skip to 20 week scan and feel the baby move...... xx

Rachrox · 14/08/2008 17:19

Hello Ladies,
Hope everyone is well and not picking their spots!
I've been offline for few days so it took me ages to catch up....

I had my scan on monday, thankfully only one baby in there! They also slightly changed my dates so have amended on list. I also have a doppler, just a cheap one from babymad but found heartbeat at 11 weeks, i told the sonographer that i had one though and she wasn't impressed and told me to speak to the midwife. Luckily i also had to see my consultant afterwards and mentioned it to her, she said there was no harm in them but if i think there's a problem not to rely on it.

Mentalpup Looks like i'm following you on the list below!! I'm in Cheltenham, are you close by?

Sorry to the Pinktulips and Supersteph for the deaths of your close ones, not a nice time.

Okay that's enough rambling from me i think!!

RachRox Am also in Cheltenham!

mentalpup · 14/08/2008 19:14

And our dates have moved to the same one! May well see you CGH then!!!

spottyshoes · 15/08/2008 09:13

IKWYM Rosie 4 days is 4 days - u'll be thankful of them towards the end! Wow baby and a wedding! You will certainly have your hands full over the next few months. Good luck getting everything sorted. If not I'm sure the tap dance will lookk fab

Hi Supersteph. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well and about your Grandad. My Granny died a couple of weeks ago too . Good news about the sickness though, I'm sure the next few weeks with fly by x

Congratulations on the scan Rachrox. I'm not spot picking but any tips on how to cover an eyebrow spot would be much appreciated

Right I give in - after the scan on Weds I AM getting a bloody Dopppler!!!

PinkTulips · 15/08/2008 10:02

i'm so tempted to get a dopplar... dp says go for it but then he always says that.... not sure if i can justify spending more money on reassuring myself, already spent 100 euros on a private scan to stop myself panicing!

dp is off this afternoon for the weekend so i'm stuck all by myself with 2 toddlers 5 miles from civilisation and just to really annoy me... the car will be here but i can't drive it as the insurance has been swapped to the new car he's gone down to collect!

am off to the shops now to get supplies.

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 10:58

Ergh I am fed up.

I have been feeling miserable and ill. Will someone please give me a massive kick up the arse?

I can't even pinpoint what it is I am so fecking fed up about which makes me think it's hormonal. And I'm missing dd but she is back tomorrow woohoo!

DH took me to the coast last night and we sat and watched the sea which was nice. On the way back we went to a big baby shop and DH ran about looking at nursery colour schemes and pushing buggies. And then he bought me a curry, yum.

My headaches are really starting to piss me off. I know my BP is ok as DH has been checking it twice a day but this headache has lasted two days now. It's a constant pain down the front of my head ggggrrrrrrr.

Sorry for being a moaning git everyone

rosieposey · 15/08/2008 11:14

Spotty i love my doppler - i used it this morning the same as every morning and its so reassuring when your at the stage where you cant feel lo moving

Pink i think it might be a bit cheaper to rent and there are some kindly posted brill links on here earlier in the thread about how cheaply you can buy them too.

Markstretch glad to hear DD is on her way home tomorrow - i would miss mine terribly if they went away for the week too and they are much older! (i cried embarressingly at the side of the coach when DD2 went off to France for 5 days - maybe go and see your GP r.e. your headaches although i think all they ever do is spout the same old 'take some painkillers' line. I never get headaches and have had one about 3 or 4 times this pregnancy so i guess its to do with blood flow or something. Other than ice packs and sympathy cant say much else but am sorry for you as headaches are rubbishness ...

Took delivery this morning of a fab pair of trousers from ebay - i really needed maternity ones and couldnt bear the ugly arsed offerings in mothercare - these ones are from next - jersey wide leg stretchy ones with a big fold down bit at the top and they fit perfectly! Yay! Was a bit worried about finding plus size maternity as most of the manufacturers obviously dont think large women have sex/get pregnant/or get married for that matter lol - but these are great and next do go up to bigger sizes which i was pleasantly surprised at. Have seen a few maternity clothing manufacturers who make large sizes but god they are ugly

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 11:44

Thanks Rosie- I have just eaten two scones with jam and squirty cream and I feel a bit brighter

I love my doppler too- I have a little listen last thing at night just for a bit of reassurance. I'm not going to tell my midwife I've got one though as I believe it is frowned upon.

rosieposey · 15/08/2008 13:16

Yeah mine reckoned you cant hear anything till your about 14 weeks at the earliest unless your very skilled - i heard my lo at 11 + 5 and i know if your slim you can hear even earlier than that so i didnt think it was worth mentioning that i got one either!

lardybump · 15/08/2008 16:41

Evening everyone hope you are all well. I am so annoyed today. I spent £120 on my Neucal (sp?)and bloods as we had to go private (Not available on NHs here until 20 weeks). I had it done on Tuesday and was told to call today for results. I have called 3 times today I was firstly told to call back as blood results are not in yet (that was a 10 this morning) then I was told to call back at 3 as they were having technical difficulties. Now I have been told to call back Monday as they are having new software installed on their computers and so can not give results.

This has made me so angry. They were quick enough to take the money, and now I have to worry all weekend. They should have had the software updated on a weekend when they are not open. I just hope the results are correct when I get them on Monday....

Sorry to moan I was just so looking forward to putting it all to bed today!!!!

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 16:49

MY SPOTTY FACED FRIENDS

Today I have spent the best £10 in a long long time.

I bought this.

It is bloody fantastic. The girl in the shop matched it exactly to my skin tone, you can apply as much or as little as you need with your finger and I am

BLEMISH FREE.

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 16:50

Oh and Lardy- that sucks. I would be very angry too.

lardybump · 15/08/2008 17:16

Thanks MarkStretch, I must get myself some of that..... I dream of being blemish free....

rosieposey · 15/08/2008 18:09

ohhh i love mac - but there is no hope for me now - i can honestly say that i have never ever been so spotty in all my life - all on my chin - 7 today!!! fgs

Lardybump sorry to hear that - thats not really fair to leave you over the weekend - i would demand a partial refund or somethng - thats terrible service.

lardybump · 15/08/2008 18:25

I am going to write a letter and see what they say...

My spots are in my hair line and fore head... ((( shhhh and on my bum.. ouch))))

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 18:53

I am home alone tonight as Dh is on nights. I am going to make the most of it by:

Having a long bath

Reading my magazine

Putting on a facemask

Painting my toenails

Watching Eastenders and BB

MNing.

laidbackinengland · 15/08/2008 19:18

Evening. My DH is on call tonight and has just been called in, hopefully just for an hour !. DS2 and 3 are asleep and I am watching a film with DS1 and trying to steal his popcorn.

Is anyone else doing a version of 'nesting' I seem to be constantly sorting out drawers and tidying cupboards at the moment. Tres odd !

oooggs · 15/08/2008 20:00

I am sorting and tidying too - very odd

16 weeks today and huge

spottyshoes · 15/08/2008 20:15

How crap lardy! for you!

Yes I am nesting!!!! Am sorting all my clothes into ebay/storage clothes, clearing out my drawers so that I can get some new matty stuff in there

Tonight DH is out drinking so I am;

Having a bath with mag

Epilating forest legs

watching Sky + back log as I can actually get in the front room for once!!

But 1st i'm going to eat the massive pizza and garlic bread I have just had delivered (on DH's account!) with a bottle of alc free becks

Know how to party me

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 20:24

The face pack is on and I have finished the left over Ben and Jerrys.

Had me bath.

Going to start the second coat on my toes now.

We know how to PARTY!

lardybump · 15/08/2008 20:44
